Boh I don't know, I can't relax when baking with the dc. I think it's some sort of rebellion against good parenting, of which baking together is the stendardo iyswim . But I'm totally relaxed when they want to wash the dishes or clean the bathtub (making a mess, but it's fine)

Is Andre totally unattractive in the movie? I don't think I could stand that. And what about Fersen??

francaghostohollywood · 31/10/2009 15:49

lol at the poster of the movie, looks like one of those 1970 soft porn with Edvige Fenech

JavierBardem · 31/10/2009 16:22

Yeahhhhh! Did you see Fersen? Would you want THAT guy to give you the Fersen look? Surely you would laugh in his face..

It reminded me of dodgy 70s movies with Corinne Clery and Sydney Rome, but la Fenech will do.

francaghostohollywood · 31/10/2009 18:49

Oh what a let down that Fersen, not like the cartoon one at all

Camomilla · 01/11/2009 14:15

yes, after initially thinking it wasn't too bad, quite a let down, though I still want to see it through the end, weird me.

dd seems nearly back to herself, though still not too kin on food or be left alone (as in not in anyone's arms)

hope dc are better too franca, and pippi too

back to cleaning

francasaysrelax · 01/11/2009 17:41

Ds seemed fine (sort of) yesterday, but has a temp again today, with headache and feeling weak (but always lively). Dd is better today. We'll see.

I'm very tired (possibly bored) other than that I feel fine. Boh!

Camomilla · 01/11/2009 18:36

yeah, franca, you did it!

SuiGeneris · 01/11/2009 18:39

Sorry to hear so many of your children are down with various things. Hopefully they are better by now.

MM: Thank you, Barbapapa' definitely better for a younger child. And I used to love them. Do you all just show them to the kids via Youtube or buy DVDs? Will also try showing them to DH this evening, they might help with his Italian. . Last time I tried to widen his vocabulary with something from my youth we went for "Il Gorilla" by De Andre'- which he hugely enjoyed- even though possibly the vocab is not the most useful in the world.

How did the Halloween party go? We had a bag of treats ready but no kids rang our bell...

It seems that you have all seen more cartoons than I- we were only allowed one a day during merenda, then were packed off to play in the garden (or inside if it was raining). So, sorry, Franca, I am afraid I have no idea who Charlotte and Peline were...

francagoestohollywood · 01/11/2009 18:40

I did it and got . So I reverted back to my usual self

francagoestohollywood · 01/11/2009 18:47

You might be too young for Charlotte and Peline ... Peline was harrowing. She was so poor. She was an orphan. She had to work in a mill or something... brrr... scary.
I really did watch too much tv. But also played a lot. Where did I find the time is a big question. I also think I had a really late bedtime.

DamonBradleySlaysPippi · 01/11/2009 18:56

Franca why did you change back, I love that name!! Who you?

I buy dvds SG. I cannot show the kids things from utube much because minipippi will touch every button and mess it up.

francagoestohollywood · 01/11/2009 19:00

No, sorry, I got at the change... I'm not ready for it

Yes, I usually buy dvds too. I'm now showing dd candy candy on youtube but she is 5. For some reasons I don't like the idea of a small child in front of the pc

Francasaysrelax · 01/11/2009 19:06

Should I be brave and keep it then?

PippiIsaWarGoddess · 01/11/2009 19:55

Yes! Without a doubt!

Do you like my new one? Can you guess the mood I am in?

PippiTheValkyria · 01/11/2009 19:58

Or this one?

Camomilla · 01/11/2009 20:00

go on, keep it!

SG, we were allowed one each too a day, so I can't understand how I got to see so much

I'd like to get DVDs of LO and CC, but I DC have been watching them on youtube.

oh, and after DP rushing to the shops and me carving a batman pumpkin in 5 mins,as the one we had started to rot (no idea how!), we only had 4 lots of kids coming (poor DS, was so looking forward to going trick or treating, but as it was his first day temp free I decided to keep him in, and DD was trying to escape in her pumpking outfit everytime the door opened). so definetly the "poorer" Halloween we've had, we normally have so many kids coming around. Must be because of SF....

Camomilla · 01/11/2009 20:01

what happened pippi?

PippiTheWarGoddess · 01/11/2009 20:09

I settle for this I think.

We had a great Halloween at friends' house. Lots of chidren and great TorT. A neighbour was dressed as a witch and all the kids got such a fright, bless!

Something to do with 'cognata' as usual! I have never came across a more selfish, self-centred, obtuse person in my life. I would not care one iota (I'd be happy infact as I wouldn't ever want to see her again) if it wasn;t for poor softy DH who although says he doesn't he suffers about it because he cannot see his nipoti as much and because she the worse Zia to his DD.

TheMysticMasseuse · 01/11/2009 20:14

I like the pissed-off Pippi. go for Pippi the Walkyria. or. or ApocalpippiNow

FRANNNNCAAA please keep your new name, i love it!

SG- we didn't have a tv until i was 4 and then we were also heavily rationed, i think i must have seen LO maybe 6 times (i remember it was on at the same time as telegiornale and i had to literally go down on my knees and beg my dad) but i think children just get so easily obsessed impressed. the other day, totally out of the blue, dd1 told me Rupert Bear is her favourite cartoon EVER. I told her, but you've never seen it! But YES mamma we saw in the hotel (=in Austria when we went skiing last March).

our halloween was fab, we had 8 children here- friend's little boy of 18m came dressed as a princess to copy his big sis, he was hysterical, had a little snack, some facepainting and went trick or treating in the street. great fun and i got to snoop inside the grand houses at the posh end of our street .

SG did you have a carved pumpkin outside your house? generally speaking kids only knock on doors that are clearly "up for it".

Camo, Lol at the little escapist Pumpkin! dd2 was like a baby possessed, suicidally running down the street in her little witch outfit
