Hi, hope you find this thread. The old one was too big.
Varifocals eh? Not sure I'd fancy that.
DP took me out to lunch today, to The Ivy. Twas really nice, good food and service, great decor, lovely stained glass windows. I only saw one sleb - Trisha Goddard with (I presume) her daughter.
I had seared scallops with bacon, followed by the rib-eye with chips and creamed spinach (with too much nutmeg in it).
It's been a funny old week. The house is a tip because I've hardly been in it (except to catch up on sleep). We're off on holiday on Saturday morning and I've organised nothing. Gulp!

Weil's disease? The plague?

Yes they have buried beneath and around.

Berrie · 03/02/2010 16:12

Yikes - we could die! Have been googling Weil's disease. The chickens might have to go. That fat rat leering at me through the window was the last straw!

Berrie · 04/02/2010 08:00

Morning.
Quiet around here.

Didn't watch New Moon as the quality wasn't good enough

ghostofoggs · 04/02/2010 08:38

I bet it's the same one my db did for me. Much too bad to watch for the first time.
Even I would only watch it as a knitting dvd (one where I have to just listen, as I can't knit and watch at the same time )

It is out on dvd now and is on my Amazon wishlist but funds being nonexistant what they are it will have to wait

Berrie · 04/02/2010 09:24

Is it???
Dh said it was out in March. if it's out now there should be a dvd rip available to download.

I've decided I need a treadmill. They cost too much too. I can't walk fast enough with dd. I can't walk when she's at Pre school because I work. I don't want to walk the streets alone at night in the dark, besides either dh is running or we are visiting FIL.

I also REEEEEAAAAAAALY want a dog. It is becoming an obsession. I need to win the lottery so I don't need to work, then I can be home. How long does the puppy bit last Oggs? If I had a puppy in the summer holidays would I be able to leave it for longer periods by the autumn?

Berrie · 04/02/2010 09:27

Nah it's for pre order onn amazon. March 22nd.

ghostofoggs · 04/02/2010 10:38

Bum! Sorry!

Dogs. Pip puppy is now almost 6 months and is still locked in her cage at night (she sometimes escapes though). She is still very chewy.
She has chewed/shredded/eaten;
2 pairs of my mock crocs
3 of dd's shoes/pumps
numerous soft toys (Horatio the bunny was the latest. Led to tears)
plant pots
plastic bottles
chair legs
carpets
tennis balls
coal
wood
a bucket
etc...
etc...
She shreds any paper she finds and I discovered what looked like a giant mouse nest under dd's bed with her stash of treasure which included a mummified bird and half a shrew. She's like a magpie

She also has a pile of treasures in her bed under the table which includes some christmas baubles, a sock, a hairbrush and an empty kettle chips bag.

Dh was out repairing the truck and she kept nickin his tools. It took him ages to realise she was taking them and he found them in a pile in the woods

She is very sociable though and despite having Mungo for company pines when we leave her. She wants to be doing all the time.

Berrie · 04/02/2010 11:15

It's really not for me then.

I've two choices this morning(or what's left of it) Go and put away the pile of clothes or do my planning for tomorrow. Clothes win, I hate planning...

ghostofoggs · 04/02/2010 13:51

Different breeds have different personalities/needs though.
Ours is a border collie cross greyhound, and Borders are particularly manic.

MattBellamysMuse · 04/02/2010 17:16

I'd never cope with all that destruction. Plus all the walking, despite having a park across the road.

Berrie · 04/02/2010 18:29

I remeber you saying you didn't like collies!

ghostofoggs · 04/02/2010 20:04

I don't like straight collies. Not Border. Go figure
I love her to bits. She's a real character. She uses her paws like a cat

Berrie · 05/02/2010 07:08

Morning!

Work all day today. Anything interesting planned for the weekend?

ghostofoggs · 05/02/2010 20:14

Nothing remotely interesting I'm afraid . Will be sorting dd's clothes tomorrow and may visit library.

Watched Sherlock Holmes night before last and really enjoyed it so we are watching again tonight

MattBellamysMuse · 06/02/2010 00:48

Pics of DS2's room now on my profile (please tell me it worked - MN doesn't like to make thing easy).
I shall now have a long break before tackling the next room (master bedroom - groan...)

MattBellamysMuse · 06/02/2010 01:15

You must of course oooh and aaah over my creative genius

Berrie · 06/02/2010 08:01

Ooooh Ahhhh you are a creative genius!

That carpet looks nice there. Is her pleased?
Is it just me, or are those shelves a bit wonky?

MattBellamysMuse · 06/02/2010 10:11

Wonky? WONKY? How dare you! The spirit level says they're straight.

MattBellamysMuse · 06/02/2010 10:13

Yes, he's really pleased with it. It was extremely grotty before. As usual I've failed to take 'before' pictures.

MattBellamysMuse · 06/02/2010 10:16

The walls were covered in woodchip, which had once been white but was now yellowing. There were some ugly black shelves, the woodwork was all black gloss and the window wall was covered in thick dried glue from when we removed the BLACK CARPET the previous owners had put on the wall.
The carpet was old and grubby and brown.

ghostofoggs · 06/02/2010 11:04

It looks lovely Lyra I like the bug light

Berrie · 06/02/2010 14:44

ghostofoggs · 07/02/2010 10:34

Berrie · 07/02/2010 16:18

ghostofoggs · 07/02/2010 19:27
