Number 13?

OP posts:
ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 05/06/2009 17:35

Oh, don't worry about me. I have no problem with a 4 hour drive, as long as there's a bed at the end of it! You get used to that living in Cornwall!

LyraSilvertongue · 05/06/2009 17:36

I don't fancy four hours in the car but I don't mind doing it by train.

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 05/06/2009 17:38

2 hours gets me to Exeter! 2 1/2 is Bristol

LyraSilvertongue · 05/06/2009 17:42

I could get to Bristol in under 2 hours by train from Paddington. Or Bath in even less. Now there's an idea...

LyraSilvertongue · 05/06/2009 17:43

Did you manage to sleep get through your EU funding policy document?

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 05/06/2009 19:04

zzzzzzzz

Berrie · 05/06/2009 19:16

Soooo.....
Feeling worried about dd, decided that the pharmasist I'd consulted yesterday had been wrong that dd's infected grazed knee could be making her feel this ill. By 3pm rang the Doctors' who got me an appointment with the nurse at the same time I was supposed to be picking up ds. Got the next door neighbour to carry dd (my back) and stopped at school and arranged for friend to collect ds. Whizzed to the Doctors' where the nusre took one brief look at her knee and fetched the Doctor who prescribed antibiotics. They took a swab and we need to go back to the surgery before we fly on Monday to see if it's clearing. Unfortunatley the swab results won't be back before we fly so if it's not clearing up we will need to think about what we are going to do. It's all a bit too much for dh who has gone to bed. This holiday is a joke!

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 05/06/2009 19:58

It's one thing after another isn't it Berrie. She's not too poorly to travel is she? poor thing.

Berrie · 05/06/2009 20:04

She's not well at all, not really eating, temperature, sleepy and droopy but we would probably take her on the plane. It's more that if the infection doesn't clear we really need to be here to get the right treatment.

Berrie · 05/06/2009 21:07

Ahh, thanks Lyra...DD just woke up talking gibberish and wet with sweat. I gave her a dose of antibiotics and sand her back to sleep with one Fireman Sam and three Everything's Alright (that's the bit I'm thanking you for) I crept out and she woke up. I sang two more Everything's Alright then Pilate's Dream the Gethsemene ALL the way through which impressed me then my Paused Gardener's World burst into life as it unpaused and I've lost it so now there is some chap talking about TS ELiot. Now I've been enjoying the poetry stuff but I'm afraid The Wastleland...put me off poetry for years....

Berrie · 05/06/2009 22:01

Actually, I'm really enjoying this poetry programme but worried about dd. She's just stirred again. Her hair is soaking with sweat but she is very cold to the touch...

oggsfrog · 06/06/2009 07:18

How's dd Berrie? Hopefully the antibiotics will have kicked in. I do hope she's feeling a bit better.
Did you get much sleep?

oggsfrog · 06/06/2009 07:30

I'm off shortly to the village sheep show where we have a PTC stall.
I'll be sitting in the cold and drizzle, in an open sided (probably leaky) gazebo, running a tombola and a raffle whilst being eaten alive by midges. All day.

Sending 'get well soon' vibes to poor tiny Berrie...

Berrie · 06/06/2009 07:45

Oh dear Oggs that doesn't sound like a good day.

She's okish. I was beside myself with worry imagining all sorts of silly things.

Dh trying to install france on my Dad's TomTom, got to go!

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 06/06/2009 10:59

So is she better this morning Berrie? Poor little mite must be washed out. I have everything crossed for you that you get away on Monday.

Raining here too.

Berrie · 06/06/2009 11:57

She's on the mend hopefully. Still lying on sofa but more her old self (demanding)

Pouring here and watering the allotment thankfully!

oggsfrog · 06/06/2009 20:21

Wooh! Knackered.
It didn't rain, in fact it was great. Very cold and windy to start with but that meant no midges. Mid-afternoon the sun even came out.

Glad dd is feeling more herself Berrie . Did you manage to sort the tom-tom?

Berrie · 07/06/2009 08:33

No not yet.
Have bodged seeing the doctor with dd tomorrow. We fly at 11.15 and the appointment is at 10! Might go when surgery opens and beg to be seen.

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 07/06/2009 09:25

Just buy a map Berrie! Anyway, if you have satnav they will know where you are.

Good luck with the doc, I'm sure they'll be understanding.

Berrie · 07/06/2009 13:35

Ooooo...it might be working!

oggsfrog · 07/06/2009 17:30

All set for the off Berrie? How'd dd?
When will you be back?

Berrie · 07/06/2009 21:16

Helloooo!
All set!
Dd fine!
Will you miss me?
Back on the 22nd.

oggsfrog · 07/06/2009 21:19

Yessssssssssss!

Hope it all goes swimmingly and that you all have an utterly fantastic time.
Remind me again... camping? France?

I'll expect a postcard then shall I?

Yes. Will miss you .

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 07/06/2009 23:05

Hurrah!!!!!! Happy holidays

Postcards all round I hope

Berrie · 08/06/2009 07:13

Oh hec....je voudrais une timbre pour postez cette postcarde a angleterre?....un timbre?...ah bougre it...donnez moi trois bottles de vin rouge avec un slab de brie et deux baguettes s il vous plait!

Just got to take DD to Doctors and beg someone to look at her since I buggered up the time of the appointment and we'll already be checking in by then.

Oh yes...and I've got to go up to school and photocopy by time sheet and get them signed. Oh and go to the post office to send a parcel back. I need to pay the paper bill. But you'll be gald to know I took the books (the one's I could find) back to
the library last night and tied up the beans at the allotment.
