Hello, welcome, benvenuti

OP posts:
PincoPallino · 14/12/2009 20:48

Congrats Michymama on no 3 and the move! I do remember you posting here a while ago, no?

Francagoestohollywood · 14/12/2009 21:08

I've just watched 30 seconds of rai1 (after a glorious episode of the wire), Bruno Vespa stroking a replica of the duomo's modellino while interviewing Berlusconi's doctor, who has the same voice of Mr B

They always manage to turn a tragic episode like this one into a farsa.

Camo well done with the red dress!

SG: I'm glad you have some help for Christmas, I like your menu

Pippi: how's it going?

Bucharest · 15/12/2009 08:22

Eurgh to Bruno stroking the Duomo. It did look very pointy though!

I am very very worried about Emilio Fede, he is going to have a stroke before the week is out if he doesn't calm down. Did anyone see him waggling his finger and saying "You know who you are!" (Di Pietro and La Bindi)

I'm also looking for nice dresses for dd (and me, dd says she has never seen me in a frock, which is true, so I thought I'd shock everyone on Christmas Day- I hovered over a Boden one on Friday but thought, no, and now wish I had as it is, of course, out of stock now.)

Which thread is Franca boning Moratti on

AlliwantforXmasisMcnultysbum · 15/12/2009 11:46

Message for Camo: your computer has a virus, just received a spam email from your account. Sorry.

Francagoestohollywood · 15/12/2009 11:52

here buch

I do have a frock for Christmas ! Bought lovely dress 2 months ago, too lovely for normal day to day life , so I'm saving it for christmas day!

Bucharest · 15/12/2009 11:52

Oooh, is it one of those buying cheap fridges ones? Or is it the secret services looking after Berlusca?

PincoPallino · 15/12/2009 12:14

So did I Camo!

All fine, thanks Franca, just minipippi with temp, possibly teething, so no sleep and grumpiness all around.

big pippi xmas play today and tomorrow.

AlliwantforXmasisMcnultysbum · 15/12/2009 12:37

They are real leccaculo that BC and EF. (incase the secret services are watching us, I am going to use only their initials)

I still havent watched the HIGNewsforyou with Bum, tonight with a glass of wine and a mincepie and dp...

PincoPallino · 15/12/2009 12:39

Bum minipippi is very distressed today and she does not seem to wet her nappy. She has slept very little last night and yet she has still not gone to bed. She screams when I try , now!, and keeps saying wee wee but then the nappy is dry, she drinks though. I last changed her at 8 !

Should I take her to the GP? Is she dehidrated?

Might need to call dh back home.

Rosa · 15/12/2009 12:51

She might have an infection or something I would take her to be checked out especially if she has not weed for ages.Poor thing she sounds distressed.
Cold aqua alta this morning with a cold wind but its not a damp wind !!!!
LAst night Dh got so angry with everybody talking about Berlusca that he turned the tv off in a huff !!!!

Francagoestohollywood · 15/12/2009 12:57

Pippi, I'd ring the gp asap, she really sounds distressed and if it's a uti or cistite it does hurt and she needs appropriate medicines asap.
Let us know how it goes.

AlliwantforXmasisMcnultysbum · 15/12/2009 13:19

Yes, it can be cistite, poor girl. Apparently cranberry juice makes the cistite go away, or have i just made that up? Is it worth doing a&e rather than wait for the gp who might make you wait anyway? good luck...

Francagoestohollywood · 15/12/2009 13:30

I don't think cranberry juice alone can cure a severe bout of cistite... but it is a good idea to drink it regularly as a form of prevention.

minervaitalica · 15/12/2009 14:35

Pinco, sorry to hear about DD - I hope you can get it sorted out soon - GP should see her as a priority/emergency case (they do it for adults if you suspect cystitis). Loads of kisses and cuddles in the meantime!

And I disappeared in the last few days as I had more job interviews and had to prepare a bit - I have to say it is really depressing though. It's not that I cannot get a job, it's the: "you will do the same job as before, you will work the same hours as in London, but we will pay you 80% less" that gets me. Life here does not cost 80% less though. Maybe I am being ungrateful, but at the moment I feel like getting on a Ryanair flight to somewhere and not coming back. Ever.

Apologies for the rant but I wish I never left the UK right now. Either that or I am hormonal.

Francagoestohollywood · 15/12/2009 15:12

Eeeeeeh minerva, sadly that's the reality here ...

TheMysticMasseuse · 15/12/2009 17:24

Pinco- how's dd??? dd1 has an ear infection and we have to fly on friday.... and then i have to fly next week... and BA will be on strike... AAARGGHHH

Minerva.... I am so sorry to hear that the job interviews are depressing you. we talked a while back about a career change? have you shelved that? did you like your original job? would you still get satisfaction from doing it (putting aside the monetary compensation, which depending on your sector could have been artificially inflated in the UK anyway....) i don't know the original motivations for moving back but would it help to reiterate them? is coming back an option? have you and dh left yourselves an open door? sorry lots of questions, maybe not helpful

talk about hormonal though. i am really depressed and grumpy. today i am wandering around like a zombie, not even starting on my huuuuuge to do list, my flat still looks like a bombzone and i am nowhere near to tidying up and packing as i was 3 months ago.... can't stand to be around dds (luckily my super-nanny is still here oooooh my god what am i going to do without her)... i keep watching twilight every night in order to escape reality but i am sure that's not helping, i feel like i am departing in some sort of parallel reality...

Camomilla · 15/12/2009 20:02

thanks Mcnulty, got into work this morning and saw two emails from myself.... stupid hijackers!

pinco, hope dd's better, poor thing and DD1, MM.

MM, have a big tub of icecream tonight, that'll give you energy to pack seriously, I don't envy you, I panick just at the thought of moving one day! and with everything else, I can't imagine how hard it is.and fingers crossed you can fly

hope things improve for you MI, that's the first reason I give for not going back .

absolutely knackered, people wanting stuff cleared before xmas, only waking up now that xmas is next week... and came home to half a xmas tree - dd's broken 5 decorations and in the end dp gave up and put all the rest on the top half of the tree! she now pulls on the tree, soon it'll be on her

Francagoestohollywood · 15/12/2009 21:13

Pinco, I hope everything is fine.

Oh Masseuse . I'm the same. I tend to seek refuge in a parallel universe when I feel frustrated or not content.
But but but but... you know you need to take action now, at least with the practicalities. I promise it's going to make you feel better

Camo... your poor christmas tree... I can't help but at your dd. Che cheeky monkey

Dh has bought me a pair of Ugg boots for christmas (after me being all bossy) and wasn't happy: "you made go into a negozio da paninari for those ugly boots !!!" He'll never forgive me!

Sputnik · 15/12/2009 21:41

Ah poor MM, it can't help with the packing when you have no motivation to do it at all. I am pretty useless with these things, but how about setting a timer to do a particular task and/or starting off with 1 thing a day?

Pinco hope your DD is ok and you have seen someone.

Congrats on being firm with your DH Franca!

TheMysticMasseuse · 15/12/2009 22:03

you are right franca i should ditch the vamps for a while and focus! tomorrow morning i have set aside 3 hours to pack non stop, dd1 at nursery and dd2 with nanny.... will lock the computer somewhere.

lol at dh going in the negozio di paninari!

camo- i recognise your description of the work panic before xmas. serioulsy, people are so crap at planning..

TheMysticMasseuse · 16/12/2009 10:02

ok Franca i have tidied up/packed for one hour and 7 minutes can i have a tea break and a bit of MN please?????

Francagoestohollywood · 16/12/2009 11:22

Oh well done Masseuse (I hope I haven't come across as patronizing... I'm terrible at getting organized, being efficient etc. I am great at cazzeggio! And the more I waste my time, the more I get anxious about wasting it and seek refuge in even more cazzeggio to ease the anxiety . So I know that the only solution is forcing myself in doing something)

AlliwantforXmasisMcnultysbum · 16/12/2009 11:23

snowing in london!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Francagoestohollywood · 16/12/2009 11:28

Ooooh
Freezing but sunny here.
Bum, have you got any news on minipippi? I hope she is ok now.

AlliwantforXmasisMcnultysbum · 16/12/2009 12:16

Yes, Minipippi is better, but with febbre alta and on tamiflu.
