Morning was great, just got thinking in the afternoon, maybe she's not ready cos she didn't seem to be aware of needing to wee/poo before hand.

Will see how tomorrow goes.

Elibean · 23/02/2006 22:18

I don't think dd knows the need-a-wee feeling either. Though she does sometimes say 'oh no, Mummy, poo' after she's done a pee
We have had one pee in the potty today, out of three sitting-sessions.
As soon as the weather gets a bit warmer, I'm going to try dumping the nappies....aaaaahhhh..

dollybird · 23/02/2006 23:29

Quick update:

Day 7 yesterday at nursery: 2 wee & 1 poo accidents, 2 wees on potty hmm

Day 8 today: four wees & 1 poo on potty - 0 accidents - hurrah! Poo was after bath and she said 'had a poo', whipped the pants down, nothing there & she did it on the potty. That's the nearest we've come to asking to go.

Am only telling her to try on the potty about every two hours. I think that's where it went wrong at nursery as they took her every half an hour.

yes, cod, still nappying. She's 2.1, but was a late walker and only just doing stairs. Up until two weeks ago, she thought potties were for putting two feet in and giggling hysterically, and flatly refused to sit on one minus trousers.
My instinct is to get her used to a couple of regular potty-sittings each day, hopefully get some slightly warmer weather, and get her through a big cold she's got right now - then try going nappy-less for a day to get some idea of whether she (and I) are really ready.
In other words, I'm a wuss.

waterfalls · 24/02/2006 14:31

Cod, would you be able to give me your advise with this ?

Passionflower · 24/02/2006 18:31

Today DH left me to sleep in till 8.30 so inevitably she had a wee in her nappy by the time I was up and about.

Told her to go after brekkie (we were about to do big supermarket shop) she said "no", then appeared to think about it and changed her mind got on the pot and did a big wee.

However this afternoon 4 wee accidents and a poo accident too .

It's very frustrating (Not that I'm letting on to her) just when she convinces me that she's getting the idea it all goes horribly wrong.
Seems to be worse in the afternoon for some reason. [perplexed emoticon]

dollybird · 24/02/2006 19:24

Hmm.. not quite so good today

2 wees in potty (one of which was when she made funny noises, poked her 'bits' and said yes when I asked if she needed the toilet - slight progress) but:
2 wees in pants and was v.stubborn about getting into clean clothes etc - old dd returning I fear.

knat · 24/02/2006 20:02

well -a glimmer of light today. DD was weeing on the floor and i lifted her up and put on the potty and she SAT DOWN!!!! and finished wee on potty - done this three times today!!! Let's hope it's onwards and upwards from here. She would never let em do this before would scream blue murder and run round weeing everywhere before!

fastasleep · 26/02/2006 23:39

Can you guys give me any tips on bus travel? Trying the PT on Tuesday, but no car and have to go out on Friday (40 mins each way on the bus) not including 20 minute walk when we get there... how do I manage a potty on the bus and the walking bit etc? DS is 2.0 and DD will be in a sling with us too...

Thanks in advance, I always get all in a tizz about one small thing before I try anything big!

dollybird · 27/02/2006 11:58

Well, have had major breakthrough this weekend with DD coming and telling me she needed a wee!! Only one accident in two days. Think we have turned a corner now :)

well quick update. DD is now amenable to goin gon potty when half way through a wee and so as long as in room when she decides to wee we get some on and she gets rewards/praise etc. Poo, again she will sometimes go when she's halfway through - sometimes not!. If she knows she wants a wee tho she won't go on until she decides to have it and then will go on half way through! Small steps i think!

WideAwake · 27/02/2006 14:37

COD almighty...
what am I to do, Fastasleep is intent on this potty training lark but DS is a little monster :) he has a real toilet fetish and will constantly drag me away from my games console/book to go and look at the toilet being flushed, not that he needs to go, he just thinks its the best thing since sliced bread. How am I going to hold my head up in the pub when I take in a seat converter?? should I just make out its for me and that I've developed an abhorrence of the stinking gents toilets and mingin seats I usually find there??

Passionflower · 27/02/2006 17:48

Coddy have had to take a 'break' from potty training Sad. DH has got it into his head that DD3 is not ready SadSad. Drowing in poo and wee I can cope with but not being 'I told you so'd' every time she has an accident.

On the plus side DD is now telling me every time she does a wee in her nappy so may have another go in a week or two.

Thank you for all your support this time, it has really helped. Smile

dollybird · 27/02/2006 19:40

Passionflower - how annoying for you that your DH is not supportive :( Good luck for a few weeks time! I will warn you though, they soon seem to get used to a nappy again!

Well, DD has had no accidents today - at home with DH and he left the potty in the loo and she made it in there on time after saying she needed a wee (went on toilet in fact!). Think we may be able to graduate soon, although two days of nursery now...

Passionflower · 28/02/2006 12:02

Umm, well backing off over the pt seems to be helping (arghh, hate it when DH is right).

DD3 has been consistently telling me when she has weed/pooed in her nappy. Just got back from swimming and DD3 said "done mucky bum", I checked and nothing in nappy so put her on potty and voila wee in potty!Smile

freshstart · 28/02/2006 14:32

I have terrible confession

fastasleep · 28/02/2006 14:33

I'M DROWNING IN POOOOOOO HEEEEEEELP!!!!

That's about it really, we've had one solitary tiny poo in the potty, everything else is all over the house. Yay.

dollybird · 28/02/2006 21:09

Yay! DD came home from nursery in the same trousers she went in!! Unfortunately had a wee accident at home as she walked past DH to shout up the stairs to me that she needed a wee (I was in the loo!) and DH couldn't hear her as he was in the kitchen with DS bending his ear and the radio on! That's what I call a proper accident :)
