I am not a slut or a whore

I have a pole in my lounge for exercise, it takes up less room than my airwalker or a bike.

Apparently only whore, sluts and dirty women pole dance.

OK I am not very good yet and I find it all difficult but I want to do it and the himself has no such thoughts other than where he was fitting it.Yes I would like to be able to get off the ground but it will (hopefully) happen eventually.

I'm intrigued if it would make a difference - sort of if a woman who has been married 20 years is less weirdy with a pole than a single mum.

It wasn't a dig at anyone, just random musing

AnyFucker · 08/09/2009 18:27

mustrunmore, I don't want a row with you honestly and I know you are not picking a fight

its just not the same however as the examples you give

whether you accept it or not, pole dancing has sexual connotations

maybe not in your family

but rightly or wrongly, for many people it is just one example of how women sugjugate themselves to men

AnyFucker · 08/09/2009 18:28

lol, at flame

and maybe poledancers are more likely to feed their kids on a constant diet of froot shoots and sausage rolls and give them cola in a bottle.........

clumsymum · 08/09/2009 18:29

Query.

None of us would have known about the pole in your living room if you hadn't started this thread.

In fact, I guess none of us would even have speculated on the fact.

So, you may believe you are not a slut or a whore (I'm not qualified to comment), but I suspect you are an exhibitionist, hence this thread and your profile photos.

And there is no law against it.

But if you didn't want adverse comments (as well as positive ones), why start the thread?

mustrunmore · 08/09/2009 18:31

Dont worry, I think you're great AF But I do think its the same principle as people being called slutty because they work in Ann Summers or something, or, yes, suddenly showing ankles in days gone by. Those both have sexual connotations.
Thinking there's something sordid about a pole in your home or in the gym (as opposed to in a dubious club in a soho basement), is due to bad misinformation/assumptions about the unknown etc.

AnyFucker · 08/09/2009 18:31

whoa clumsymum, the OP is not mustrunmore who has pics of herself poledancing on her profile........

AnyFucker · 08/09/2009 18:31

and interestingly, the OP has posted and fucked off

mustrunmore · 08/09/2009 18:32

Clumsymum, what an apt name; if you bothererd to look you'd see that the person who started the thread doesnt have a profile page, so how do you know what her pics look like?

mustrunmore · 08/09/2009 18:33

Lol x posts AF!

EleanoraBuntingCupcake · 08/09/2009 18:33

the op is lying concussed in her livingroom having mistimed a particularily difficult descent

Flamesparrow · 08/09/2009 18:34

@ implying poledancers would feed their children crap. they are clearly more body conscious than the rest of us so would have little shardonaaaaaay on low fat yoghurts etc.

southeastastra · 08/09/2009 18:34

wow i'm extra prudey as i think it's a bit, well, weirdy

Flamesparrow · 08/09/2009 18:35

I remember a night in A&E waiting for DD to wee (long story), and the girls in the area next to us were there because they had decided to attempt pole dancing in some bar and had a bad head injury (plus being completely wasted)

mustrunmore · 08/09/2009 18:36

Fwiw Flame, but gut image when you said 'woman been married 20 years' was of a hideous overweight grumpy old woman smoking fags while she tries to totter round the pole So thats my preconceived stereotype. See? We all have them

AnyFucker · 08/09/2009 18:37

mrm, I don't think it is sordid between 2 consenting adults, in private

but posting pics of it on the internet for all weirdos people to see is a bit silly, especially when you also have full-face ones of your kids on there, which was my point

and trying to project your own feelings that it is innocent, and just a bit of fun onto everybody else is naive, IMO

you cannot control how other people think about a particular subject by force of will, you know

but then I am old, and I don't expect to understand the ways of youth....

mustrunmore · 08/09/2009 18:38

Flame, I've never tried it pissed! Not that daft.

Ok, if it helps you, the boys are currently eating chicken breast, asparagus, broccoli, mini baked spuds. But may I go to hell, they're getting ice cream for pudding. And they had squash after school, even if it was organic.

thesouthsbelle · 08/09/2009 18:39

i'd love to be able to do it, but the class in the gym is quite late at night so can't get up there - is it something that's easy to learn yourself at home?

mustrunmore · 08/09/2009 18:40

Af, why do you think I'm young?! How old are you?

And whats the link with the photos? How is i bad to have the kids up there in conjunction with the pole? Everyone knows I pole dance, and people that dont know dont know my kids either.

Flamesparrow · 08/09/2009 18:40

Are they eating the broc and asparagus???? (randomly flipping to the subject of your veg rejecting children...)

AnyFucker · 08/09/2009 18:40

oi, I have been married nearly 20 yrs and am as fit as fuck

I dance on my husbands pole very regularly

Flamesparrow · 08/09/2009 18:40

she thinks you're young because you look about 18...

AnyFucker · 08/09/2009 18:41

you look young on your pics

are you not ?

lou33 · 08/09/2009 18:43

the assumptions on this thread are very frutrating

mustrunmore · 08/09/2009 18:43

Lol, you say the sweetest things Flame. Of course, looking young prob makes me bad in some people's eyes too!

Well, after that thread ds1 found out her liked asparagus alot! The rest is going by your theory of slap it on.

EleanoraBuntingCupcake · 08/09/2009 18:44

what assumptions?

my assumption that the op has knocked herself out in her living room?
