Ok, been out for about an hour, fuse wire and M&S food hall. No poo before hand and no pll ps [v.v.brave emoticon]. No accidents

Passionflower · 21/02/2006 18:50

Tally for day three...

3 wee accidents
1 wee in potty
1 poo in potty (I smelt a guff and put her on pronto).
1 poo in nappy (changed for bed after bath, she told me "done a whoopsie")

Good was starting to get disheartened, thinking we were only catching thing in the pot by luck.

Will persevere

Am I too late to join bootcamp? Dd1 is 2.9 months, we started potty training in november when she was 2.6 months. It started ok and hshe go the hang pretty quickly. but, it's the poos. She prefers to do them in her knickers, anywhere but the potty or toilet. This morning I asked her if she was doing a poo and she said yes, I pulled her trousers down just in time to catch it and chuck it in the loo (thank god we were in the bathroom!), the rest went in the potty. it was a bit gross, although I obviously didn't say that to her! i tried to be all calm about catching my own daughters poo, but as dh said to me just now when he came home, "I bet you were thinking, 'I didn't sign up for this!'" Wees are ok, she does them reliably, only 1 or 2 accidents a week, if that, mainly when she's really tired, just before a nap.

Shall I start with star charts and choccy button bribery? ANyone else struggling with the poos? I also need advice on how I should deal with the poos? Neutral?? supportive lots of hugs?? I try not to lose it, but sometimes I have to leave the room for about 15 minutes to calm down

ok definite improvement on poo front. Got her to sit back on potty last night and poo in it properly to much applause and sticker andbuttons! Tonight she did poo in her nappy when it was bedtime but she told me she had done it.

At a loss with wees tho. She just will not do them on the potty. She had oen at around 7.30am and then didn't ahve another until 4.00pm. i thought after lunch she would be ready to go (she had had a lot to drink then aswell) she did sit on th epotty for a reasonable amount of time but nothing - althoughs he did jig around a bit. Went out and she wen to sleep for hour and half no nappy and no wee! Within 30 mins of being up big wee on the floor. Another after tea straight on floor - how am i going to get over this!!!! She's got her developmental check withhv's tomorrow so might see if they've had any experience of this (not holding out much hope tho). Oh and she did sit on the toilet before bath tonight - not too happy about it but sat there for two lots of counting to 10 which again is a big improvement.

Coddy, you are going to be sooo proud of us today.

We have been brave We went to town for the whole morning. Girly shopping expedition with stop at a cafe for drinks and chocolate brownies. One small wee accident in the car on the way home. So not too bad at all.

knat · 23/02/2006 14:48

cod went to hv this morning - no help really just suggested wot i'm already doing! Wee's are really gettinga problem - she just won't do them in the potty and if there's any sign that she wants one she may sit on the potty but not do it. Although when she wee'd in her nappy on getting up she did tell me she was doing a wee wee - so i spose that's anotehr small improvement. Maybe another month and we might be ther!!!!!

Passionflower · 23/02/2006 20:05

Zero in potty today!

5 wees and one poo on the floor, am starting to think I should give up and try again at easter, she doesn't seem to know the need a wee feeling yet.

Think she may be feeling under the weather today as she has been exceptionally whingy and has been hitting her sisters for no apparent reason.

Dd1 did 2 poos in the potty today! not sure why. This morning she did one in the potty and emptied it herself while I was bfing dd2 And before bath tonight she declared she had a poo coming out and sat on the loo and did it She got a chocolate ladybird and watched a DVD.
