Hi, hope you find this thread. The old one was too big.
Varifocals eh? Not sure I'd fancy that.
DP took me out to lunch today, to The Ivy. Twas really nice, good food and service, great decor, lovely stained glass windows. I only saw one sleb - Trisha Goddard with (I presume) her daughter.
I had seared scallops with bacon, followed by the rib-eye with chips and creamed spinach (with too much nutmeg in it).
It's been a funny old week. The house is a tip because I've hardly been in it (except to catch up on sleep). We're off on holiday on Saturday morning and I've organised nothing. Gulp!

The very same!!!!! It's going pretty great thanks, how are you??? and where's Zeb and Lyra??

Berrie · 05/01/2010 12:25

Lyra is around but Zeb has gone.
What is happening to you nowadays? How is the salon, the family?

Berrie · 05/01/2010 12:27

Lyra is Matthewbellamysmuse at the mo I think. If not it's just the three of us!

crystalfishes · 05/01/2010 12:39

Oh I hope Zeb ok tho? I know she left he DH and everything... did you hear from her again? As for me... where to start....
Well!!

Left my Dh in April last year moved into rented accom with DD. In May and ex by of mine got in touch through facebook and asked if he could come round for a catch up. I said yes but wasnt overly bothered - he wasnt someone I had ever really thought about and it had been 15 years since we went out for 3 months!!! Anyway, he came round, we fell in love and are together now and I have just bought my own house and moved around the corner from him !! I have actually found my soulmate and its great that we went out together before because we already knew each other but now we are just in a whole different place

He's so like me whereas my ex was just the opposite. Of course I'm trying to make things easier for DD in all this, she is naturally unsettled but I havent tried to rush her into a relationship with my bf - they have met a handful of times. He has a son who is 6 and you know my dd is 7 so we've had a few outings together.

I love him to bits and he's gorgeous!!!! I am so happy!!! And he adores me and treats me like gold I'm very lucky!!

As for the salon, I am thinking of selling it as I havent taken any settlement from my ex and we are not yet divorced - I would rather sell shop and use that money as a nest egg.

How are things with you? Have you succumbed to facebook yet haha!!! I have!! Have you seen anybody again or is it just chatting on here x

Berrie · 05/01/2010 13:02

That's brilliant news. So glad you are happy! Do you not have a room for the ironing any more then?

We don't know what happened to Zeb. She was made redundant from her job and she moved from Truro nearer to the farm. She got another job pretty quickly and just disappeared. I suppose we thought she must be too busy in her new job to mumsnet.

We have never met up again. The thread has had a few dodgy dwindling moments and Lyra would like to transfer to facebook!

Are you still enjoying the salon though or did the novlety wear off? What will you do if you sell? What does BF do?

crystalfishes · 05/01/2010 13:09

Ha yes I bought a house with a converted attic specifically to house my ironing!!!

I think facebook a very good idea... not least because I only came back on here to look you guys up and now I have been drawn into looking at all sorts of infuriating threads grrrr for the last two hours - its too addictive!!!

I think the salon novelty has worn off to be honest yes... its been a bit of a whirlwind for my personal life this last year and that took precedence over prettying other people up if you know what I mean.. I needed some attention for myself haha!!

My dp is an electrical contractor (apparently this makes him a loser - as my exh (stockbroker) told our dd ) my biggest battle is to try and give dd a decent upbringing where she is not constantly exposed to exh ridiculously pompous and self-agrandisizing attitude. I'm not sure thats a real word but you know what I mean

Berrie · 05/01/2010 13:14

Do know what you mean!
Is exdh good about keeping in touch with dd then? Is it hard having to see him? Does he have anyone else?

Berrie · 05/01/2010 13:15

What made you look us up?

oggsfrog · 05/01/2010 13:21

< dashes onto thread >

HEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

I'm up to my armpits in dead poultry. I'm on FB. You know my name don't you?

Can't catch up with thread yet as need to clean up the dead chicken parts. Will come back when I've finished and cleaned up.

Berrie · 05/01/2010 13:26

Oh I'll just sit here on my own then shall I when you all piss off to facebook!?

Berrie · 05/01/2010 13:36

Oggs is dashing to the thread 'cause I just messengered her to let her know you were here. Oggs has broadband now you know!

crystalfishes · 05/01/2010 14:32

Yes he sees dd 3 and half days a week. He has been seeing someone for 3 months and is unfortunately behaving a bit badly in my opinion - he has more or less moved his new gf and her 7 y.o. daughter into the house regardless of dd feelings. Imagine getting home from being with me to find anothert 7 y.o. little girl - a stranger at that - in your bedroom??

I've tried and failed to appeal to his sensitive side so I just have to make life as good and comfortable as possible for dd whilst she is with me. She has started asking to spend time with my bf and his son so thats a good sign I think. Its gf daughters father wants nothing to do with them so I suppose she doesnt understand my viewpoint as her co-parent doesnt care for her child in the way I do for my dd. Anyways!!! Enough about that - except what you cant change and all that!!!

Get theeself on facebook Berrie, you know it makes sense oh and I missed you all thats why I looked you up

crystalfishes · 05/01/2010 14:33

Am trying desperately to recall Oggs' name...

crystalfishes · 05/01/2010 14:36

Berrie · 05/01/2010 14:37

fortyplus · 05/01/2010 14:42

Berrie · 05/01/2010 14:43

crystalfishes · 05/01/2010 14:44

I think I've got it.. have sent a friend request. So tell me Berrie, how are you?

Berrie · 05/01/2010 14:46

God oh God, it has reactivated my account just like that! It's evil I tell you!

crystalfishes · 05/01/2010 14:47

Oooh... what is name on it then... private message me!! I remember your surname but you not your first remiss of me I know

Berrie · 05/01/2010 14:50

I'm fine thanks!

Had a crappy couple of years with back pain which resulted in an emergency op in November followed by undiagnosed chronic head pain which had me back in hospital for a bit and everyone rather worried. Am on the mend now and due to start work again tomorrow! I've really enjoyed being off!
I lost about a stone in weight whilst ill and was feeling pretty pleased but then Christmas happened. Oh well. It's always the way!

crystalfishes · 05/01/2010 14:51

Aww poor you, but glad you're on the mend hows the family?

Berrie · 05/01/2010 14:52

I've know idea how to use it! It says it'll take an hour or so to remember me properly. I signed up years ago and got fed up with the increasing number of people who requested to be my friend. I'm not as sociable as you you see!
