Ciao tutte!!

OP posts:
Bucharest · 02/04/2010 13:37

Every episode, for the whole 10 years they've been doing it......

Camomilla · 02/04/2010 14:28

oh, no franca, but rosa's right, they have to

supposed to be packing and instead I'm here watching home and away..... I HATE PACKING!!!!! at least if dp was here I wouldn't slac, but he's gone to take ds to a b-day party with dd miles away (was meant to be at house down the road, but they changes plans at the last min so they've gone miles away) actually, for once I know what to take and not too many things - mum will complain at the lack of colour, but hey, black goes with everything . even ds's bag will be easy but dd will be more difficult as I always bring too much for her, but then she goes throuhg at least one outfit a day.... would I be too ridiculous flying in my ugg boots? I know it's meant to warm up next week, but for the next couple of days it looks like here...

Bucharest · 02/04/2010 14:34

They have to refund unless, like Ryanair, the flight is cancelled due to something like weather, in which case they trot out a clause about passenger safety being compromised had they flown, and then they don't have to do shit.

Easyjet are nicer though, so she should be OK.

spaghettina · 02/04/2010 18:43

Franca, don't worry you should get a refund sooner or later, i did after the snow-related debacle at Christmas. Just be persistent with the website/call centre and enjoy your time in London, beata te! have a sickly Cadbury's creme egg for me...

Today I am 39 weeks + 6 so i had to go to hospital for a checkup - no sign of imminent labour and the baby is fine so this could go on for days...have to go back on Wednesday for the "tracciato". Meanwhile, my phone won't stop ringing with people wanting to know "how I am" (i.e. have you had it yet?), or "what are your plans for Easter" they're all very sweet and well meaning but I can see this beginning to get rather annoying!

Rosa · 03/04/2010 14:25

Spaghettina Creme egg I wouldn't mind one to be honest ....just the 1 mind ! I am hoping dh gets me a Lindt red egg ( the baby one) as being on a diet that is all I will permit my self to have ( yeah right !)
Hope it all goes well for you and I would screen all the calls !!!!
Its not too bad here today a 'fresh' wind but the sun is trying to stay out forecast is terrible though !
Buona Pasqua Tutti............

spaghettina · 03/04/2010 15:05

Red Lindor is much nicer (and classier) than Creme eggs and actually my favourite... yum.

Most of my friends have gone away for Easter now so the phone's stopped ringing, but I've been having irregular contractions since 1am so at least if anyone does call now, I have something to tell them

Rosa · 03/04/2010 16:16

I know I love the red ones but one leads to another thats whay I have said just the one but I know he will have forgotten !!!
Ooooo well irregular contractions lead to regular ones maybe teh time is right and you will have an Easter bunny baby ?????

Sputnik · 03/04/2010 18:48

Good luck Spaghe!
Guess what kind of eggs we got for the easter egg hunt tomorrow . I really like the black lindors but couldn't find them. Unfortunately it's forecast to rain all day here, so might have to do it indoors.

Rosa · 04/04/2010 08:07

SPut I am on the way ...I am doing an Easter egg hunt next year as dd will enjoy it this yesr Dh has done proud putting together the soprese from the Kinder eggs who ever thinks them up should be have a medal!!!!
Its not raining here yet infact it looks quite nice......

Francagoestohollywood · 05/04/2010 20:40

Happy Easter everyone!

Spaghettina???

London was fantastic as usual, if only a bit cold. But at least, contrary to the forecast, it didn't rain. The children loved it and were delighted to see their friends.
I didn't have cream eggs, as I'm not keen, but I did buy cheddar cheese .

Sputnik · 05/04/2010 21:17

Ha, in Toscana it rained most of yesterday and today, cold too!
Managed the easter egg hunt before it started though.
Glad you had a good time.

Oh and DS managed his first proper 2 word phrase: "kiss mummy".
Well actually he said "kiss daddy" but he calls us both daddy, and it was me he then kissed.

Francagoestohollywood · 05/04/2010 21:29

Oh bless him !

Sounds like we stroke lucky then, very cold, but dry at least!

Camomilla · 06/04/2010 00:24

buona pasqua a tutti!

sput, thats lovely, after months of just 'papapapa'" we're both mama.

nearly didn't get here on sat (1/2hr to check in as DCs are on my passport, apparently a sign they need their own - which they have, but whichcause all sorts of troubles as we've got different surnames, and that was just the beginning), flight was nightmare,i forgot my specs, so having to put contacs on as soon as i get up and take them off as i go to bed - can't see pass my nose otherwise, and i got a big nose! usual arguments here, but had lovely paasquetta with friends and their babies, all about dd's age. dd though been clingy and won't go with anyone (so yet another source of criticism for mum, like her tantrums) and won't go to bed, so not having the rest i was hoping for, quite the opposite. but never mind....

can't believe how cold it is (and poor ds thought he was going to mare), last year it was so warm!!

spaghe, I spoke to my mum whilst in labour, but didn't tell her, otherwise there would have been even more calls!! fingers crossed

anyway, good night!!

Rosa · 06/04/2010 12:26

Sputnik that is great progress and how lovely !
Franca glad you had a nice time - I have just had a bit of a Kinder egg and I have to say I prefer the chocolate to that of Dolce Preziosi and Nestle ( SIL bought them !)
Camo its a lovely day today so maybe dd could get a bit of mare in ok maybe with trousers and t shirts on... Sounds like your little one is like Minirosa takes a while to settle in anywhere .

Rosa · 06/04/2010 12:26

Oh and I have decided that I want to vote in the Uk election now just need to find out how -BUCHAREST???????

Francagoestohollywood · 06/04/2010 12:43

Camo, hopefully a bit of nice weather is coming your way, it's gorgeous today in Milan! (I haven't dared checking the weather forecast though!).

I wish I could vote in the UK as well . Mind you, I'd be in for a disappointment there as well.

Rosa · 06/04/2010 12:49

Found the form I now need a British person to witness the info on the bloo*y form - My friends are away this week so I now have to hunt somebody out - This form is only missing a marca di bollo and it could be Italian. It aslso asks if I was registered to vote in the Uk I was but I can't remember when or where - I wasn't bothered now but if my vote can help to keep somebody out of parliament then I am going to give it !

Francagoestohollywood · 06/04/2010 12:52

I used to vote from the UK for Italian general elections as I was registered with AIRE (associazioone italiani all'estero), isn't it similar for the UK?

Rosa · 06/04/2010 13:03

I guess it is but the witness thing threw me .
I have just looked at the weather forecast and its sun until Sunday !!!!!
I just hope the mozzies don't start as I haven't washed the nets yet and then it takes me ages to put them up as I get the wrong ones in the windows. In the new house ( which we sign on April 13 and then its a long rebuild!) I am having fitted ones and it is high on the priority list !

Francagoestohollywood · 06/04/2010 13:06

you are signing so soon!n Congrats rosa, I'm so excited on your behalf!

Rosa · 06/04/2010 13:24

Not there yet but when we have the keys in hand then the fun will start I just hope we don't fall out too much in the process and I don't go insane with the paperwork and permits etc which will be the next big hurdle and I have been told that as its Venezia niente is easy.....

Francagoestohollywood · 06/04/2010 13:26

Yes, I know what you mean. Will you be your own project manager or will you have a geometra/architect?

Rosa · 06/04/2010 14:01

We think its sensible if we use an architect. We are hoping to use the same one as the bank ( the bank use one to monitor works as we will be spending their money !!!)However the bank guy is young ( ok so with fresh ideas but not much experience) or do we go for a matured Venetian local who knows the ins and outs and any possible truffe ?
We have an engineer friend who has offered to suggest a few imprese and give us some free info at this point any info / suggestions we can get is important. Even if we have an architecet me thinks you need to really keep behind them anyway but not sure if dh really grasps the concept fully ..YET !

Francagoestohollywood · 06/04/2010 15:51

Mmmm it's a difficult decision between the young with fresh ideas and the experienced one... mmmmmmmmm!

I think that if you have 2 or 3 imprese with good references is a really good start. I know that in Milan the average cost of total restoration is around 1000 euro per square meters.

SuiGeneris · 07/04/2010 11:00

Hi everyone, sorry for the long absence- have been ill and then our internet connection packed up. Now both broadband and I are better, and babySG is happily napping, so here we are.

Sput, how sweet of your son!

BabySG was happily napping. Laters!
