I beat my kids

I beat and swear at my kids but always regret soon after. They are only 2.4 and 1.7 year old. My response towards them is very different, its mostly the elder one who is been beaten as he never misses a single chance of hitting or pushing his brother. Time out does not work for him as when i put him in his cot he starts happily playing in it.
I need to change my behaviour.

So you guys have never hit your kids?

OP posts:
fuzzywuzzy · 05/05/2006 22:35

Pomi do you not have family close at hand to help you out.
You do realise that your eldest isn't going to learn to stop hitting if you hit him to get him to stop.

Also I've found the time out is fine, even if the child in question starts playing, (at least their not fighting), my eldest dd knows if she hits her little sister she will be put in time out, and althoguh when she's in her room alone, she sings and plays, she doesn't particularly enjoy being taken away form her sisiter and the toys. So she does listen when I tell her to stop hitting her sister or go to her room.

NotAnOtter · 05/05/2006 22:35

'beaten' ....no
