Yeah why not!

I started a thread about it and apparently I'm being unreasonable.
Never venture into AIBU gals - it's dangerous out there.

Gawd, lots of children don't even have breakfast. Some turned up to my school with a can of coke and a mars bar. In Germany you'd have cheese and meat for breakfast, in Uganda, where my friend is, the orphans have eat a sort of maizey slop for every meal. Mine have had rice crispies for tea before now.

Ooops sorry Lyra, got the wrong end of the stick there. Thought you were being flamed for giving them pizza.

I would also be irritated with dh in that situation. I'd also be cross because he'd used tonight's tea for breakfast! I think it's generally really annoying when dp's/h's do stupid stuff because they don't understand the way that the household works or where things are kept even if it's understandable.

Also you were right to be irritated by the posts congratulating DP for making them something to eat. It's on a par with Dh telling me he's emptied the dishwasher for me.

I was a bit at the posts that congratulated him for feeding them at all and not sending them to school with empty bellies. Just because he's a man doesn't mean he shouldn't be expected to feed them properly.
And lots of people said 'it's better than nothing' when nothing wasn't the alternative.
Grr. I think people just love to have a bit of a fight and gang up on someone. Pack mentality.

Swoosh! Am I forgiven then?

Nothing to forgive, dear.

MFL'sF and the other Priest friend are coming to eat tonight. MFL'sF has just left Joseph and is very happy about that. Did I tell you Joseph wouldn't let him go for a final audition for LesMis so they offered him an ensemble part instead? He's gone for a costume fitting today so that should be interesting to hear about and I am fascinated to knoe whether my Priest friend has been to see the thigh and foot bones of St Therese.

Anyway...what was my point? Oh yeah. The place is a tip, I still need to do some packing and I'm off out to see a friend at two so I really ought to get on with it!

Ah bollocks to it. DH can do the hoovering and it'll be too dark to see any dust by the time they come. As long as I've hidden all the crap behind closed doors twill do.

Packing? When are you off again?

Lordy, must remember to go to the library and get some story cd's for the drive to Cornwall too.

Going early Saturday morning. Tee hee!

LyraSilvertongue · 15/10/2009 13:52

Have fun. We're off the following Saturday. I can't believe it's nearly half term already.

Berrie · 15/10/2009 13:53

Dh says we won't need to take many clothes as there is a washing machine there. He can spend the week doing laundry if he wants to but not me!

Report
Berrie · 15/10/2009 13:54

He just wants to make sure there is enough room for his aeroplanes and fishing gear.

Report
LyraSilvertongue · 15/10/2009 18:11

Typical.
Have you bought any new clothes? I would but there's only winter stuff in the shops now.

Report
Berrie · 16/10/2009 07:50

Only a pair of jeans. One of my pairs has developed a hole.
Lordy, we didn't get to bed until the middle of the night. (for me) We had a lovely evening with lots of laughs and we drunkenly booked to see MFL'sF in the LesMis tour next year - at least I remember handing over a cheque for £82.
Now I need to go to work, bake Dh a birthday cake, pack it somehow, finish the packing and clear up for the cleaner while we are away!

Sorry Lyra but I'm in the unconventional-breakfast-lover's posse.
Dd often has fishcakes, semolina, marmite and crackers or pasta for breakfast. I think pizza is a good choice actually

I like nothing better than cold/re-heated curry, soup or spicy noodles for breakfast. I've never liked cereal with milk for breakfast - any other time of the day is fine, I just can't stomach it in the morning.
When I was 17 I used to get up early before work and cook myself fish and chips, pizza or other main meal type stuff for breakfast.

Does ds like his new mattress? Is he sleeping better on it?

Berrie, has dd been sleeping better? When will you be back?

We'll be back the following Saturday.
Woohoo I'm very excited. I have regular dreams about being in Cornwall. I have my own dream resort that does not really exist except in dreams. Often though I don't get to go on the beach and it's really frustrating. It is my favourite place in the whole world!
I got to work this morning and they were having a special Diwali day.My first child was about to do some sand pictures. The Head said go ahead but I couldn't do it to them so I came home. I never mind having a surprise day off but I'd like not to have that got to go to work feeling the day before!

So you'll be getting back just as we're heading off Berrie. I'll be taking my laptop because the villa has wireless broadband so I'll be able to keep in touch.
Oggs, my eyes have been opened to a whole array of breakfast possibilities

That's good Lyra. We are undecided about taking the laptop as Ds spends too long on it as it is.

Report
LyraSilvertongue · 16/10/2009 14:39

I've banned the laptop on weekdays for now to break DSs' addiction to it.
God, I'm exhausted. Went for coffee with friends this morning, then for a swim (I did many lengths then in the sauna) and have just got back from Sainsbury's with a monster shop. I'm also starving as I haven't had lunch yet.
This afternoon DSs have a double play date, then I've got to drop them off at my mum's and go out for the evening, to a comedy club with parents from DS2's class.
Busy, busy, busy.

Yikes, I've had a lazy day in comparison.

Well, I shall say my farwells now. We are not taking the computer and are letting the neighbours borrow it. Dh will take it round in a bit. Have a nice week and make sure you are both still around when I get back!!
