6.5 weeks for summer this year. Miserable and wet here again. Looks like that's it for summer (such as it was) here.

Do Not Do Any Cleaning. That is what the cleaner is for!

OP posts:
Berrie · 20/08/2009 12:00

I wasn't doing cleaning...just tidying up.

Anyway, she's gone now. She's not half as good as the ones that my brother sent when I was in hospital but about 3 times better than me! (in that she does it and I don't - well or not!)

oggsfrog · 20/08/2009 22:51

Sorry I've not been around again. I've spent all evening researching, then buying dh a new mobile phone.

Hopefully will be able to catch up tomorrow.

Off to read The Host now. I love it. I've been staying up into the wee hours reading it the last 2 nights .

Yes tis good!

This has been a hard week. One more day to go. Just lying here, I veer between feeling soooo cross with dc because they won't leave me alone and are bored and fighting and moaning and asking for things all the time and then utterly in love because all I can think is how they are growing up and growing away and are not my chubby babies any more.

oggsfrog · 21/08/2009 09:17

Do you mean one more day to go until dh is off for the weekend and can distract small people?

Off to do some shopping and to find out if I can get a mobile sim unlocked.

OP posts:
Berrie · 21/08/2009 12:12

Yes that is right.
I have just risked a trip to Tesco. I took a big orange pill before we went so I'll probably fall asleep now (and dd will poke me in the eyes demanding I stop resting them and play talky friendly cats with her)
Unfortunately I spent rather more then I should buying stuff for the kids because I feel sorry for them which was really stupid as they will expect stuff every time now. It started with a little cheap car each, then there were some reduced Hello Kitty plates which dd loved so then ds had to have a new packed lunch cup (Ben10) then I treated him to a Ben10 T shirt and so then dd to some kitten socks. I had a new top (loose and baggy as I feel so fat which will actually make me look fatter but I'll feel more covered - might take it back)I bought myself a nice bottle of wine to cheer me up and lots of nice food as we have a visitor this weekend...bugger forgot some ingredients...sigh.

Have you ever grown purple french beans? Tried our first ones last night...the bastards went green when we cooked them! what's the point of that?

oggsfrog · 21/08/2009 17:16

They do go green, but a darker shade than normal french beans .

OP posts:
Berrie · 21/08/2009 17:27

Pah!

oggsfrog · 21/08/2009 20:08

Gah! Just been outbid by 16p on a phone I was after. Bloody ebay. I couldn't refresh the screen quick enough and the new layout is pants.

OP posts:
Berrie · 21/08/2009 21:05

Oh bugger.
We always try to snipe with seconds to go but even then it doesn't always work.

Ooops piiiised on my nice wine...not feeling good..serves me right.

oggsfrog · 22/08/2009 08:26

You did what on your wine? Couldn't you find a loo in time .

I'm feeling the effects of yodka last night. I forget that when you aren't eating so much it affects you more... it wasn't anything to do with the actual amount I drank, oh no.

Got a phone. Got one for dh. Just need to get them unlocked and get new sims as we are switching networks.

OP posts:
Berrie · 22/08/2009 08:41

Jolly good.

Not feeling great this morning. Had a nice dream about a nice man though, tee hee.

oggsfrog · 22/08/2009 08:56

Anyone I would know?

Bloody PayPal payment hasn't been claimed. It's saying seller is unregistered...
Life is never simple is it? {smile]

OP posts:
Berrie · 22/08/2009 12:22

Nah I made him up all by myself.

oggsfrog · 22/08/2009 18:28

Is your visitor still there?

OP posts:
Berrie · 22/08/2009 22:17

Yes, it wasn't him!
Though it might be oddly something to do with the fact that when he and dh get together, dh becomes more laddish and cheekily rude to me and consequently more appealing for some reason.

Our visitor is dh's childhood friend,
best man and our travelling companion. Oviously since dh and I have been together for 22 years I've known him a while too. We've not been close for a few years but have re established contact recently. We have just had the neighbours round for a meal which was nice and it will soon be time for bed.

Tis our anniversary tomorrow. We feel we should go out but I really think I'll be a bit food and drinked up after this weekend and fancying a quiet night. How dull!

Berrie · 23/08/2009 18:21

I put on my wedding dress to show the children today...or rather I put it around me...it didn't button up at all.

Now dd keeps dressing up with a princess skirt on her head...her and her cat are going to marry me!

oggsfrog · 23/08/2009 19:51

Is it a proper meringue one?

I got married in a cotton wrap-over Marks and Sparks dress and flip-flops.

OP posts:
Berrie · 23/08/2009 21:11

Nah...very simple no beads, lace or frills.

oggsfrog · 24/08/2009 06:55

Happy Anniversary for yesterday! How many years? Did you/are you going to do anything?

OP posts:
Berrie · 24/08/2009 07:11

8 years.
No we didn't do anything... apart from me hoiking my dress out!

Going to the new toy library this morning. Do you have any plans?

oggsfrog · 24/08/2009 07:29

PTA minutes, washing, dyeing, de-cluttering, sorting paperwork, trimming the dog, cooking a huge pan of stew...

OP posts:
Berrie · 24/08/2009 08:19

Oh it's all good fun isn't it!

We ae trying not to drink this week. I'd like to diet too at some point but one thing at a time...plus my relative is coming to help today with an anniversary cake.

oggsfrog · 24/08/2009 09:05

Gah!!!!!!! I hate cats!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not really, but I am sooooo fed up of rescuing/disposing of/treading on bodies and body parts.
One of mine is out there now tormenting a vole and I can hear it squeaking. I tried to rescue it but it just sat there when I picked the cat up and I got scratched to bits as she tried to get away.
It's not so bad when they kill them outright but I can't stand it when they play with them while they are still alive.

OP posts:
Berrie · 24/08/2009 09:45

Oh dear another good reason not to bow to dd's cat obsession pressure and get one.

I had a cat as a child and he used to bring in baby squirrels and rabbits.
