Hi, hope you find this thread. The old one was too big.
Varifocals eh? Not sure I'd fancy that.
DP took me out to lunch today, to The Ivy. Twas really nice, good food and service, great decor, lovely stained glass windows. I only saw one sleb - Trisha Goddard with (I presume) her daughter.
I had seared scallops with bacon, followed by the rib-eye with chips and creamed spinach (with too much nutmeg in it).
It's been a funny old week. The house is a tip because I've hardly been in it (except to catch up on sleep). We're off on holiday on Saturday morning and I've organised nothing. Gulp!

Ooh, big step! How exciting. I'm sure you'll be just fine. Will you look for something similar or go for a complete change?

Bad head. Wine induced. Gah.

Berrie · 04/12/2009 12:59

My brother tells me nothing!

Scroll dowm Kerstin S's website. There are two pictures at the bottom with her wearing some sunglasses designed and made by my brother. Tut!

Actually, he sites someone else in the design so maybe he made someone's design idea work. Don't know, like I say he tells me nothing!

oggsfrog · 04/12/2009 16:52

Ooh! How do you know they are your brother's glasses?

Berrie · 05/12/2009 09:54

He sends his monthly CEO report to my Mum for corrections He'd put them in there as one of the companies achievements this month.

Berrie · 05/12/2009 09:54

Company's Sorry Lyra!

MattBellamysMuse · 05/12/2009 22:52

I went to see New Moon tonight. It was really good! They were far more faithful to the book than they were with Twilight. The bigger budget probably helped a fair bit.
Berrie, how are you getting on with the Stieg Larsson books? Or was it Oggs who ordered them? I can't remember. My brain doesn't work as well as it used to.

Berrie · 06/12/2009 10:27

I've read them all.
I enjoyed them but found the first halves hard to get through before they became gripping!

oggsfrog · 06/12/2009 10:44

I've not been doing much reading at all recently.

New Moon is great isn't it? I've ordered How To Be from Amazon for myself for Christmas

oggsfrog · 06/12/2009 19:28

I --trood- trod stood on a slug last night on the way to bed and it popped and it's insides came completely outside.
I've never popped one before.

Bleurgh. Bleurgh. Bleurgh.

MattBellamysMuse · 06/12/2009 21:37

Oh, I've done that. Horrible. And the slime clings to your skin. Even after a hot bath I still had traces of slime on my foot.

Berrie · 07/12/2009 08:11

Me too!

MattBellamysMuse · 07/12/2009 14:24

What are you both up to this week? I'm out on Tuesday and Thursday nights to Christmas parties and DP has a freebie trip to Singapore coming up. Then there's school plays, panto trips, children's parties etc. We took the boys to the now annual party at 11 Downing Street last week and they brought back pictures for Show nd Tell.
The hard work of the Christmas bazaar is out of the way thank goodness.
Only four more work shifts then I'll be officially unemployed. Yikes!

MattBellamysMuse · 07/12/2009 17:27

What do you think of my suggestion of moving over to Facebook? it would be nice to have private chats without wondering who's reading what we post.

oggsfrog · 08/12/2009 08:38

But how would we have a three way running chat?
There must be a way of setting up something so that only we have access to it but is a running one rather than a live one? Is there anything we could do on yahoo groups or google?

MattBellamysMuse · 08/12/2009 12:33

One Facebook we could chat via message (not the live one). You can message more than one person at a time. I've done it with my brother and sis.

oggsfrog · 08/12/2009 20:18

I don't like Facebook though.
I do like having a running chat where I can scroll through and it's all in one place.

oggsfrog · 11/12/2009 07:02

... .... .... tumbleweed .... ... ...

Did you both bugger off somewhere without me?

Berrie · 11/12/2009 08:07

Nope.
Still here.
Bit glum that's all.

MattBellamysMuse · 11/12/2009 12:14

Still here. I have a raging hangover after partying with the parents from ds2's class last night. We went for a Chinese and much wine was consumed.
Just been to ds2's nativity play which was incredibly sweet. He was a narrator.

oggsfrog · 14/12/2009 10:10

Still here.
Dd not well. She spent all day yesterday throwing up and has headache and temp.
Very frosty so no running water. (Not ideal with sick situation)

Berrie · 14/12/2009 11:28

I stole a David Tennant fridge magnet for you Oggs. (from my son, on my fridge) There are loads of them but he noticed and I had to give it back.

oggsfrog · 14/12/2009 13:38

< wonders what she has that she can offer to trade >

MattBellamysMuse · 14/12/2009 14:10

Ah, you guys are back. I've been chatting on other threads about live bands and books.
What did you do over the weekend?
DP's away so me and the boys had a lazy Saturday morning (not possible with DP here) watching Paul Blart: Mall Cop and went swimming in the afternoon then had a Chinese feast in the evening.
On Sunday we went to rugby training in the morning then to a cinema party in the afternoon, followed by Christmas shopping. Very busy and very tiring.
And DP's just announced that when he gets back from Singapore, he will come home, unpack, repack and head straight back to the airport to fly to the Copenhagen climate change summit.
I'm quite enjoying having the boys (and the bed) to myself so I don't mind but DS1 will be sad that he's going to miss his Christmas concert tomorrow night.

Berrie · 14/12/2009 14:19

Oh that's a shame. Ds was upset that dh couldn't go to his nativity having taken so much time off while I was in hospital.

This weekend dh fixed my car. The blower on the heater had broken so the windscreen was all misty. He had to take the dashboard off. It took him 3 hours. We went to the farmers' market. I bought some most delicious sprouts, some fairly ordinary beetroot and a Christmas tree. We had roasted veg and feta cheese with the XFactor final. I forgot we'd eaten it the next day and wondered why my wee was red.
We decorated the tree and made mince pies. Later I watched the final with guacamole, salsa, and cheese on tortilla chips made by DH hence the way too powerful garlic breath this morning. It was delicious though. Dh just kept me company as he thinks X Factor is rubbish.

Oggs, I think I pushed it too far by nicking an,'I love Dr Who' magnet too!
