A bit of a mixed bag then? How is dh's dad?

Sounds like those reps were a bit of a nightmare (what is yawping? I wonder if I've ever been guilty of doing it Is it rude? ).

Bugger about your purse. That's a lot to lose. Did it have other stuff (cards etc) in it?

...and Lyra's dp!

FIL will not do as he is told. He has a neurological problem which means that the valve that prevents food going down the wrong pipe is not in sync with his swallowing. He is supposed to eat mushed food and only drink thickened liquids as 10% of anything else goes into his lungs causing an infection. He won't accept this though and when they wouldn't let him have an orange juice the other day he refused to eat or drink anything else. Sigh. So, currently he has a lung infection. Hopefully now we are back we can encourage him to behave but I wouldn't count on it.(We've had this sort of thing before)

Yes there were cards which I cancelled.

Is DP back at work Lyra? Will things slow down for him a bit when Parliament breaks up for summer?

Yawping....er...gobby shouting I suppose. Is that a regional word then?

Report
oggsfrog · 23/06/2009 13:50

Must be. Like swoosh

from urban dictionary...
"Used in the Midlands. The act of bellowing at someone "down the street", especially from a window. Also used for communication within households that avoid personal contact. Often volume obscures pronunciation.
"Stop your yawping, mam""

Is swoosh there? I've a feeling it's just me!

I've looked. Many entries for swoosh but not mine!

Berrie, he didn't take any time off work. It all happened over a weekend and he was back at work on Monday morning. And he wonders why he's still having pains...
Shame about those noisy reps - it's usually other people who ruin a holiday with their noise and anti-social antics. Well done for making a complaint.

Berrie · 23/06/2009 16:37

I'd expect to be chucked off if it had been us making that noise.
I'm going to go for money back, it's not on, they had their chance to stop it.

Were the Reps employees of the campsite?

What are you all having for eats?

I've been stuck inside doing paperwork and hadn't noticed how bloody hot it is out there.
The pork casserole to-be is now pork, apple and leek burgers waiting to be bbq'd.

Boys had a playdate so I made spaghetti carbonara because it was quick. Nt sure what DP and I will have later.
It's super-hot down here. my washing dried in about a minute.

What time do you eat Lyra? Do you always cook two meals?

We had to retreat in the face of a midge invasion, so we sat in the caravan keeping an eye on the burgers through the window

Jasper anyone?

That's more like it, Oggs. I'm very partial to a bit of Jackson Rathbone aka Jasper Cullen. But not in the film with that weird hair.
I often eat with the boys (5.30ish) if DP's going to be late then end up ravenous later and eat too many Nik Naks. Sometimes I make a big pot of something that the boys and I can eat and then reheat for DP. Sometimes I cook for them early and then cook for us later.

The kids had boiled egg and soldiers for tea, then dh and I had pasta with pesto later. If I am not working we usually eat together which works our at 3 nights not including weekends.
Not that you asked!

Morning. What's on the agenda for today?
I'm going to finally attempt to get the clean clothes sorted so I don't have to hunt through the teetering pile every morning for school socks, all the while trying to resist the urge to go out and buy Book 3 of the Mortal Instruments series. I finished the second one last night and it was really good. I recommend you all start reading them asap.

Morning.
The reps were Key camp, Euro camp, Canvas Holidays etc but all living together in a sort of fenced off area.

Today I have taught one lesson, shaved my legs, looked at the chaos of the washing and suitcases and decided to come on here instead. At 12 I'll pick up DD and go for lunch with my Dad. I'll come home in time to pick up ds then frantically do something to make dh think I've been sorting it all out.

Zeb, when I got married in Cornwall, my sister(who was supposed to be my bridesmaid) had an ectopic pregnancy. The hospital in Truro were so incompetent she nearly died. So here's another vote for Guys from me.

I'll make lunch then I'll tackle it...

Because it feels wrong to drink at lunchtime, even if it is only the one.

oggsfrog · 24/06/2009 14:33

Are you on your own? Drinking at lunchtime makes me sleepy.

Back from Doctor's where I was weighed and given a new nasal spray to try to get on top of my asthma.

I didn't say anything but a fortnight ago when I was last there I asked for a Liver Function Test.
I got the results today and they were "reassuringly normal". To quote Berrie... Swoosh!

Oggs that is good news...and an excuse to tip some more wine down my neck!

I've had to dust off the inhaler now it's hayfever season - what fun.

So did you say what the results of the weigh in were?

kgs!

I'm pretty desperate at moment as I only have a pair of jeans that I can get into (I've also got a couple of pairs of really scruffy trousers that I wear at home but couldn't go out in).
I've just been trying to find some loose cotton trousers but seeing as most places seem to view a 34" waist as an XL then I've not a snowball in hells chance of finding anything

I'm wearing a pair of loose v. old traidcraft cotton trousers and want something similar, but it's just making me depressed.
I HATE clothes shopping.

Are you at the wine already too? Huh!

I did actually debate whether to stop off on the way home to buy a bottle to celebrate with

Why are all ethnic clothes made for short arse stick people??? I knew some very hefty thais.
