Ok, the thread's too long for me to something similar has been covered, but you seem quite impressed with it, so.......

DS2+3, 10 and 8, can sometimes be a pita at bedtime. (Sometimes aided and abetted by DS1).

They're loud and boisterous lads, and tbh most of the time they're only sitting talking, but they're soooo loud.

The problem is DH sometimes has vvv early starts and often goes to bed before them, and then is kept awake by their nattering.

What should we be saying to them to get them to show some consideration, be quieter, and ultimately go to blardy sleep?

I need positive vibes, please.

Tonight's the first night all three lads have been at home for a week.

They're all full of it (they've been on camp all weekend) but over-tired, and DS2 in particular is likely to be stroppy....

unknown - remind them of the discussion and the agreed plan. Otherwise they'll have forgotten won't they?

ahundredtimes · 27/05/2007 17:07

Very serious response. I seem to really care about this situation.

ahundredtimes · 27/05/2007 17:08

And what with you and that lady with the crow problem, I'm finding mumsnet emotionally draining.

unknownrebelbang · 27/05/2007 17:08

Lady with the crow???

(I will have a chat with them again after tea).

tricky with the older ones as they may not go with this - i remember from the same authors the book 'siblings without rivalry' about writing signs - for example 'quiet time' or 'quiet talking' on their door or the wall. you could let them talk for a while then put the signs up?
or have a quiet night time competition with the winner getting a sticker or other incentive in the morning
or failing that take all the lightbulbs out upstairs
have 3 ds's and have had varied success with all of the above

unknownrebelbang · 27/05/2007 17:15

How old are yours?

OP posts:
barking · 27/05/2007 19:57

2, 4 and 7

unknownrebelbang · 27/05/2007 23:25

DS2 sneaked into DS3's bedroom but did get straight into bed, and they were quiet.

I did move him out (he ended up in our bed because he's not feeing well) and they both went to sleep.

Am hoping he's just overtired rather than ill, especially as we go away for a few days tomorrow.

so sucess?

ahundredtimes · 28/05/2007 08:58

Is that a success or not unknown? Am unclear.

popsycal · 28/05/2007 10:47

where is the main thread?

read the book when ds1 was younger and it really worked....but think we need to go back to it again and need to refresh my memory.....

Dogsby · 28/05/2007 10:56

ahundretimes will ahev to step into my shoes
am off to aropouerto

ahundredtimes · 28/05/2007 22:43

oh god she's away and I'm in charge and I don't know HOW to do a link popsycal. Should never have been promoted.

Maybe someone will turn up and tell us, otherwise we're off to the archives all evening trawling through, getting dusty and a little tetchy with one another because I went left at Relationships, but Parenting is actually on the right. . . .

Zog · 28/05/2007 22:51

ahundredtimes, you do make me lol. Have you recovered from the crows thread yet?

FrannyandZooey · 28/05/2007 22:52

100 is it here you need help?

I will be back

FrannyandZooey · 28/05/2007 22:53

here you go

ahundredtimes · 28/05/2007 22:56

To be honest Zog I haven't. I really thought it'd all be over this morning, but apparantly they didn't turn up. So she's still there, and tomorrow morning....
Also Dogsby has a lot to answer for because not only did she leave me in charge of complex parenting issues but she also insisted the crow lady get stickers fgs. As if that'll help.

Zog · 28/05/2007 22:57

First rule of MN: don't listen to Dogsby

ahundredtimes · 28/05/2007 23:00

I can't help it. Am in her power. But as she's away, well

Zog · 28/05/2007 23:03

Well, quite. While she's off in her Resort Casual wear, livin' La Vida Loca, you have the keys to the filing cabinet...
