Groan. I stayed up until 4:30 last night/this morning.

OP posts:
Berrie · 01/07/2009 07:50

Oggs why oh why? You've only had 3 hours?

oggsfrog · 01/07/2009 08:09

New knitting challenges over on Rav were being posted and last months handed in. I'm a dork! A tired dork.

OP posts:
Berrie · 01/07/2009 08:16

Will you be able to catch up today?

oggsfrog · 01/07/2009 08:53

Catch up with what? All the work I didn't do yesterday because I was frantically trying to finish projects?

Just booked this for DS1's birthday party. I'm prying it won't rain!

LyraSilvertongue · 01/07/2009 10:02

Praying

oggsfrog · 01/07/2009 10:25

That looks like fun Lyra!

Berrie · 01/07/2009 11:05

Yikes..that looks scary Lyra!

Catch up with sleep!

oggsfrog · 01/07/2009 11:23

God, no time for sleep. So much to do, so little time...

It's going to be a bunch of 7-year-old boys and a few tomboyish girls. They're going to love it! I didn't invite the more delicate girls for obvious reasons.

LyraSilvertongue · 01/07/2009 11:29

Oggs, if only we could do without sleep like the Cullens. We'd get so much done.
Hmm, tempted to reread the Twilight series. Must resist...
Actually I've got book 3 of Mortal Instruments to read first and the damn library, where I got books 1 and 2, doesn't seem to have it.
I'm currently reading A Prayer for Owen Meany, which is good but not unputdownable.

oggsfrog · 01/07/2009 12:52

I've never read that, but I heard the dramatisation on R4 which was very good.

Today R4 at 2:15 is Torchwood.

OP posts:
LyraSilvertongue · 01/07/2009 13:00

I didn't know there was a dramatisation. there are long tracts which are all about religion and church going on which I'm finding myself skipping through.

Berrie · 01/07/2009 13:23

Am orf to the hospital to see the back specialist in a bit. Am worried that he is going to laugh and send me away now that it doesn't hurt so much. On the other hand I am scared I'll have to have an mri (am a bit claustrophobic) ah well, I'll let you know.

oggsfrog · 01/07/2009 13:45

Good Luck Berrie!

Sooooooo
I try to follow the in sructions on the letter to find the clinic... after much srtiding up and down the corridor, I go to recpetion who send me to the hand clinic...all the way back at the end of the long corridor. they send me to orthopedics in a differnt part of the hospital (down many long corridors and up stairs) They send me back to the loooong corridor I started in. If I didn't have a back problem before I got there I did by now!

Aaaanyway. The air con was not working in there and the consultant was rushing up and down the corridor between patients in consulting rooms. He rushed into mine...listened to half my story with half an ear. had a quick feel of my spine and asked me to stand on tiptoes and on my heels. He said I could have some injections into the joint. They would take away 50% of the pain though it might take 2 or 3 tries. He couldn't say whether it would come back again next spring. This was all said at a million iles an hour then he turfed me out saying my appointment would come in the post! A result of sorts I suppose. I just feel a little nervous as he didn't get the full story or all of my symptoms. I guess he knows what he is doing.

LyraSilvertongue · 01/07/2009 19:05

It's a start isn't it, Berrie? Are you not expecting to have much trouble till next spring?
This thread is very amusing.

Berrie · 01/07/2009 19:09

I have got used to the pain now I suppose but it is still constant and I get pins and needles in my right leg when I sit down. I'm glad that something is to be done...I'm not sure I've had a diagnosis I supppose.

Will look at thread now.

Berrie · 01/07/2009 19:13

Have you not thrown in those trousers I sent to Oggs yet?

LyraSilvertongue · 01/07/2009 19:16

Which ones? Most of them were terrible

LyraSilvertongue · 01/07/2009 19:17

You will be very tempted by the 'Mommy and Me' dresses.

Berrie · 01/07/2009 20:32

Oh dear oh dear oh dear.
Having said that dd and I have a matching maxi dress and skirt but only because of the left over material when our relative made them for us!

oggsfrog · 01/07/2009 20:51

That thread was upside down. It threw me.

That Hanky top is exactly the sort of thing I used to wear . Don't think it's that bad even now, nor the skirt.
The embroidered denim skirt in the sales bit is okay too.

Berrie, that's exactly the sort of experience I had when I saw a consultant for my knee. Very abrupt, dismissive almost and I left feeling like something on a production line.

OP posts:
LyraSilvertongue · 01/07/2009 20:58

I didn't think the hanky top was that bad either, although I wouldn't wear it. The modesty clothing is a bit freaky though, non?
