Hi, hope you find this thread. The old one was too big.
Varifocals eh? Not sure I'd fancy that.
DP took me out to lunch today, to The Ivy. Twas really nice, good food and service, great decor, lovely stained glass windows. I only saw one sleb - Trisha Goddard with (I presume) her daughter.
I had seared scallops with bacon, followed by the rib-eye with chips and creamed spinach (with too much nutmeg in it).
It's been a funny old week. The house is a tip because I've hardly been in it (except to catch up on sleep). We're off on holiday on Saturday morning and I've organised nothing. Gulp!

How are you feeling now? Was it the claustrophobia? Panicky?

Hope you are feeling more relaxed now (((hugs)))

Berrie · 31/10/2009 20:27

'Scuse my language but twas fucking awful!

I went along not really looking forward about it but logically what was there to worry about?

Oh dear it was a real animal reaction. I was trapped and enclosed and it was awful and I was traumatised and I had to drive myself home afterwards. I didn't freak out but people must all the time. I just wanted to scream and claw my way out, it took ages. I think I just put myself into a meditative state to deal with it I did breathing, visualisation. I even chanted my tables at one point but it was so God damn freakingly noisy all the while it was hard to concentrate. Then they just turfed me out and I couldn't drive nor could I sit in my car...horrible...very poor bedside manner and aftercare...(whilst being very grateful to have great medical care and not live in a third world country)

Horrible horrible horrible

Berrie · 31/10/2009 20:37

Oh yeah and I had to lie on my back which was agony because I can't without my knees up. Can you?

oggsfrog · 31/10/2009 21:10

Sorry you had a bad time of it

I find it uncomfortable to lie flat on my back but I'd always presumed it was because of the size of my bum . It throws the spine into an uncomfortable position that wouldn't happen if I had a flat bum .

I usually sleep on my right side with my right leg straight down and my left tucked up at ninety degrees with bent knee.
Apart from when I fall asleep on my back with my book across my face

Berrie · 31/10/2009 21:10

curry no rice but bowlful

pink cava - botle shared
brandy or two or three

1 little packet of chocolate animal biscuits - fuckit!

LyraSilvertongue · 31/10/2009 21:55

Hi gals, I'm back.
Sorry you had such a terrible time at the MRI Berrie. At least it's over now and a proper diagnosis must be just around the corner.
France was fun. And hot. We got back at about lunchtime, just in time to carve the pumpkin and get the Halloween costumes out. The boys had a wonderful time trick or treating. All their friends were out - the streets were full of dressed up children and so many houses had gone to town with the decorations.

HELLOOOO!

Glad you had a good time!
I'm ok s'all over now.
No halloween action here.

LyraSilvertongue · 31/10/2009 22:17

Halloween is a Big Thing round these parts. it was great fun.
France was over much too quick. The villa was lovely, although the village it was in was a bit dull as it's out of season and it was winding down for the winter. we had a couple of good days on the beach, others round the pool (which was freezing cold so no swimming). Carcassonne was fantastic, we took the children to a dinosaur park, went to a market, a couple of meals out. All very pleasant and the children all got on, as did the grown ups. No tension I was aware of.

Berrie · 31/10/2009 22:21

Oh that's good - sounds great.

Not really sure about Halloween but the kids were excited. It would be great if there was more going on here.

oggsfrog · 01/11/2009 10:21

Hellooooo Lyra!

Obviously no trick or treating around here. Dd would have to walk almost a mile to the nearest neighbour.
No party in the village either this year.
Instead I took her to the cinema to see Monsters vs Aliens. We made malteser cookies and she bobbed for apples - so did the pup who comically blew bubbles from her nose each time she went under

LyraSilvertongue · 01/11/2009 13:11

Yes, neighbours are kind of important for trick or treating
I'm going to this this afternoon with my brother and sister.

Oooo hope you have fun... Thinking about it, I did see a show like that when I was 15 when I went skiiing with a French penfriend. It was dead exciting for the first 5...maybe 10 minutes then it was a bit....seen one seen 'em all...hope you are having a better experience!

oggsfrog · 01/11/2009 16:26

Sounds like fun Lyra!

Serendipity? Dh found a little light gadget at the festival and we've been trying to find out what it actually is. It is a little white rubber thing like a torch, but it emits a tiny bright red light either continuous or flashing.
Today I found out what it is

Berrie · 01/11/2009 16:59

Did you buy it beacuse it was called knog frog?

oggsfrog · 01/11/2009 17:05

No, dh found it in the mud when he was clearing up after the festival. We had no idea what it was.
I thought it was something to do with bluetooth at first and dh stretched it around his ear . The today I found the makers name on it and worked out what it was and what it was called
