DD is still, I kid you not, sat on the potty! Keep asking her if she wants to get off for a bit but she is saying no. I think she is determined to stay on it till something happens.

She is 2.2

The jelly babies are great.

PiccadillyCircus · 20/02/2006 10:31

And I have also finally persuaded DH that DS does npt need to wear pullups if he is leaving the house .

I think DH is more scared of wee and poo than me

PiccadillyCircus · 20/02/2006 10:33

DS ften sits on the potty for ages. Something generally comes out . He is 2.2

He will be 2.3 in two days.

DD3 has now been on the potty for an hour and a quarter!

Passionflower · 20/02/2006 10:48

DD has just presented me with a tiny little wee in the potty. Much celebrations ensuing plus extra jell babies.

Doubtless she will now do an extra large something on the floor.

Passionflower · 20/02/2006 11:41

1st accident of the day, largish wee.

dollybird · 20/02/2006 12:03

Well, things go from good to better!:

Day 1: 3 accidents
Day 2: 2 accidents
Day 3: 1 accident
Day 4: 0 accidents!!!!!!!!!

However, all of these are after us telling dd to go on potty - we are taking her about every hour. Not sure how to get her from being taken to asking to go!! DH is with kids today and is out of house most of the day due to plasterer being in the house all day. They are all meeting me for lunch so will find out how they got on in about 1/2 hour.

Luchtime update.

2 wee accidents.
1 miniscule poo in the potty (think she maybe a bit constipated, vv unusual for her) She said poo bum, I whipped off pants which were clean and put her on pot.

PiccadillyCircus · 20/02/2006 12:34

Glad to hear that having to ask/tell DS to have a wee is OK (I think I was expecting him to suddenly be d oing it all for himself).

knat · 20/02/2006 15:00

ok cod quick update. Had a couple of tiny little poos in potty (more luck in that she was half going and managed to persuade to sit on potty and i think poo just sort of fell off - tmi) - she then went big poo on teh carpet! but at least this gave us opportunity to reward her . Teh last 3 days she has gone and sat on teh potty herself (not donething) but sat on teh edge and then today she's shuffled herself backwards to sit on it properly. So maybe she's getting a little more comfortable with it! i hope so. Still no accidents when outa ndabout tho so thank goodness for that otherwise i would be tearing my hair out by now! 4 weeks on Wednesday!

What a bl**ding day! Am not calm anymore!

It's not DD's fault though, just adverse circumstances.

Time to fess up I used the dreaded Pll ps. We went to mums for lunch - no probs. Sat on the potty there for quite a while but still managed to wee on the carpet. Then we had to go out to an osteopath apt for DD1 at 3.30pm and DD3 still had not pooed. Just couldn't face the inevitable pooey knickers at the surgery so whimped out and put the banned items on. Probably a good thing though as she did an epic poo just as we went in for the apt.

I just can't understand how a child that has spent so much time on the potty can have put so little into it.

Anyway tally for day 2 is:

5 wee accidents
1 poo accident
1 wees in potty (they were literally the size of teardrops)
1 poo in potty (the size of a rabbit dropping)

At least she is still keen to sit so will stick it out tommorrow.

Revised update, while I was typing this post DD sat on the potty unprompted and did a decent sized wee in it [unconfined joy emoticon]

knat · 20/02/2006 19:23

don't worry have no intention of givingup. Seems quite impressed with smiley sticker fces which are the stickers she's getting for potty. When dh came in her face lit up when she told him she had got a smiley face sticker - still having accidents and it's only by chance that poos are going in potty - albeit rabbit dropping size!

dollybird · 20/02/2006 20:39

Update for day 5 (with DH all day!!)

1 wee accident
1 poo in potty
1 wee in potty

Not sure it's normal to only wee twice in a day at this age (ds quite often only wees a couple of times a day and that includes night aswell! but he is 3.9)

DH was telling her to go on potty every two hours roughly. She has nursery tomorrow & wednesday - I think they take them every half hour which will annoy her. If she doen't need to go she says 'I don't need a wee wee', so hopefully soon she will say when she does need to go. Am getting her to pull her trousers/pants down each time.

Elibean · 20/02/2006 22:22

Today's update (now I'm back in charge)...
Nothing in potty after breakfast (left it too late) but two pees in potty after tea/supper. DD likes her Smiley stickers, but her big treat is pulling Kandoo wipes out of the box and carrying the potty herself to the loo to be emptied. A dangerous treat, don't recommend it.
Any tips on teaching 2 year olds to pull trousers and tights down? And up?!

Passionflower · 21/02/2006 09:37

DD seems to have decided to spend entire morning sat on potty again. Can't persuade her to get off and try again later. Cod, should I be more forcefull about getting her off or should I just leave her to it. Am a bit worried that she'll end up making her bum sore from so much sitting and go off it altogether? Never had this prob with the others.

Passionflower · 21/02/2006 10:30

OK she has now done wee in potty and got off. Reckon she is getting the idea.

Passionflower · 21/02/2006 12:27

Ok luchtime update for day three.

2 wee accidents
1 wee in potty
0 poo
