Thanks Lyra!

Poor DP. Bloody hell we're getting old. DP/XH's with heart trouble.

Berrie · 14/07/2009 10:10

Morning!
Grrrrrr! It's only the second day of the holiday and they are arguing and fighting. Mind you I had banned the TV and Laptop and was busy with the ironing. I gave them some plasticine which lasted 10 minutes. They coloured for 20, legoed for 15, now they are train tracking. I think we will have to head out soon but I just want to lie down alone in a cool and quiet place and read a book!

LyraSilvertongue · 14/07/2009 11:29

No chance of that, Berrie. No peace and quiet for 6 weeks!
I've got all this to come (they break up next Tuesday).
Today I've been helping out at school. Year 2 are hosting an Island Day. The whole of the infants school has been transformed into a tropical island and the children all went to school in brightly coloured clothes. The year 2s designed and are running all kinds of activities, stalls, games etc and there's Caribbean music and food. They invited children from another primary school and they're all having a fantastic time. This is the sort of thing that makes me really love that school.

LyraSilvertongue · 14/07/2009 11:30

Berrie, have your two discovered Club Penguin? I can't get my two off it. At the moment they're saving up their coins to upgrade their igloo and buy more furniture for it.

Berrie · 14/07/2009 11:32

That sounds lovely.

Club penguin...do I want them to discover it?

Not 6 weeks....7!!

LyraSilvertongue · 14/07/2009 11:38

Ours is more like 7 too once you add inset days etc.
No, you don't want them to discover it. They will become addicted. But it is a good way to keep them quiet
Actually it's really good fun, maybe not so much for you DD but DS would probably really enjoy it. Most of DS1's Year 2 class are into it.

Berrie · 14/07/2009 11:51

I'll have a look!

We usually go back in August but it's September this year for some reason. Not complaining mind as it means we can go away that week now. It's my birthday.

Berrie · 14/07/2009 11:53

Maybe they are still a bit young 5 and 3?

LyraSilvertongue · 14/07/2009 11:55

I'd say 3 is a bit too young, 5 ok.

Berrie · 14/07/2009 12:17

Is it quiet or does it have annoying music?

Berrie · 14/07/2009 12:18

...and will I have to read stuff to him?

LyraSilvertongue · 14/07/2009 13:30

Ah yes, the ability to read helps. But DS2 manages ok. And yes, there is music but not too annoying.

Berrie · 14/07/2009 17:53

My TV and LapTop ban went tits up at lunchtime. We didn't go out because of the rain. I think we'd better get out whilst the sun is shining tomorrow. Ah...Ds has a haircut at 11.15...I wonder if we can go swimming and back before then, lets face it, we'll be up at 6.30am...

oggsfrog · 14/07/2009 21:36

Helllooooooooo

Haven't caught up with thread yet.
Quietish day today. Boat trip around Poole harbour yesterday in glorious sunshine - dd distinctly unimpressed. Pah! Kids.
Maybe Monkey World tomorrow (my birthday!!) - we'll see what the weather's doing.

Managed to get on here briefly but am being strong-armed into having a whisky and ginger. Hope you're all well. Will try and catch up tomorrow.

Haaaaaaaaaaapy Biiiirthday Oggs!

Berrie hands over a lovely card a...flip it's early...a....a...beautifully wrapped gift with just what Oggs always wanted in it, then the door opens and RP comes through the door with a slight smile, a raised questioning eyebrow murmuring, 'I believe it's someone's birthday?'

Have a lovley day!

Berrie · 15/07/2009 07:10

Lyra, what was that site called that you can listen to but not download tracks?

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 15/07/2009 07:22

Berrie, it's called Spotify. It's brilliant.

Happy Birthday Oggs!!!!! xxxxxxx Here's your cake.

Berrie · 15/07/2009 08:51

Ooo thanks Zeb, that was easy!

Groan...another day. I'm not doing so well am I since we are only on our 3rd day of the holidays?...I've a feeling this is going to be a loooong 7 weeks.
Can't be arsed to go swimming and get back for haircut in time...maybe we could go to the museum afterwards...sigh.

LyraSilvertongue · 15/07/2009 09:41

Happy birthday Oggs!
Nice, erm, cake Zeb. Very tasteful
What to do today? I should spend the entire day cleaning as I have DS2's class mums and dads coming this evening for our end of term bash. I foolishly volunteered my house instead of a restaurant.
Or I could run a hot bath and read Twilight. I'm up to the meadow scene. Sigh...

LyraSilvertongue · 15/07/2009 09:46

Ok, Edward wins. I just can't resist that man.

Berrie · 15/07/2009 09:54

Snigger...I just read the first Sookie Stackhouse book. Lots of similarities with Twilight but not nearly as good. Much ruder too!

oggsfrog · 15/07/2009 11:34

Thank you all!

Zeb.... erm... lovely cake. Thanks .
Lyra, I think you made the right decision. No contest really.
Berrie... now that's what I call a present. I'm worried I might wear it out very quickly though

I no have the cleanest kitchen in town. Just the rest of the house to do now...

Berrie · 15/07/2009 13:29

I no have the cleanest kitchen either.

LyraSilvertongue · 15/07/2009 14:19

Doh! Now.
Main living room, hallway and downstairs loo done. Now to tackle the front room, which has been a tip since the piano arrived.
