think I may be giving up for a few days at least Pretty Bloody Soon.

ds is ruddy cunning!! Having cottoned on that friends get the goods out of the box for going to the toilet he came to me today and told me monkey (his constant stuffed companion) needed to pooh on the toilet and wanted the monster trucks when he was finished...damn monkey had to make do with a sticker!!

He's a bit better today (he's eaten something) so I'll probably styart agfain tomorrow.

Please don;t expel m,e miss.

micromummy · 13/07/2007 12:48

glad some people are winning...poo poo here, poo poo there, pints of wee wee everywhere.
fed up (day 5, ds1 2.5)
need moral support.
he will wee on potty whenever put there, but everywhere else as well (sometimes 5 mins after potty). won't poo in potty at all.

postgraduate news....

ds1 had not one but 2 accidents yesterday (wees only) so no sticker on holiday chart, drew a sad face instead and no chocolate just before bathtime.

hoping for a better day today [pathetic emotican]

micromummy · 13/07/2007 16:15

tends to have a cup of water with meals/snack. doesn't drink much in between.
Just went out and put him in nappy (as clearly he was bound to wee everywhere) which was bone dry hour and a half later so clearly doesn't NEED to pee all the time. think problem is when he needs to do a poo we get lots of little bits of wee until poo is deposited on floor (won't do it in potty).
many sighs.
will carry on with nappy off at home/pants.
have bought more wahing liquid/wipes etc

fedupwasherwoman · 13/07/2007 16:19

Just read the post about someone's ds holding their willy, resumably then weeing standing up. ds1 sits down to wee as he'd need to stand on a step to wee into the toilet standing up.

When should we teach him about boys weeing standing up ? Just speculating that the novelty of it might make him keener to go to the loo.

OK, I give up and need help! My DD (age 2.6) has chicken pox. Most spots on her face and PRIVATES (poor mite). So, I thought that it would be better for her spots if she ran around with no nappy for a few days rather than sitting in wee. Trouble is, she's potty and toilet phobic. Day 1 - 2 accidents am, nothing pm. Day 2 - accident am, nothing pm. Day 3 - nothing, Day 4 am - nothing. Big tantrum (both of us, DH refereed). pm - nappy on. Have tried special knickers, bribes (she's seen big bag of cheap crap from Tesco), chocolate etc. She has perfect bladder control - she waits until lunchtime nap and then it's like Niagra Falls. She now won't even go to the bathroom to wash her hands for meals. Whaddya reckon? She's stroppy, stubborn and stressy - not like me at all !

Problem here.
ds1 will sit on toilet/potty and squeeze out a wee "on demand" but definitely not emptying bladder - not a "proper/natural" wee at all. Don't think this should be encouraged as straining to wee NOT good; he can do several little wees and then still have nearly full bladder to put on floor.
So, can't practise weeing on potty until he starts saying he really needs a wee?
Currently he says "oh dear wee wee on floor/windowsill/piano stool" (5 pairs pants so far today).

fishie · 14/07/2007 14:11

hmm need advice. ds entirely reliable at home on pot with bare bottom. but he won't go on a loo at home or out. had to put him in a nappy this morgning to go out.

how to get him on a loo? bribes aplenty here. he gets nothing for a wee on the pot, sweetie for poo on pot. have special sweeties for a wee on loo and a car for a poo on the loo (no bloody chance). also even when i do get him on he sits all tightly and would wee straight in my face.

can't take pot everywhere with us and he's back with childminder on monday, she can do bare bot / potty at home but they go out quite a lot.

well, reward chart and "potty time" book arrived. ds finishes nursery on wednesday. he has picked thomas the tank engine pants, i have sweets (for when he tells me that he needs the loo) and raisins (for when he goes on the loo). he's also told everone we meet that mummy wee wee tolot.

quick q tho, he's shown no sign of liking the potty, instead he climbs onto the toilet shouting wee wee, should i just skip the potty?

penguinmum · 14/07/2007 16:17

Day 1 here. DD 2.3, 1 pair of wet pants, 1 wet nappy at nap time, 1 wet training pants, now washing car with DH, so won't notice if wet or not! Screams at potty, not much better with toilet seat, but got 2 weeks at home so seemed like a good idea to start. Is it always this hard at the beginning? Don't think I am ready for this!

penguinmum · 14/07/2007 16:31

just did a wee in the potty! much cheering and a big sticker on her chart! i need a life
