Ok, the thread's too long for me to something similar has been covered, but you seem quite impressed with it, so.......

DS2+3, 10 and 8, can sometimes be a pita at bedtime. (Sometimes aided and abetted by DS1).

They're loud and boisterous lads, and tbh most of the time they're only sitting talking, but they're soooo loud.

The problem is DH sometimes has vvv early starts and often goes to bed before them, and then is kept awake by their nattering.

What should we be saying to them to get them to show some consideration, be quieter, and ultimately go to blardy sleep?

DS3 went to bed for DH as planned whilst I was out.

DS2, alas, was up until erm, rather late.......thankfully he's on a school outdoor activity week, and he wasn't alone, lol.

ooh well done. Did you all sit down and talk it through and make a list about what to do?

unknownrebelbang · 22/05/2007 18:55

Yes, this is what we did...

Asked them for their thoughts, reiterated DH's needs (and mine, though less important in this context.)

Discussed various options, and decided what we're going to go with (and have actually planned out bedtimes for the whole week, depending on their commitments, and DH's shifts).

We've also discussed consequences, so that could be interesting..

You've got the BEDTIME SMARTS unknown. I bow before you.

ahundredtimes · 22/05/2007 19:06

But I can't hand out stickers or merits awards or anything, because I'm just monitor, so my praise will seem a little thin to you. You need Teach.

unknownrebelbang · 22/05/2007 19:07

rofl.

She's already praised me.

For that I'm grateful, lol.

We're very encouraging aren't we? I think we should set up professional advisory service, but then I'm only a minion who really shouldn't be getting such outlandish ideas. Also half-trained, like Clarks shoe fitters, as not yet done chapter six.

unknownrebelbang · 22/05/2007 23:09

Tis five chapters more than I've read, lol.

Well I usually just throw the trip switch - and tell them the leccy ran out - no lights or TV they soon get bored and go to sleep!

unknownrebelbang · 23/05/2007 17:03

We've done that too...

unfortunately it's too light to make a difference at the moment, lol.

is it workign?

hi 100

unknownrebelbang · 23/05/2007 17:09

Yes!!!!!!

Except...DS2 is on activity week, so DS3 is
doing really well, every night so far, he's been superb.

DS2 has always been a bit of a pain with bedtime, and am wondering how the week away will affect him, as he only did Saturday and Sunday (he was very good, I hasten to add).

Time will tell.

Keep up the good work. Are you slightly frightened by the attention you're getting from us? Nobody else will listen, but they will, they will, and we will talk so they listen and we will listen as they talk. It'll be great. A New World is Dawning.

hi dogsby.
People on mn are crying out for our services, we should charge. I'll look after the books, you do the strict stuff out front.
Also was reading dd a Flat Stanley story tonight, and Stanley said 'I've got the smarts'. He did, really. I laughed so much I fell off the bed.

controlfreaky2 · 23/05/2007 23:06

oh this is sooooo yesterday's news...... i've moved on to "liberated paerents, liberated children" same authours, same toe curling tone...... same blardy miraculous advice (but different iyswim....)

ahundredtimes · 23/05/2007 23:08

Liberation too? omg. Am going to Amazon now.

unknownrebelbang · 24/05/2007 00:09

Now, I don't mind talking and listening, just wondering if liberation is a step too far.......

unknownrebelbang · 24/05/2007 00:12

And nah, not frightened at all.

It's about time I had a bit of attention.

ahundredtimes · 24/05/2007 11:30

Deeply. Quite fond of Mrs Lambchop though, who though the spaceship a bit grey and took off from the fitness exercises to redecorate. dd fascinated.

Dogsby · 24/05/2007 11:30

ahundredtimes · 24/05/2007 11:33

Put it under book club - bit poncy though, as now feel like I strode into Starbucks and moaned about how much I hate coffee.
