Posted under adult fiction as well, but maybe you can tell me if you have read Villette and what you thought? Is it a boring slog?

I have effing cleaning to do.

Penthesileia · 26/11/2009 12:55

Hello all.

2 minutes on library computer.

Hope you are all ok.

Franca - check your email.

AntonioGramsci · 26/11/2009 12:59

Oh, hello Penthe!!!! I am soooo envious of you being in a well stocked library and me ehm cleaning.

I picked up a Montcler when looking for dd1 winter coat in an outlet it was Euro 379 ... So I put it back. She now has a metallic pink one from Benneton at Eu79,99- She also has a cambio from Matalan which looks really big and warm but actually it is not surprising as it cost £8! I have visions if I put a fleece under it that when she runs sparks will come out of her ears !!
I still have dh present to get he wants Kindle thing but I don't see the point as teh only paper you can download for Italy is the Stampa and there are not any books in Italian yet ....
Mince pies another Huge fan here...... I like M&S stuffing for them plus I love doing prange pastry and putting a dolop of yoghurt in them. NOt a torrone fan sorry - I don't mind pannetone but Pandoro has to be warm with vanilla cream and hot frutta di bosco !!!!

Bucharest · 26/11/2009 13:41

Who is Antonio? Is it Camo?

Daniela's Moncler (we are all spelling them differently, some must be fakes!) is definitely genuine as it was from high class boutique where I couldn't even buy a pair of pants. The same Daniela I might add who has refused to give 15 euro for fondo cassa and regali fine anno for the maestre because of la crisi

The scuola media have just rung me to say my money is "in arrivo" from last year....I'm quietly excited at the thought of a lovely Christmas, but must remind myself that "in arrivo" could mean any number of things. (the secretary did mention cheques though and how much tax had been taken off)

Per favore!!! The cheek some people have!

Buch no it is not Camo.

Bucharest · 26/11/2009 13:53

lol- I see now it isn't, unless she's talking to herself....

TheMysticMasseuse · 26/11/2009 13:54

i wouldn't bother with villette. just re-read Jane Eyre. and then re-read it. and then re-read it... (can you tell it's my fave book of all times?)

PippiHasALifeOfRiley · 26/11/2009 13:55

Jane Eyre is very up my list too. Never heard of Villette, must google now.

minervaitalica · 26/11/2009 13:55

I do not like the obsession with coats either - it's not just Moncler, it's also Woolrich, Refrigiwear etc etc . It's all a bit show-offish, even if up here it gets old enough that a decent coat is required.

I cannot believe some of you do not like mince pies - but then again, I do not like panettone (pandoro is OK). Sputnik, I did not have cider either, I used good quality apple juice from a local farm (but cut down the sugar in the recipe by about 20%).

MM, my independent midwife works part-time at your celeb hospital... If everyone else there is like her then I can understand why you loved it so much! And do not feel guilty - my independent midwife probably saved DD's life so I do wonder what would have happened if she had not been around.

Buch, at Daniela. I take it she is not a MNetter then?

PippiHasALifeOfRiley · 26/11/2009 13:59

thankfully I have not heard of Refrigiwear, the name alone worries me. And thankfully will not be going to italy this winter so will be speared the sight of a million clones men walking around in them. Have picture i my head though of similar clones clothed in Moncler, Bomber, Barbour, Faye, Woolrich. Viva Inghilterra I say .

PippiHasALifeOfRiley · 26/11/2009 14:00

Oh and Pandoro is the best!

PippiHasALifeOfRiley · 26/11/2009 14:00

spared

AntonioGramsci · 26/11/2009 14:43

What is the name of the horrid padded one that looks like the inside of a jacket?

Here in ghetto town everybody wears a Primak jacket, infact a Primark anything infact.

I used to be Javier, hi Buch!

PippiHasALifeOfRiley · 26/11/2009 14:45

Which one is that? Hope I have not seen it anywhere.

PippiHasALifeOfRiley · 26/11/2009 14:46

Oh and yes I have decided will rent the wire on lovefilm. Great idea AG.

PippiHasALifeOfRiley · 26/11/2009 14:48

Oh forgot to say earlier on that every time I watch Charlie and Lola, a favourite, I think Charlie is AG's lovely DS.

Can I just say something? I am sooo sooo happy with bigpippi school I want to cry.

Francasaysrelax · 26/11/2009 16:24

Penthe [smile Thank you!!!!!!!!!

Pippi, stop thinking too much about it. Get The Wire, get the first season. You are going to love it!

What is a Refrigiwear? Never heard of it... I still think that in Italy you can find much better coats (those di lana, you know, traditional cappotti)... but I can't stand those giubbotti sportivi which costs the earth too (like Fay, Moncler... )
