He doesn't really do it for me physically. He's got lovely eyes but the rest of him's a bit funny-looking. And he's rake thin.

This might seem an odd thing for me to be dwelling on Lyra..but how did you manage to cut your hair straight? I keep wondering about it. I know you had the mirrors and everything...I can't do ds's fringe straight and that's in front of me.

How do you reach round the back?

I just hacked at it and it seemed to come off straight. DP says it's straight but he's an unreliable source.

Very sharp scissors are the key.

Do you not like the hairdresser?

Yeah I always think that when I have a go at ds with the ikea scissors.

Hairdresser would have required money. And I'm saving every penny to pay my builder.

He's cheap but he still, rather unreasonably, wants paying for the work he does.
Now, do I get him to rebuild the garage or build wardrobes into the chimney recesses in our bedroom? The latter would be cheaper, and so would get done sooner, but the former is more urgent.
