Hi, hope you find this thread. The old one was too big.
Varifocals eh? Not sure I'd fancy that.
DP took me out to lunch today, to The Ivy. Twas really nice, good food and service, great decor, lovely stained glass windows. I only saw one sleb - Trisha Goddard with (I presume) her daughter.
I had seared scallops with bacon, followed by the rib-eye with chips and creamed spinach (with too much nutmeg in it).
It's been a funny old week. The house is a tip because I've hardly been in it (except to catch up on sleep). We're off on holiday on Saturday morning and I've organised nothing. Gulp!

Right, have been out.
Pasta it is. Tagliatelle with spinach, marscapone and parmesan.

Oggs, I have posted the dvd to you anyway, just in case dh manages to dig you out.

oggsfrog · 31/12/2009 14:18

Dh got stuck, had to abandon the car and walk back

Pip pup just found a dead bird and rolled in it with great relish

Thanks Berrie x

Lyra, what are you up to tonight?

Berrie · 31/12/2009 16:07

That pup is a truely dirty dog!

MattBellamysMuse · 31/12/2009 17:15

We're not doing much tonight. Last year we went to a fancy dress party which was fun but this year will be a quiet one with a bottle (or two) of Cava and party food. I'm making cheese and leek tarts, sausage and caramelised onion rolls, something with prawns, garlic bread and a Co-op cheesecake. The boys have been told they can stay up late but DS1 was up at 5.45am today so I can't see him lasting till midnight.

Berrie · 31/12/2009 18:01

That sounds nice Lyra
Dh has made the pasta. We have a bottle of champagne (a gift) and some pink fizzy something or other. I fI have any room left I am going to treat myself to some Christmas pudding. I bought it for myself the other day. No one else likes it and my mother's was dissapointing this year.

MattBellamysMuse · 31/12/2009 18:27

Must. Stop. Eating. Tarts. There'll be none left for DP when he gets home.

MattBellamysMuse · 31/12/2009 18:28

Hmm, we have a Christmas pudding left too. Actually it's from last year but use by is March 2010. Maybe I shall partake too.

Berrie · 31/12/2009 19:30

Mmmm champagne, black olives, cashew nuts...cold coming on?
DH not back? What is going on politically at the mo?

oggsfrog · 31/12/2009 20:30

Lyra, that food sounds delicious .

oggsfrog · 31/12/2009 21:16

MattBellamysMuse · 31/12/2009 21:55

He had to write a round up of the year thing. Didn't get home till after 8.

Berrie · 01/01/2010 08:35

New year greetings!

Went to bed at 10 Had opened the second bottle but couldn't drink it.Twas our last night as well so I've just glugged it down the sink. I've got a cold so I wasn't into it. Christmas pud for breakfast though. Yum!

oggsfrog · 01/01/2010 12:29

Morning Afternoon !

We all had a very late lie in this morning and I'm just off to make bacon butties.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Berrie · 01/01/2010 20:00

Oh Dr Who...too too sad....sob...real sob

MattBellamysMuse · 01/01/2010 21:50

I don't like the new Doctor. He was trying too hard to be 'zany' I thought. And he's not David Tennant, so he can never be any good.
I don't think any other Doctor has had such a long, drawn-out farewell.

Berrie · 02/01/2010 09:08

Yes twas a bit silly but how I cried!

oggsfrog · 02/01/2010 12:38

No more Doctor Tennant

I have the first series box set. I'm going to have to save up and get the rest I think.

Berrie · 02/01/2010 13:01

Ds was a bit disturbed by my quivering chin. he couldn't understand it and how could I explain that I luuurrrved Doctor Tennant.

Berrie · 02/01/2010 20:19

Poor Oggs. There is a -8 on you tonight. Brrrrr!

oggsfrog · 03/01/2010 09:38

It was cold last night and was lower than -8. We live in a frost pocket so very low temps aren't uncommon.

If anything we get too hot because we have to leave the radiators on to stop the pipes freezing, and can't have the window open properly because the cats use it as a very large catflap

Dh and a neighbour managed to get out yesterday but it took them all day, they had to dig the track clear in some places and they came off the track four times.
Looking increasingly like dd will not be heading back to school on Tues.

Berrie · 03/01/2010 10:52

Poor Dd . Does that mean the track is not clear even though they got out? Or did they get out but it's too dangerous? Or is it still snowing?

oggsfrog · 03/01/2010 12:54

Too dangerous (for most of the 4 miles to the main road there is either a sheer drop to a river, a drop down hillside or a drop into a water culvert), and also would take too long to be feasible.
In good weather each school run is a round trip of an hour.

A neighbour has just walked over and he and dh are discussing how so little snow can actually throw us back into the dark ages.
If one of us had a bad accident/illness we would be buggered.

To top it off the pc stopped working this morning. I have done troubleshooting with my more computer savvy db and we reckon the cpu has gone.

< tears hair out > Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!!!!!!!

Berrie · 03/01/2010 13:47

Yikes!!!
Surely there is a rescue helicopter!?

Dh has found the problem getting those programmes off the digi recorder. He has downloaded the last Dr Who.

Berrie · 03/01/2010 14:14

Good job you got the laptop.

MattBellamysMuse · 03/01/2010 14:45

How does he do it Berrie? I need to get some stuff off my V+ box.
