Where are you????

OP posts:
Camomilla · 01/11/2009 20:15

that's what I say about DSis everytime I see her.... but she is lovely with DC though (still the most selfish egocentric person I know), and I'm still hoping she'll change....

TheMysticMasseuse · 01/11/2009 20:15

Sorry about the cognata Pippi

Camomilla · 01/11/2009 20:20

half my message disappeared...

trying to remember it... ah, scolapasta... but how can she not be a nice zia... bigpippi's so sweet, and I'm sure minipippi's the same...

PippiTheWarGoddess · 01/11/2009 20:34

She has seen minipippi once when she was a day old and a second and last time at 8 months !
She never calls. She lives 40 min away. Since I know DH we have never been invited at her house! She came to ours many times, her kids are here often. How about that?

Today I had the last straw: she has asked MIL over for Xmas but not us. I cannot tell Dh because MIL wants to tell him as they were supposed to come to ours. I am worried, DH will be so hurt (Xmas on our own) and so angry. It will be the end. (I will only be thankful). I am so angry as I'll have to rethink the whole Xmas as I don't want to be just us.

[a ngry]

PippiTheWarGoddess · 01/11/2009 20:36

I really do not want to see her again and do not want the DDs to have anything to do with her.

There's a lot more to this story but I'll tell you in another setting.

Have we alienated all the brits with our cartoon fest?

Camomilla · 01/11/2009 20:55

wow, can't believe she's only seen minipippi twice! and I thought DP's supposedly close friend was bad... I know what you mean about xmas, to me it's all about being with people you love (back home even if we just have the meal on our own, slowly but surely the house fills up with uncles, aunties and cousins... we'll be on our own again too, so I told DP I don't care but next year I'm taking the DC to italy. could not face another xmas at the PIL's... the worst arguments we've had with FIL have been over there at xmas so I'd rather spend it on our own (and I'm sure DP is kind of not happy with me that we haven't had xmas there for years)

Camomilla · 01/11/2009 21:06

ok, Brits, no more cartoon reminiscing (sp?). come back!!

Francasaysrelax · 01/11/2009 21:15

Oh dear, yes, I hadn't realized that all my posted were cartoon related. I do apologize

Pippi your cognata is awful . I officially invite you here. We usually have a 35/40 people christmas lunch affair. 4 more won't even be noticed

PippiTheWarGoddess · 01/11/2009 21:19

Dear Franca thanks I remember you inviting me last here too. I am very of your Xmases as they must be such fun for adults but especially children. I remember new years eve at friends huge house with loads of peope and it was fantastic.

It pisses me off because if we knew we would end up on our own we could think of going to italy. I have told MIL to discuss it with [insert expletive of your choice] asap so we can make a plan. MIL also said that cognata is capable of inviting them and then cancel at the last minute if she is invited somewhere else. How about that? Honestly!

Francasaysrelax · 01/11/2009 21:25

Would she really? . I'd go to Italy if I were you, and I'd invite mil too (she is a nice mil, isn't she, if I remember well)

Francasaysrelax · 01/11/2009 21:28

Yes, the dc love it. And we 5 cugine di terzo grado (aged from 11 to 15) who entertain the younger ones... priceless! (lets hope they don't turn into stroppy teenagers soon)

Francasaysrelax · 01/11/2009 21:28

we have

PippiTheWarGoddess · 01/11/2009 21:44

Lovely MIL thankfully!

Camomilla · 01/11/2009 21:50

franca, that sounds like my parents' xmas, especially epifania, when it's always at theirs with 3 generations + befana

pippi, she'd do that to her own mother? wow

PippiTheWarGoddess · 01/11/2009 21:53

And more!!

Francasaysrelax · 01/11/2009 21:54

Yes, very that she'd do that to her own mother. Just disappear for Christmas with mother in law!
Oh a big befana, that sounds lovely too camo.

Sputnik · 01/11/2009 22:12

So are you sure you've finished talking about Lady Oscar then?

Promise I haven't been boycotting, but busy with parents, they went home yesterday. Got back to Rome tonight, strangely after a week away I kind of missed our pokey flat!

Sorry to hear about everyone sick, I am bracing myself for the SF here too, can only be a matter of time.

Sputnik · 01/11/2009 22:14

Am a bit jealous of huge xmases alla Casa Franca, you can count my family on one hand with room to spare, DH's the same.

Francasaysrelax · 01/11/2009 22:20

Hello Sput, happy to see you back!
My family is not particularly big, but dh's is huge and his cousins (a bit older than us) all had children.

Francasaysrelax · 01/11/2009 22:21

sorry, have children, obvi9ously.

Sputnik · 01/11/2009 22:32

No one in our families had kids except us, bit sad for our DCs. I never had cousins either as both my parents are only children.

PippiTheWarGoddess · 01/11/2009 22:39

Hello Sputnik! Nice to hear you've had a great time with parents. And yes our families won't fill my house even with the one we don't like much.

I am off to bed. Want to talk to DH a bit. If he is asleep already I'll be back.

Francasaysrelax · 01/11/2009 22:42

I bet your dc will have lovely friends who'll care for them as much (or more) as relatives do!

I'm desperately waiting for my db to have a baby (mostly to quiet my broodiness)

Off to bed now, 'notte!

Camomilla · 01/11/2009 22:48

hello sputnik! glad all's well and SF not there yet
