Very boring day today. Doing nothing.

lyraSilvertongue · 13/08/2009 15:16

We're back!
Groan, I got no sleep at all. The ground mats were so thin they might as well not have been there at all. My hip bones are bruised {grin]
Other than that we had a lovely time. DS1's birthday was yesterday so he chose what we did (we went to a farm where they had Farmer's Golf, a big maze, rides etc).
The best bit was sitting by the campfire in the evening with a glass of (warm) white wine and toasting marshmallows on the end of sticks.
We just got back and DSs have gone to a their friends' house for tea so we'll get a bit of peace and quiet.

oggsfrog · 13/08/2009 17:15

Sounds like you had fun Lyra. The wine and campfire combo is a winner isn't it?

OP posts:
lyraSilvertongue · 13/08/2009 20:30

So few sites allow campfires these days, which is a real shame as it's one of the best bits. Did you and DD have a fun day out?

oggsfrog · 13/08/2009 21:14

We had a lovely time thanks.
We ate our packed lunches by the sea and spent the afternoon walking along the rocks and paddling. I say paddling... dd stripped to her pants and submerged herself completely.
It's a lovely beach with a really gentle gradient so you can go way out and still be only up to your knees

I got 10 hours sleep last night (needed to catch up) but I'm still aching. I'm no spring chicken any more

lyraSilvertongue · 15/08/2009 20:19

Went to see U2/Elbow at Wembley Stadium last night. Was v good. Got home at 2am.

lyraSilvertongue · 15/08/2009 22:00

BTW, there's an MN Twilight support group on FB. Or have we all moved on from that?

oggsfrog · 16/08/2009 13:30

That's a coincidence... I was talking to dd yesterday about U2.

Telling her how much I hated them .

I'm still enamoured of Twilight (particularly RPattz) but I'm trying to cut down my online time and think this would kybosh that plan. I can't have a nosy without requesting to join and am not sure I want to. Have you joined?

OP posts:
lyraSilvertongue · 16/08/2009 17:00

Yes, I've joined. There are only 11 of us so far.
I'm not a huge U2 fan either (esp Saint Bono) but it was a good experience anyway. I really can't wait to see Muse in November now.

Berrie · 16/08/2009 17:41

Hello!
Glad you both had a good time.

In bed with a sore back. I've done a bit too much these past few days. Also got stung by a wasp today. Ow!

You must both watch True Blood!!!!!!

oggsfrog · 17/08/2009 08:35

Yes Sir, Berrie Sir!

I will it watch very soon, but I've been distracted by some videos I picked up cheap. I got three entire series of Angel (that's 18 video tapes, each with three or four episodes on) for £5! Thats approx 54 hrs of viewing!

I'd never seen Angel before but it's been easy to pick up the gist (I've got series 2, 3 and 5).

Lyra, I agree that Muse would be worth seeing, but I've never liked U2.

Oops! Sorry your back is bad again Berrie. You must be really fed up with it.

Where did the wasp sting you?

We're heading off for our boat in Norfolk in about 20 mins. I'm taking my (newly repaired) laptop with me so if I find free wifi I may be able to check in occasionally. Back late Friday.
Bye!

Berrie · 17/08/2009 11:57

Have a lovely time.

On the arm.

oggsfrog · 17/08/2009 19:48

I'd love to do the Norfolk Broads . Hope you all have a wonderful time.
Do you still have your cat? I thought about him the other day. Was it Jasper?

Back on strict diet. Stepped on scales this morning.

Berrie · 17/08/2009 19:52

I prefer the Thames myself. Done both many times.

I keep meaning to do something about my expanding belly but then my back goes. That's my excuse and I'm sicking to it!!

oggsfrog · 18/08/2009 19:22

I'm seeing the practise nurse tomorrow and am dreading being weighed
Started reading The Host - I managed to pick it up at the library.

OP posts:
Berrie · 18/08/2009 19:36

Oh that's good. Was going to post it once I had it back from friend.

Had two very boring days here. Flat on back while dc watched TV and played on laptop. Feel terribly guilty about them and sorry for poor stressed dh. Bad news is I've run out of books for tomorrow. It really will be boring then.

Hey don't worry about the weigh in. You're thinking about it anyway so a number doesn't mean much.

Berrie · 18/08/2009 19:37

I am utterly pissed off but you've heard it all before so I won't bother.

oggsfrog · 18/08/2009 19:45

Just drying dd's hair then getting her to bed but will do msn later if you want a moan.
Go on... it'll do you good to get it off your chest

Slightly better today but might be because I'm mobile enough to be more inclined to get up and get pain killers more regularly. Either way felt good enough to take DS to his asthma appointment but she missed us out and had to sit there for half an hour which didn't help. Armed with more inhalers and spacers so hopefully will get it more in control without fuss of finding the stuff.

Dh has come home early and is out doing the lawns and the hedge too by the sound of it so dcs will get a bit of a run around and fresh air.

Lovely weather for Lyra and co!

Berrie · 19/08/2009 16:23

How did it go today?

oggsfrog · 19/08/2009 20:54

Sorry, v. busy day and knackered now.
Glad back is a bit better. Hope you get ds's asthma under control.
It was as bad as I thought, but am feeling positive.
My new asthma inhaler is working a treat.
Still spending hours on phone dealing with dead uncle stuff.
Dd off on school trip tomorrow so am frying chicken for her butties now.
Been peeing it down all day here. Glad Lyra is getting better weather than here.

Back at school of course. How many weeks do you get there?

Cleaner coming this morning. Provided by relative. I'm under strict instructions not to do any tidying up from dh but tis very untidy. Back v. hurty but I can move which is the main thing.

Glad that you are feeling positive.
