Franca hope dd better

Rosa · 04/12/2009 13:11

Oh nappies not a hope of cloth here as just could not get them dry - my house looks like a laund anyway after 1 wash in this weather and I do amlost 1 a day at the mo...

Francagoestohollywood · 04/12/2009 13:12

I love the way they use the verb "parlay"

Oh rosa, poor dd! (shite weather here too, btw)

Bucharest · 04/12/2009 13:33

Franca, Alberto Stasi has same serial killer eyes as Sollecito and coincidentally, but rather offputtingly, as my halitosis-afflicted scuola media boy.....yeuch.

Stasi seems very calculatedly calm. I get the cases a bit mixed up, is this the case which also rests on a computer? His computer being used at the presumed time of death? Or is that Sollecito?

Hang 'em all, I say. And what about poor old Brenda? Dd keeps making us howl with laughter, I try to have her in bed before the news starts but she keeps throwing her hands in the air and saying "ma! sempre questa Brenda!!"

Bucharest · 04/12/2009 13:35

Meant to say, other Playmobil site also expensive. Check out the German sites. (It's made there so a bit cheaper) But best of all are the UK sites with promos. (I'm waiting for the hospital to come back into John Lewis's. It was £79 which is mucho different to 189 euro.)

AlliwantforXmasisMcnultysbum · 04/12/2009 14:00

Who is Stasi? and Brenda?

TheMysticMasseuse · 04/12/2009 14:10

hello!!! just a major LOL moment at the raft of baltimore names soon to invade the baby names board- can you imagine? "Little brother for DeAngelo?" "How about Stringer?" and if it's a girl? "Donette" naaaa Donette too posh man, why you go calling her that? And in the end they'll all be called Prop Joe

dd1 just asked me why i was laughing so i told her aout my friend Franca

if i have another baby i'll most def call him OOOOOOOOmar!
glad to see another convert Penthe. Season 2 will blow you away (although v v different from season 1)

TheMysticMasseuse · 04/12/2009 14:15

btw mcnultysbutt- glad you chose my suggestion for new name [ leechy pervie emoticon]

AlliwantforXmasisMcnultysbum · 04/12/2009 14:20

my favourite name which i actually considered for dd is Nerese, , cannot remember in which series of hte Wire.

AlliwantforXmasisMcnultysbum · 04/12/2009 14:21

MM, you should change your name too!

Camomilla · 04/12/2009 14:24

hello

well done Rosa, we still have no idea what to get the DC.... was quite set on the ikea kitchen, but they won't get any til Feb now (DP said he'd sell 3 per night, as people came in to buy them, but they only get a set number per store, all worked out on where they are, so Lakeside still have them, but none in croydon ).

hello Penthe!

Where's pippi gone? is Brangelina ok?

yes, I use cloth nappies (well, DD that is). it realy depends on what tipe etc re drying time. I have a few terry squares (which thought I'd never ever try and then found they're actually not as difficult as they seem) I use for home/emergencies and "2-parters" (DP's favourites because he finds them simpler), but our main ones are these (in ivory, orange, lime, pepermint, jade, yellow, fushia, pink, purple, turquoise, red - most of them secondhand). no poo-scraping, we use liners, so straight in loo, I do tumble dry sometimes, but they go in the wash/tumble with the rest of the whites, so no extra work really. we also use disposables occasionally, so not "purist". DD's bum was definetly the cutest when we were in italy in the summer though

Francagoestohollywood · 04/12/2009 14:28

at ma sempre questa Brenda

McNultysbutt, stop getting so pissed on tequila shots and get thee on www.repubblica.it, or corriere or any other newspaper of your fancy (actually, I think the guardian might have written about Brenda)

MM . Actually, I was planning to post such suggestions on those prim PFB name threads, like "A middle name for Clementine?" or a third brother to Alfie and Carlotta...? What about Prop joe or Poot?

Francagoestohollywood · 04/12/2009 14:35

Hello Camo. Such a shame re the toy kitchen (imo toy kitchen are one of the best presents ever!)

Buch, but does John Lewis deliver all the way to Italy? Or do you have stuff delivered to an address in the UK?
I have bought the dc presents for Christmas, but I'm too lazy and mani bucate, so I went to 2 of my fav toyshops in Milan . I didn't buy huge things though. I got 2 playmobil sets (the guardia forestale and the vet's) and they were about 25 euros each. I think (smemorata)

Camomilla · 04/12/2009 14:50

yes, we have the old plastic one, but the poor thing is falling apart after 4 kids... they both spend so much time playing with it.

might look at playmobil for ds...

Bucharest · 04/12/2009 15:07

Not sure JL do, I have stuff delivered to my Mum's. But other UK sites deliver over here.
And tbh, most of our playmobil comes via ebay.
mcNulty Brenda is a Brazilian transexual who has died in a housefire following her revelation that the head of Lazio region was erm, frequenting soirees held by her and her friends......

Francagoestohollywood · 04/12/2009 15:22

But what is even more suspicious is that Marrazzo has been blackmailed by 3 Carabinieri, who had a video of him having sex with a transexual prostitute.
And Berlusconi was aware of the existence of this video (as it was posted to il giornale and other newpapers/magazines of his) and didn't go to the Magistrati first thing

Camomilla · 04/12/2009 16:18

usual stuff then...

was reading the paper on-line and saw that asilo video

sooooooooooooo cold here today, froze my legs just going to pick DS up in the car! was going to go to ikea to get a thank you present for my friend who's coming over last night, but soooooo scared of going out again....

Francagoestohollywood · 04/12/2009 16:41

Are they really showing the video ! I was reading repubblica online yesterday and they said they wouldn't show it, which I think is the right thing to do. What an awful, tragic, horrible story.

Rosa · 04/12/2009 16:47

I cannot even read the papers about that asilo - I just feel sick to the stomach that people can even do this .these kind of people should be locked up and not permitted out . But knowing teh Italian system who knows when it will come to court . The Meridith case as it was stranieri it seemed to go through much quicker than say the Cogne woman.

Camomilla · 04/12/2009 17:11

I think it was more of a question of who you can afford to have defending you, in the Cogne case - they showed in on tg1, you can't really see much because the things (very technical term) that cover the poor kids' faces cover a lot, but the little I saw made me feel so sick .

Francagoestohollywood · 04/12/2009 17:14

I think it was very wrong to show the video. Given that just reading what's happened in that place sends shivers down one's spine. Just awful. Unbelievable. Thank goodness they filmed it and took parents' suspicious seriously.

Francagoestohollywood · 04/12/2009 17:15

suspicions

Camomilla · 04/12/2009 17:34

i know, after that and the nursery here, maybe there should be cameras in all nurseries/asili like the one I visited for ds, where parents can log in and check on their kids, but at the same time I don't want to be automatically suspicious IYKWIM. wish I could have sent the DC to my asilo, dalle suore, a part from the madre superiora (a dictator, though she'd only threaten us with "non vi faccio fare la prima comunione")

Camomilla · 04/12/2009 17:36

(pressed too soon.... sentence should finish

everyone was lovely
