DP just got back this morning from a week in the States (G20 summit etc) and he's just set off for Brighton for the Labour conference. I feel like a single parent.

DP's fine, just very tired from all the gallivanting around the world he's been doing (and prob staying up late drinking with journo chums).

Having family party for DD this afternoon.(4th birthday tomorrow). DH is out doing a 10K run this morning. My mother has agreed to try and be civil to my Father.( I'll believe that when I see it) and my sister is refusing to come at all and has sent a nasty text because I didn't tell her my Dad was coming. I felt like cancelling it all together as I don't think I can take the stress but couldn't do that to DD. Am already having Dh's family over tomorrow separately to my parents because of the differences between our two families. Wish I'd invited my friends instead of family.

Sounds like you'll have your hands full Berrie. Hope it all goes okay without any bloodshed .
I won't be around for the next few days. My db and sil arrive later today and then we'll be away early in the morning.
Will be back on Wed evening.

Working again today. I did the dreaded double shift on Saturday.
It's all a bit difficult with DP being away. I had to get a friend to take the boys to school (she has two girls the same age at the same school).

Yup, fine. Having a busy week. Had carpet fitters in - DS1's room is looking wonderful. Our room next.
In the evenings I've been engrossed in The Girl Who Played With Fire, the sequel to The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. Before that I read a Jodi Picoult, which was stupid sentimental rubbish but I hate giving up on books once I've started them.
What's going on with you?

Not a lot. Off to DS's Harvest Festival this morning, then I really ought to do do some tidying up. Yippee!

I'm back!

Had a brilliant time. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
I surprised myself and dh by going on Ice Blast . Dd refused to watch. I screamed muchly
We ate lots of fish and chips and rock.

Back to reality.
