Hia all, my dd is 2.8 and doing really well on the toilet and potty she will use both and happily lets me lift her outside for a wee. When she needs a poo she asks for a nappy on! obviously i allow it then take it off after just wondered if anyone elses lo's do this and how long will it last??

theStallionOfSensibleness · 06/07/2007 14:28

DONT DO IT DO NOT USE NAPPIES FOR POOS

lulumamasmentee · 06/07/2007 14:30

cod you were right about the drink driving thing a few weeks back, my dp's friend got 17mth ban reduced to 12 for doing the course

the judge didn't give a toss about the letter he had from his word

what are you a salesman?

I'm using my nice cloth training pants dd2 is in one right now

Cappuccino · 06/07/2007 14:39

she is asleep btw

LoveMyGirls · 06/07/2007 14:49

Cod - Should i be expecting her to go without a nappy all the time at 22mths? I thought i was just getting her used to the idea or am i just confusing her?

FlossALump · 06/07/2007 14:51

Considers stealing NHS supplies of inco sheets (adult care mats if you will) - not sure if worth the ethical dillema

LoveMyGirls · 06/07/2007 14:53

Capp - buy a kylie (sp?) sheet from mothercare (or whereever) they are brilliant, they are washable and will last a long time and be very useful, i slept on the one i had for dd1 when i was pg with dd2 in the late stages incase my waters went while i was in bed. It's about a metre square and goes on top of your normal sheet.

fedupwasherwoman · 06/07/2007 15:17

trust me, if you go away for the weekend and stay in a b & b, like we did, during toilet training, having an absorbant care mat is a godsend as you can sit your little widdler down on one to watch tv or whatever whilst you shower or get ready to go out and not worry about having to explain to the hotel/b & b owner about wet patches in your room.

We only ever bought one pack of care mats and it saw us through the whole 8 weeks of toilet training.

News from the postgraduate department is that the threat of no more beach trips until the pants are dry all day, every day actually worked yesterday. HOORAY !

Will it work for 2 days in a row ? I somehow doubt it

theStallionOfSensibleness · 06/07/2007 15:25

DS1 HAS JUST ANNOUNCED THAT HE NEEDED A WEE, SO I TOOK HIM TO THE LOO ET VOILA, HE DID UN PISSE.

[gri n]

Mercy · 06/07/2007 15:42

Ooooh well done!

I'm still waiting for today's poo.

IntergalacticWalrus · 06/07/2007 15:46

todays poo arrived here at 2pm

on the carpet.

Still, a lot easier than scaping shit out of a nappy into the loo, so can't be all that bad

fedupwasherwoman · 06/07/2007 15:58

IGW - Congrats on the "I need a wee"

We were half way up a lighthouse stairway ( = a bl00dy long way up) when ds1 came out with that gem of a phrase on holiday last year Dh had to carry him down to the nearest toilets and then all the way back up again to rejoin the tour group.

To whoever posted that their dp/dh had put their child back in a nappy - HIDE THE NAPPIES. I found it was the only way to stop dh taking the easy way out when it was his turn to be in charge of ds.

lulumamasmentee · 06/07/2007 16:24

ok doctors and back with no wees, but she did do a huge one in the potty after her nap

today is good for potty training

Mercy · 06/07/2007 16:44

Disaster!

ds announced he needs to poo. He very reluctantly agreed to do it in the toilet when I said he could have a sweet.

We race to the toilet to find dd already in there having one of her rather protracted poos (she likes to read magazines when pooing). I then race around looking for the potty but can't find it anywhere. ds getting upset by now and I start shouting at dd to hurry up, to no avail.

So ds ends up with a nappy on. And then dd appears and asks for a sweet because she has done a poo in the toilet.

sassy · 06/07/2007 16:45

PMSL at mrs JC noticing my typo. I am now singing 'baggy trousers' at my dd while she sits on the khazi.

Well done to all the small creatures and the rest of us coping with it.

I am VERY proud of dd2 - she has gone 2 days with only one wee on floor and that was my fault cos I forgot to ask. We even managed a cack in the loo this afty! She hung on all morning while we were out and about, wee'ed on demand at mil's house and in publioc loos. She is officially a STAR.

Fingers crossed this miserable stage is over chez sassy.

sassy · 06/07/2007 16:47

Just in case the gremlins are listening.. I am not getting cocky, ok?

hotcrumpets · 06/07/2007 16:54

Littlefish · 06/07/2007 18:22

I can't start this now - we're off on holiday next week and I want to start when we get back. Please tell me that you'll re-run this from 1st August! We have knickers, potty, loo seat, sweets and stickers ready.

Hey Sassy - well done to dd2. Please can we come round to your house, so dd can watch your dd being so clever!

Cappuccino · 06/07/2007 21:11

well she didn't wee in her training pants anyhoo

she has been dry all day and even been taking herself off for wees on her own and then shouting 'I did a wee' and presenting her bum to be wiped

I am buying nowt care mats are disposable shite
