lol

miracle here, one wee on loo. he is starting to get worried so i will stop pushing loo, don't want to put him off altogether. also he is slightly crazed by greed.

suggestions more than welcome, or it is back to nappies for daytime next week.

MrsJohnCusack · 14/07/2007 23:43

We had to give up as DD has just been too ill this week (making up for 2.5 years of virtually never being ill in one week I think) finishing triumphantly with raging diahorrea yesterday (which I also got....nice).
However today she has asked for pants rather than a nappy so we'll see how we go

lissie I think cod will def say skip the potty
loo is much more convenient really

yawningmonster · 15/07/2007 08:16

ds is still trying to get to the goodies by taking his stuffed animal to the toilet, will not under any circumstances tolerate underware rather than nappies and considers being taken to the toilet himself punishment of the severest form. toilet training as I have said is a no go here for now, will try again "when he is ready"

one wee in potty yesterday was a fluke i think! am rewarding dd for just sitting on potty at the moment, then 2 mins after getting off she does a wee on floor with big grin on her face. how long should she sit on potty for and are sad faces acceptable on a reward chart?

FlossALump · 15/07/2007 18:33

Awful day yesterday, more wet than wees in potty. Better day today, no wet as yet (although nappy on again for trip out ). When we returned home DS spontaneously did a poo in the potty!! So feeling hopeful again. A whole week of doing bugger all for it though (bar two days at work). hoping CM will be able to keep it up a bit tomorrow. What do you think I should do? Send loads of trousers and pants or put nappies in?

mazzystar · 15/07/2007 21:11

i have been lurking on this thread and hadn't started with ds - 2.8 - until yesterday.

have to say i never realised what a prolific pee-er the boy was. we've been wading through the stuff. he has beeing pooing in the potty - successfully for about two weeks which is great. he's scared of the loo, thinks he's going to fall in

have been trying to incentivise him with dinosaur sweets and a megablocks dumper truck but he seems to be very, very reluctant to pee where he's meant to.

spur me on will you please, my determination is waning.....

fedupwasherwoman · 16/07/2007 10:57

Arrrrrgh! 4 "wet" days in a row, nothing is working.

Heeeelp!

This morning I resorted to explaning to him how he had a bag inside him where the wee wee came from and he needed to empty the bag regularly to stop it overflowing and him ending up with wet pants/trousers.

I'm going mad and getting desperate.

He was dry this time last year but is totally hopeless at the moment.

IntergalacticWalrus · 16/07/2007 11:06

at being called a shit head

DS1 still in nappies

Please feel free to kick my ever expanding arse

MrsJohnCusack · 16/07/2007 11:15

well DD had her first day at preschool today (YES! 6.5 hours of freedom!!!!) and apparently they took her to the loo every hour. however she did nothing and did throw a tantrum one time. Still, maybe it helped seeing the other children

she is pretty much better now so I might try again, starting Wednesday as don't have to go out much after that

sassy · 16/07/2007 13:55

Farking arse.

We have regressed. Wet trouser count so far today = 2 pairs. Yesterday = 3 pairs.

Bugger. But I will NOT go back to nappies.I will NOT go back to nappies.(repeats as a mantra)

TheCodDelusion · 16/07/2007 15:00

men are crap at potty trainignc so they are IDLE

Aefondkiss · 16/07/2007 17:35

reporting in after a weekend of partying...

we have hd success and failure over the weekend... but we had 12 people staying and 21 people to feed etc... so accidents will happen.....

we have had no success with poo, he will not go to the loo without being taken, one pee on the carpet today, two in the loo, it is all going very slowly here...

anyone else finding it all verrrrry tedious?

thomcat · 16/07/2007 17:39

COD - got any hot tips for a littel girl with SN's who needs to be toilet trained, aged 5.5 and I don't think she's really ready but I have to try anyway?

TheCodDelusion · 16/07/2007 18:38

just go
foloow the rules
see how you get on

mazzystar · 16/07/2007 20:14

evening

today we have had 6 wees and 1 poo in potty. much joy, dinosaur sweets administered. granny and daddy informed etc. and only 1 accident - humungous great 2 pint pee on living room rug.

BUT

he does seems to have been sitting on the potty a lot. and it only seems to be pure luck and chance that he's got them in. i don't have any sense that he could/would tell me if he wanted to go. is that just how it is at first?

tis indeed veerrry tedious

oh yes and he has discovered the joys of fiddling with his willy.

madrose · 16/07/2007 23:59

Started with DD (2.4) this weekend - she has weed and pooed on potty/toilet - but pot luck me thinks.

She will sit on the potty/toilet say she's finished and then get up and do a wee. How can I encourage her to release her bladder when sitting on potty or toilet - got through 3 pairs of knickers and a wet floor when no knickers on.

penguinmum · 17/07/2007 09:02

was having same problems, sitting for ages (having been bribed to stay there!) then getting up and weeing on floor, but yesterday seemed to turn a corner, despite being out for the day. Used pull-ups to avoid stress, but she was dry all morning and only 2 accidents in the evening (one in the bath so doesn't really count!). However tomorrow is day 5 and Cod says that it will be the worst day..... good job I will be at work and MIL will have to cope!

coddy · 17/07/2007 09:32

yes mazzy that the training bit

lissie · 17/07/2007 10:02

right, ds is noe telling me he wants a wee wee so he can have a a sticker on his chart. gave him a sticker initially for sitting on the toilet then he did a wee so i gave him a sticker and a sweet. so now he's lying about wanting a wee wee. started a few days earlier than i really wanted to but hey ho!
