OP posts:
JavierBardem · 28/10/2009 22:17

Yo!

Yes, the Vogue Editor, I really like, she looks good and is funny and smart too which says a lot for a woman in fashion.

francaghostohollywood · 28/10/2009 22:26

Send me the link Javier. After my stint in fashion (which completely put me off working forever ) I'm really really suspicious of powerful women in that field (yes, sorry it doesn't sound too sisterly, but I've met a good number of iene in my "career")

LOL at adjourning your ass off to bed sput!
Have just got my dvd of the wire, can't wait to watch it.

Night ladies

They are only 10 mins each. No, I cannot imagine any sisterly love in the fashion show, or in any business infact.

JavierBardem · 29/10/2009 09:27

in the fashion WORLD, not show.

Out all day today!

DemonBradleySlaysPippi · 29/10/2009 09:40

pj day here.

OP posts:
JavierBardem · 29/10/2009 09:41

Have a look too Pippi, Carine at least is no mostruosa come la Donatella.

DemonBradleySlaysPippi · 29/10/2009 09:52

Sorry MI, no such obsession here.

Will do JB.

OP posts:
francaghostohollywood · 29/10/2009 10:12

Lol MI, no I have to say my mum is not obsessed by flowers, but she has a long list of obsessions she loves to rant about... would you like me to list them ?

Pj sort of day here too, as dd woke up coughing and with a little bit of temperature. So I put her in hat/scarf etc and took ds to school, but we've been watching charlie and lola for hrs and I even managed a Carlo Panatta nap (he was known for taking 2 mins nap in between sets during the matches) on the sofa.

I have puntarelle, I need a recipe.

francaghostohollywood · 29/10/2009 10:17

Will watch Corinne later. She is seemingly pretty, but I'm sure she's scary.

I know iene are everywhere, but the problem with the fashion field is that most people there believe they are doing the most important, vital job ever!
Btw, it wasn't a particularly funky job, though I have really good anecdotes to recount... ANd I had really good fun, as some of my colleagues were really good friends of mine... we giggled a lot.

Rosa · 29/10/2009 12:01

Aww nooo what have they done to the page set up again ? How do we get it back to the classic simple set up ?
How are all the sick people / babies doing ?
Went to take the dd to have the normal flu vaccine and doc reckons that when they were ill it was actually swine flu not a virus as the symptoms they had were very similar to other children who had swabs done . MIne were almost the first ones . SO the vaccinine was postponed for at least 3 weeks and I have to postpone her 3rd block of vaccinations until probably after Christmas. However if we haven't bought a house then we are going on holiday in January so it will be February !!!!!
I had got a disney mag for dd1 as a bribe and even though she diddn't have an injection she deserved it -she was so good getting toys for minirosa who was clambering over everything - she ate docs stethascope ( SP - BIG TIme !)and then pulled all the throat things out of the jar ....Then sat an played with them ....The doc just laughed !!!! SO hey ho looks like we might have been though that and it would explain why Zimox antibiotics did not work on Minirosa ........

Penthesileia · 29/10/2009 12:34

Hello people. Sorry to hear that little Little Italians are still feeling poorly. Wishing everyone better soon.

That's rotten about the swimming teacher, franca. You don't think he's been accused of something untoward, do you?

Phew. Survived another week. It's funny: I'm now on damage-limitation mode. If I can get through the week without any major fuck-ups, then it's a good week!

Come back, Brange - if you're lurking... And stop exercising - you're making us look bad!

DD very clingy and into everything today, thus making it next to impossible to achieve anything. Have managed to do some laundry and feed us lunch. Am not even dressed.

Am also confused by new MN layout.

PS. Can someone repost the picture of Accorsi (whoever this is), as I want to know what you're all laughing at.

francaghostohollywood · 29/10/2009 12:47

Ah rosa, dd really deserved her disney magazine, what a good big sister she is ! Shame you had to postpone the vaccinations though...
Swine flu - or whatever it is - all over Milan too. Lots of ill children in ds's school. One of the classes (class size is on average 20 pupils at his school) is currently missing 10 pupils

Dd has now 38.6 temp with coughing. But she is in a good mood, and "reading" a book to her dolls. Boh, I wonder if it's a virus or a reaction to mmr which she had 10 days ago.

Penthe, no, I don't really suspect anything untoward ( at the word untoward, it's soooooooooo english iyswim ), I'm more prone to think it's been a money problem.

quel cazzone di... . Poverino!!!

Rosa · 29/10/2009 13:01

I haven't called MIL or SIL yet to tell them. SIL has had hers off school - nipotinas class is half empty as well. but they have only had a few days of temp and grasso cough.
DCs cough was very dry and hoarse at the start - like tears in the eyes when they coughed then it went grasso after about 48 hrs and then it was thick and heavy - Lots of aerosol. I feel abit coldy but its not surprising seeing as its 25 degrees out there!

francaghostohollywood · 29/10/2009 13:06

dd has grasso cough. Boh, at the moment I'm just giving her calpol and monitoring the situation.

DemonBradleySlaysPippi · 29/10/2009 13:25

Exactly the same as what both my DDs had. I am very prone to think it was SF as well, not that it make much difference tbh. Also like your DD franca both mine were quite allright in themselves despite the high temp.

Yes I like the word untoward as well.

I am trying to hoover while minipippi creates havoc.

OP posts:
Rosa · 29/10/2009 13:29

Exactly . hope the dolls like the story !.I asked why DH and I diddn't get it and he said that as I was born before 77 there was an outbreak then and I probably built up immunity also it seems that the stastics show that many genitori don't seem to get it Also - Seeing as the main age group is the under 18s.
He said we have no way of telling now unless we start blood test etc that are costly and not needed. So vediamo piu in la if anything else comes up.

Rosa · 29/10/2009 13:33

Mine were fine ish a bit floppy when under calpol they both had 1 very bad night each up lots of times crying , unable to settle dh and I were counting the minutes when we could give them more calpol or Nuroflex when high. They had a couple of days with high temp all day and then dd1 up in teh evening but she had a shorter version ( but went to bronchitis) Minirosa febbre went on and on sitting round 38 - ( calpol or no calpol ?) but her cough got better eventually.
Having sad that she has a cold now but its alto and doc said nothing to worry about. He did her bilancio di salute but I never really took anything in as I was at the swine flu and was trying to remember the days of febbre and cough etc ....

francaghostohollywood · 29/10/2009 13:42

I'm quite generous with calpol, even when temp is not very high, if they aren't comfortable, have a headache etc. Nuroflex when temp is over 39...

Gosh rosa, it is hard when both are ill, isn't it?

dd is now less perky and watching Heidi.

Rosa · 29/10/2009 14:02

Yep - especailly when dh is incapable of staying awake unless they are crying. I put him in bed with dd1 as she had me worried!
Plus my dh without any sleep is just not worth considering !!
I try to keep to the 4 hrs min and then try to stretch it late pm so it covers as much night as poss.
LOL I was wondering why there was a pee smell checked the bin for nappies, the loo incase the water level was down - spent 30 mins pouring stuff down sinks and looking . Then I remembered dd1 had an accident this am and I had thrown the bath mat ( the one round the loo) and her pjma bottoms in a bucket to be dealt with later .......I have now dealt with it !!!!!!!!!!

Rosa · 29/10/2009 14:04

I have angelina Ballerina if you dd needs any but she is a Charlie & Lola fan vero ?
Hope she picks up soon and more to the point ds doesn't get it .... Must go miniro woken up and then we go to get a very tired no doubt dd1 ....Roll on sera !

francaghostohollywood · 29/10/2009 14:10

Oh yes, my dh is exactly the same. Totally useless and with a tendency to fall asleep when you least expect it

Oh I think dd would love Angelina Ballerina, but don't worry my dear, I can put it on my wish list, unless you want to swap for a little while? We have the first 4 dvds of charlie and lola. Charlie and Lola is perfect for my dc because they have very easy to understand english.

DemonBradleySlaysPippi · 29/10/2009 14:13

Yup exactly what they told me here. I hope it was in a way so it's kind of out of the way and we'll stop wondering and worry about it.

Now I need your suggestion. I'd like to take DH to the opera, he has never been and would like to go. At the ROH they will show Puccini 'La Boheme' and Mozart 'Cosi Fan Tutte'.
What would you suggest? What would a DH/DP enjoy more?

OP posts:
DemonBradleySlaysPippi · 29/10/2009 14:17

minipippi has been in timo out a few times for pulling bigpippi's hair and as she stubbornly refused to apologise she's been put in her bedroom, a la Jane Eyre. I bet she's gone to sleep.

OP posts:
francaghostohollywood · 29/10/2009 14:28

I'd go for La Boheme, however Cosi' fan tutte has bella vita militar, which is my dc's favourite
