DemonBradleySlaysPippi · 29/10/2009 14:33

At the ENO they will show Lucia di Lamermoor which I'd love to go to but it is only for members unfortunately.

francaghostohollywood · 29/10/2009 15:00

How much is it?

Bucharest · 29/10/2009 15:02

Hello all......been busy buying up the Playmobil on the Sainsbury's 50% off sale site....

Sorry to hear loads of you are still ill- dd's school is the same- 12 out of 24 in her class yesterday, a few more back today. I still maintain they've had colds not SF though.

Meeting at school yesterday morning for work this year (and managed to ask several times where the stipendio for last year is and when it's likely to arrive and mentioned that I might just write to Capitan Ventosa to go and have a word at the Ministro....)

Meeting at school for rappresentante last night- I missed the election but got there in time for the more interesting chat on how-things-are-going. Dd has lost her divil-chile alter ego and teacher says she is "capace di dare il massimo" (even though she wees a lot )

I saw La Boheme at the Arena in Verona. Prefer the music of some of the others actually. Dd's current favourite is the Champions League music

francaghostohollywood · 29/10/2009 15:08

Does Sainsbos deliver to Italy? I'm looking to buy some sylvanian families for both dd and ds... don't know where from. Any ideas?

Glad to hear dd is doing well at school

francaghostohollywood · 29/10/2009 15:12

and sylvanian families items are all sold out on sainsbos anyway...

Bucharest · 29/10/2009 15:30

Loads of stuff that was available this morning is now sold out....the Playmobil I got has finished now, although on the MN thread someone said they do get more stock in during these sale-fests.

The entertainer has a lot of Sylvanian Families- (you can use Paypal there too) not sure if they deliver abroad- have you got someone who could post stuff on? It's all sooooo much cheaper....Cicciobella bua is less than £20!!

dd being grumpy about h/w this afternoon...maybe I spoke too soon!

Rosa · 29/10/2009 15:52

Franca I know my mum would post on for you if you ever get stuck ......

francaghostohollywood · 29/10/2009 16:10

Oh thanks rosa, I will let you know if I find myself stuck , thank you!

Bucharest, , I wouldn't worry too much... most children put up a fight before doing their homeworks... I feel your pain!!!

Pippi, I found 66 episodes of candy candy on youtube! Have just watched the first 2 episodes with dd. She is now addicted, what do I do now?

DemonBradleySlaysPippi · 29/10/2009 17:08

Oh I bet she is Franca. Like I said we have been addicted to the whole series of, in order: Pippi, Heidi, Anna dai Capelli Rossi. I've got waiting for them: Annette, Candy Candy, Paul and Mina, Mimi Ayuara and Lady Oscar!

Camomilla · 29/10/2009 18:26

la' sui monti con annette, doooooooooove il cielo e' sempre blu, la con dani e con lucien, vieni vieni anche tuuuuuu

DS watched Candy Candy (on you tube) over last xmas up to when anthony dies. poor thing had tears in his eyes and that was the first time he asked what happens when you die. should really bring my tape here. need to get Lady Oscar too (I'm sure I'll be the one watching it though )

sounds like we had SF too then. DP called GP today as DS's temp up again, she said to give him the tamiflu, even if it should be taken 48hrs from first symptoms to be effective.

pippi, why dont you take him to Verona for a weekend to watch l'Aida or Nabucco (they give you 2 little candles to light up during va pensiero, beautiful)

Rosa · 29/10/2009 18:44

agree the opera in Verona is something special .... I emailed Sainsburgers and told them it was a crap sale as everything was out of stock within an hour......
But am watching Tescos like a hawk as they normally copy !
Early to bed for me tonight very tired...Boh !

francaghostohollywood · 29/10/2009 19:25

My dc got addicted to Lady Oscar 2 yrs ago, when the dvds started to come out. I got carried away and bought the first 9 dvds (more for me than for them), even though I thought it wasn't really appropriate for their ages. So I stopped buying them when the relationship between Marie Antoniette and Fersen started to get steamy ...

Dd is very under the weather, has gone to bed with a dose of Nuroflex and complaining that her eyes hurt.

DemonBradleySlaysPippi · 29/10/2009 19:30

Oh poor minifranca and minicamo and minirosa. minipippi's still coughing but much better thankfully.

Prices for Stalls, only place worth while as I cannot see anyhting otherwise are between £160 and £240!

Will think about Verona, it is actually a great idea, especially when possibly combined with weekend on our own !

I think I have scarred bigpippi for life yesterday with The Neverending Story's scene when Atreiu's horse dies! It wasn;t really for her to see.

OP posts:
francaghostohollywood · 29/10/2009 19:57

Blimey ! That's quite dear isn't it? I'd swap with movie + indian (have seen Inglorious Basterds, did I tell you? I really enjoyed it)
You could leave the dds with your dad and elope to Verona. ANd have an exquisite dinner too!

Yes, I agree, I think Never ending story is for children a bit older than your dd, around 7, maybe?

I've recently discovered on MN that Young Frankenstein is rated a 15 in the UK. I was a bit . Young Frankenstein, come on!!!

Camomilla · 29/10/2009 20:35

DS watched never ending story same age as bigpippi, but llied and told him the horse just got stuck and it'll be saved later

dd got temp too now... oh, joy!

franca, not as steamy as oscar and andre'... I remember watching georgie being saved by one of the twins next to my mum... oh, the embarassament

francaghostohollywood · 29/10/2009 21:42

Oh yes camo, I remember friends telling me how pruriginoso georgie was... but I was too old for that... I think oscar was the last one I followed, I was 12 or 13.

Oh no, sorry to hear dd is unwell too. What a nightmare . I put dd in my bed, so that I can monitor her and trying not to infect dh and ds.

Camomilla · 29/10/2009 21:58

poor dd, franca, i'd do the same, but dd + big bed = climbing .

TheMysticMasseuse · 29/10/2009 21:58

hee hee now i understand why my dad never wanted me to watch lady oscar... nope wouldn't want my dds to watch it ever i don't think. too creepy. but i saw they have dvds of la casa nella prateria whcih i could watch for hours on end....

hello everyone, btw and sorry for spelling.

sorry so many people are unwell... i am ok, just beyond shattered...

francaghostohollywood · 29/10/2009 22:04

Camo, I have her in bed now because she is 5... at your dd's age she wouldn't have wanted to leave her cot and no one would have been able to sleep by her side... she rolled constantly and kicked etc

Yes, Lady Oscar was a bit creepy, though I loved it. For yrs I searched for the Fersen's look in a man's eyes (never found it, of course )

Camomilla · 29/10/2009 22:09

but it's still my fave cartoon with candy. and the history side is good

minicamo tries anything to leave her cot. and when she throws her dummy and bunny out of it, you know there's no hope of her sleeping...

francaghostohollywood · 29/10/2009 22:16

My final list of fav Japanese Cartoons:
Candy candy
Lady Oscar
Gundam
Star Blazers

Oh does she try to evade?

Camomilla · 29/10/2009 22:46

poitning at the door too! and from her cot she can see ds' bedroom door so puts her finger to her mouth (well, her nose) and goes 'shhhhhh', like saying "i know he's sleeping, i'll be quiet if you take me down

my list would have CC and LO joint 1st, then il grande sogno di maya 2nd, dolce remi, then I really liked capitain harlock/la regina dei 1000 anni/galaxy express (had to share tv hour with DB, but had a crush on Cpt H), lupin (and the old sigle are by far the best!! like this, this (which DS thinks was written for him as since he was born my mum has sang it to him, albeit slighlty modified) and this (which I have in a 45 giri at home with book!!), and then heidi/annette/anna dai capelli rossi. oh, and then there are all the spoty ones, jenny la tennista, mila e shiro, mimi (mimimimimi con le mani..), oh, god, how pathetic am I, I have all these memories, so many cartoons!! must stop looking at you tube!

DemonBradleySlaysPippi · 29/10/2009 23:48

Camo of course I told bigpippi that the horse was going to be saved later! Still traumatic. This brings me to my next pet-hate: those who says "it is only a movie/book etc" to those who cry over it. Oh it makes me so angry. What a stupid thing to say!

I think Lady Oscar must be watched. And wasn't Gerogie a bit incestous (sp) too? I didn't like it very much but DBs did . .

Camo are you the same age as me? Your list could have been mine.

Cannot open links as all asleep here, will do tomorrow. We have a cd in the car with all the sigle and bigpippi loves LUpin ans Sasuke .

Had a boring night out and now feel a bit fluey and sore throaty. Fingers crossed.

OP posts:
Camomilla · 30/10/2009 00:08

hate that too, had nightmares from cartoons for years thinking there was the double-faced witch under my bed

it wasn't technically incest as they weren't blood related, and he was just warming her up or she'd died of hypothermia

right, think it's safe for me to go to bed, dd seems settled again

hope you havent't cought anything nasty

notte
