Hi, hope you find this thread. The old one was too big.
Varifocals eh? Not sure I'd fancy that.
DP took me out to lunch today, to The Ivy. Twas really nice, good food and service, great decor, lovely stained glass windows. I only saw one sleb - Trisha Goddard with (I presume) her daughter.
I had seared scallops with bacon, followed by the rib-eye with chips and creamed spinach (with too much nutmeg in it).
It's been a funny old week. The house is a tip because I've hardly been in it (except to catch up on sleep). We're off on holiday on Saturday morning and I've organised nothing. Gulp!

Ohhhh!

Poor love!

Doesn't he look troubled traumatised numb fed up weary of it all different?

Berrie · 23/01/2010 07:49

Am not enjoying the beard!
Dh has one but it suits him.

ghostofoggs · 24/01/2010 09:37

Morning

We have a ram outside the front of the caravan! He's been mooching around for the last few days.

Berrie · 24/01/2010 11:59

A ram?
Where did he come from?

ghostofoggs · 24/01/2010 15:16

Dd has named him Ramses
He's come from over the hill, across the river. I think he was with a gang of ewes but has lost them.
Pic on my profile

Berrie · 24/01/2010 17:28

He is lovely!

How are things?

ghostofoggs · 25/01/2010 08:32

Same old, same old. Still catching up with backlog of washing

ghostofoggs · 26/01/2010 07:31

... still washing...

ghostofoggs · 26/01/2010 07:33

Everyone okay?

Berrie · 26/01/2010 07:57

Sort of.
Feeling very low at the mo.

ghostofoggs · 26/01/2010 08:09

Oh, sorry Berrie... poor you
Off to school now for meeting but will be around later if you need to chat.

MattBellamysMuse · 26/01/2010 17:04

Whassup Berrie?
I haven't been around because of DS2's stoopid bedroom. Wallpapering done (never again - I was up till midnight finishing it), painting of wallpaper done, just have to smooth and paint upper walls and ceiling and recoat all woodwork for the third time. Groan. His new carpet is being fitted on Thursday so all the painting has to be done before then.

Berrie · 26/01/2010 18:27

Upper walls! - get you!

I'm ok. I'm fed up that my back is still so painful. I suffer on Fridays and Mondays after a days work. We've got no money, I can't physically do any of the bigger jobs that need doing. I am struggling with motivation to diet, lose weight and not drink.
How is your Mum doing?

MattBellamysMuse · 26/01/2010 19:22

She's ok, she's off work for a few weeks.
By upper walls I meant the bit above the tongue and grrove-effect embossed wallpaper I put on the lower half. Not posh. Hard work though. I should have just done the whole thing white.

ghostofoggs · 26/01/2010 21:35

I can empathise regarding the not getting motivated re; weight loss and drinking Berrie.

I've reached yet another all time high with my weight, and have been called into the Doctor's for an asthma check. This will be with the nurse who was spurring me on with my weight loss last year until I went to Blackpool and went awol.
I haven't been back since and am embarrassed to have to go in weighing at least a stone more than when I started last year

Berrie · 26/01/2010 22:35

Two nights not drinking now.
It's a start...another start.

Sorry about the weight Oggs. I reckon that losing weight actually makes me put more on in the end. I'd be better off not thinking about it at all.

I do admire you Lyra. You make me feel so lazy!

I badly want a dog. Can't though as am out two days a week.

Berrie · 27/01/2010 07:20

Dh has been to the Doctor this morning. He's going to get his liver F test done. He thinks the Dr was shocked. He told him I'd be coming in soon too.

ghostofoggs · 27/01/2010 08:40

Good luck both.
Getting mine done last year wasn't quite the wake up call I hoped for/feared.

Berrie · 27/01/2010 11:26

So if your liver is ok does that mean you are safer from the associated risk of cancer, stroke, heart attack? Or does it just mean your liver is not rotting?

ghostofoggs · 27/01/2010 14:33

I presume it just means that your liver is functioning within normal parameters.

Berrie · 27/01/2010 16:23

Ho ho ho.
have just had a letter requesting that I take part in some medical research at the local hospital.
I need to be pre menopausal - yes
overweight - er yes (think that's why I've been selected)
Prepared to drink 2 cups of cocoa a day - no no no...the ONLY thing I cannot bear. Apart from tripe...and soft liver with pipes in...and other offaly stuff I've propbably never tried.
Prepared to have 2 body scans - No No No! Never again!!!

ghostofoggs · 27/01/2010 19:27

How come you don't like Cocoa but like chocolate you weirdo??

Berrie · 28/01/2010 07:23

Cocoa iv VILE!
I keep trying it every few years as it doesn't make sense. It's something to do with hot milk I think. I'm not overfond of custard either though I eat it now.

Berrie · 28/01/2010 16:45

How has the carpet gone down Lyra?
