LoveMyGirls · 06/07/2007 11:38

Dd2 is now sat on potty with makeshift table and eating her dinner, im at least at an advantage because she will stay on it for quite a long time which gives me hope she will pee on it at some point if kept there long enough - am i doing this right?

IG - what about if u say u will switch cbeebies back on if he sits on potty to watch it? with sweets?

IG think of the washing you wont have to do in a couple of weeks when hes cracked it!!

LoveMyGirls · 06/07/2007 11:41

Will he stay on if you sing? we've been doing head shoulders knees and toes?

Mercy · 06/07/2007 11:48

LMG - well, ideally you should be taking her to the potty so she begins to understand the whole process, rather than 'catching' the wee.

BUT, if she does do a wee in the potty then give her lots of praise.

And then take her to the potty in another half hour or so. You have to take them to the potty/toilet in the early stages, then a bit later you can progress to looking out for the signs (dancing around etc).

Good luck!

I'm waiting for today's poo - no sign yet!

FlossALump · 06/07/2007 11:52

We just had a wee on the potty! I told him beebies would go off if he didn't sit... He had a big fuss made, stuck a sticker on his chart (I even let him stick it where he wanted it and not perhaps where it should be), got three little chocolate treats (felt I had to top the one I gave him earlier for just sitting on the darn thing...). We also rang granddad and told him about it all. Then before DS had even finished chocolate treat number one he started having a paddy that he wanted more... that went on for some time, then he had a paddy that he couldn't stick more stickers... I feel this might be hard work!!

IGW - give him an hour or so now maybe then tell him he can have a thomas dvd if he wee's on the potty??

IntergalacticWalrus · 06/07/2007 11:53

He's fallen asleep on the sofa (wearing some traing pants)

Re;ief

I think an hour of not worrying about it +a refreshed DS1 will make for slightly easier potty trainging (fingers crossexs)

I ahve been singing "tghe william on the loo goes wee wee wee etc. He thinks it's hilarious. But only when he's not sitting on the shitter

IntergalacticWalrus · 06/07/2007 11:56

WELL DONE FLOSS';SS DS!!!!!!!!!!!!

i MIGHT TRY THE dvd THING. hE WON;T SIT ON THE POTTY AT ALL, SO i CAN'T EVEN GET HIM SITTING ON IT IN FRONT OF THE TV.

I think the tantrums were down to tiredness tbh.
He'[s monkey though ebcause he kept satying "I want to sit on the loo" and then as soon as we got there it was "chocolate button now" so I might have to change me tatcic there slightly

LoveMyGirls · 06/07/2007 12:00

Bugger, she got up and wandered about (which i thought was ok as long as i was watching for signs as we're only in kitchen diner without carpet n then she did it - i've washed her down and put in nappy as shes about to go to bed now anyway. No fuss just sat her on potty (incase there was more to come) then said where do we wee? ON the potty! (she's very young to be grasping it completely but a rough idea is what i'm hoping for.

MrsJohnCusack · 06/07/2007 12:04
