Oh yes, it'd be fun. How does it work?

OP posts:
Francasaysrelax · 30/11/2009 09:49

I know it's early for the decs to go up, but I do have very festive (and impatient) dc

TheMysticMasseuse · 30/11/2009 09:53

PincoPallino are you pippi?

MI, well done on last minute interview, hope you get it (do you want it?). i had an interview too last week and got the job, but i don't want it it makes me sound really shallow and spoiled but it's so not me, still i am quite flattered that i was offered a job in a field where i have zero experience on the strenght of a 45 minutes meeting (but hten the words of groucho marx spring to mind...)

Gio at your primadonna ds, was it him that told the babysitter she couldn't use that towel beucase e' l'asciugamano del pisello di papa'? i still laugh about it from time to time.

all good here, in full blown moving panic, weather sucks, head buried very deeply under the sand so not a single item has been packed yet. put minimasseuse down for a nap as she was shattered from being up half the night, but better go wake her up or else bye bye afternoon nap and hello grouchy baby...

not starting to eat pandoro or i'll be sick of it by the 10th december- but we're putting up the advent calendar tomorrow yyyuuumm!

Francasaysrelax · 30/11/2009 10:01

Masseuse, no, it doesn't make you shallow. But isn't it boosting your confidence? Well done!

Oh I have to go out. Noooooooooooooooooooo.

OP posts:
Francasaysrelax · 30/11/2009 10:02

And please don't buttarti giu'. You are good, competent and smart. You'll find something you want to do, I'm sure ( at groucho marx)

PincoPallino · 30/11/2009 10:08

Oui c'est moi! Not for long though.

No that was Brangelina DD. Priceles that was.

MM so where is this job. In G? At least it means you are good and wanted. I imagine in this particular moving period nothing will seem good anyway.

Forgot about the advent calendar s$%&$%&*!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I too must run out with vile vile weather. NOOOOOOO!!!!

Camomilla · 30/11/2009 10:49

hello!

MI - well done and fingers crossed!

Franca, made your arrosto last night, deeeeeeeelicious (though slightly overcooked as DP just let it cook while I was having a overdue shower)

MM, fingers crossed for you too, but even if you don't want the job, always nice to be offered one...

no decorations here yet, need to sort out the house first and then with DD, well, I'm scared for the lovely wooden trains and rocking horses etc, they just made it through DS's toddlerhood so better not have the tree up too long.

Francasaysrelax · 30/11/2009 12:20

lol I had forgotten the that's for pisello del papa'
Priceless, indeed

Camo , I'm glad you liked it .

Yes, Christmas tree and small inquisitive toddlers are a dangerous combination (shivers at the memory...)

Ok, shall I have another piadina? Me thinks yes...

No rain yet here but we had massive acqua alta again. I went to school without dd to do some copies for my next lesson and I only just made it through with knee high boots 2 hrs after the peak ! They say its going to rain later.
We have 2 advent calandars ( phew)and think we might selotape the tree to the floor !
I love a real pine tree but we have one in the UK. NOrmally I buy off cuts of trees ( !!!) and make them into a wreath and table decorations so I have the smell of pine in the house which I love . NOt sure if I will have time this year.
Minirosa has started walking ....... ( Rosa trembles at the though of the book shelf climbing and sofa climbing etc etc )
Secret Santa we better get a move on if we are going to do it.
Basically it works that somebody has to co oridnate it and everybody who wants to contribute emails name and addresses then the co oridnator allocates a name and we all post a regalo up to an agreeed limit. I'm all for it .... ( It is secret so you don't put who its from mind you if anybody gets anything from Venice or Milan then its pretty easy to guess who they will be from !!)

Rosa · 30/11/2009 12:25

Co ordinate even ..sorry speedy typing and not checking......

AntonioGramsci · 30/11/2009 12:31

Just popping in to to say hello, will read posts later. I hoep you are all well. Lots of rain in London yesterday....

Francasaysrelax · 30/11/2009 12:49

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww well done Minirosa for starting to walk

Yes Rosa, I suppose that if it's a LI secret santa, it won't be that secret !

OP posts:
minervaitalica · 30/11/2009 13:09

Well done Minirosa! Still waiting for MiniMi to start walking independently but she stubbornly clings on to my hand (or whatever else she can grab!).

We were supposed to be under water here too today, but it has not rained yet at all (miracle!). Our tree is up too, but not the other decs, as I have not got any yet. Not sure whether this is normal, but MiniMI was totally unimpressed by the Xmas tree .

By the way, I have been offered a job by the bank, but not really one I want - so MM it's two of us on the same boat. Will think about it a bit more and then decide - I have another interview this wk so let's see how that goes first.

Francasaysrelax · 30/11/2009 13:25

Oh wow, congratulations on the job offer Minerva!!! Brava

OP posts:
Camomilla · 30/11/2009 14:03

well done minirosa and well done MI!

yes, is this rain ever going to stop? conservatory still leaking as we're waiting for a free dry day to fix it, so still unused, and now little leak in the front porch too... and DS being all miserable because I made him go to school in wellies (which he normally loves ) and big waterproof cape thing

got advent calendar from DS. always mean to actually make a "proper" one, but always ran out of time... maybe next year, so I'll make a big ine to accomodat double goodies...

btw AG, how dare you have such a name and ask questions

Francasaysrelax · 30/11/2009 14:33

Yes, I've seen that too Camo

Have to go start my 1 hr long school run.....

OP posts:
Sputnik · 30/11/2009 21:19

I got totally soaked today, just getting from the car park into DD's school.
Well done MiniRosa, you will have no peace now!
And well done MM and MI for the job offers, even if you're not interested it's good to know you're wanted.

Francasaysrelax · 30/11/2009 21:26

Yes, very wet today. I got to ds's school early today, when it was raining the most heavily.

I've got the advent calendar ready!

OP posts:
Sputnik · 30/11/2009 21:39

DD doesn't know what one is, yet.
Probably the last year I'll get away with it.
When I was little we had one my Mum made, it was a big wall hanging with a tree shape, and pockets at the bottom with xmassy shapes you hung on the tree with hooks. I wish I was organised and patient enoough to do something like that, it was fab (she gave it away, unfortunately!)

Francasaysrelax · 30/11/2009 21:46

Oh what a shame it sounds wonderful Sputnik.
I have to say that 2 yrs ago I found a lovely one in Muji, basically I had to make 24 pockets that can be hung on a string, all in different, lovely colours. I usually put a decoration for the tree or candies...

OP posts:
Francasaysrelax · 30/11/2009 21:51

sput, elio on radio deejay today

OP posts:
Sputnik · 30/11/2009 22:00

Bum, no speakers on this laptop.
Muji advent calendar sounds way cool

Francasaysrelax · 30/11/2009 22:04

It's just finished.

It's pretty. But not as fab as your mother's advent calendar... perhaps you should remake it and sell it to Mnetters

OP posts:
Sputnik · 30/11/2009 22:14

hmm, probably a bit late now

Francasaysrelax · 01/12/2009 13:45

next year, then
