Number 13?

OP posts:
oggsfrog · 04/06/2009 08:29

God, berrie, you must be all over the place. Fingers crossed.

I have toric lens too. I have to make sure I don't put them in inside out . I stopped using gas permeable ones after I put one in straight from the solution. Yowza! Very bad...
So seeing as I didn't wear them that often too, I switched to disposables.

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 04/06/2009 08:59

Oh Berrie. Which day are you meant to be off? I really hope you get to go, it sounds like you seriously need a break.

Me? Lenses? Gas permeable. They last for years (or they do when you don't loose the chuffing case ), correct my astigmatism, which is nearly as bad as Lyra's, and are pretty much unbreakable. The opticians always hate it when I insist on them instead of disposables because they don't make any money out of me. Having said that, I'm now considering monthly continuous wear. And I've finally invested in reading glasses - tip - a pack of 2 from Asda for £2.

Right, what's happening today team?

Berrie · 04/06/2009 09:13

Oh we're alright. We are kind of used to it. Dh's parents have needed a lot of care over the last few years.
We are supposed to go on Monday. Dh is determined we are going. It's me that feels we shouldn't.

LyraSilvertongue · 04/06/2009 10:39

Go, go, go! You need a break.
I'm about to do some exercise and then I'll be rearranging the front room to accommodate the piano, which is being delivered on Saturday.
I've been to vote this morning.

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 04/06/2009 17:47

So you've decided on the location of the old joanna?!

And I agree with Lyra, go on holiday woman!!!! You need and deserve it!!!

I have my dvd waiting for me But I'm out tonighte

To my shame, I haven't voted today. I didn't get around to re-registering when I moved. Mea culpa. I am normally the first person to abuse women when they don't exercise their hard won right to vote.

LyraSilvertongue · 04/06/2009 18:23

Yes, the front room has a big bay window with nothing in it. If I move the table with the TV on it under the window, the piano can go where the table was. I was supposed to do that this afternoon but instead I sat in the sun reading my book
I also have my DVD so may watch it tonight. Thanks Oggs.

oggsfrog · 04/06/2009 19:19

Oh bum! I didn't vote.
I forgot all about it. I'm not driving a 20 mile round trip now just for that.

LyraSilvertongue · 04/06/2009 22:48

I was thinking, perhaps the summer, when Oggs is in England, would be a good time for another meet-up. Either with the children, maybe a picnic or something, or a ladies-only wine-fest. It can't be that hard to find somewhere accessible to us all. Zeb and Oggs will be west, me and Berrie will be east, so meet in the middle?
Whaddayareckon?

Berrie · 05/06/2009 08:31

Good idea if we can arrange it!

I didn't get to vote because dd is poorly. She has a temperature, is sleepy and weak and is not eating but no other symptoms. I spent most of the day on our bed with her because she kept dozing then jumping awake in fright and saying odd things. Dh was not home for long before he had to go visiting FIL hospital. Should have squeezed it in somewhere.

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 05/06/2009 09:21

I agree. A good idea. Where's the middle? Err, Birmingham?!

LyraSilvertongue · 05/06/2009 09:44

Ahem.... another rash purchase...
I just paid £174 (yikes!) for two tickets to see Muse at the O2 in November. Ticketmaster had sold out by the time I got back from the school run. Tickets face value is £45. Bah.

oggsfrog · 05/06/2009 10:02
Shock
LyraSilvertongue · 05/06/2009 10:08

I know, I'm a bit too but I have to see them live, I just have to.

LyraSilvertongue · 05/06/2009 10:12

It's cold and rainy here and I'm working all day

oggsfrog · 05/06/2009 10:16

I'm sorry dd isn't well Berrie. Hopefully it will be a 24 hr thing and she'll feel better soon.

I love the idea of a meet up. Not sure I'll be able to work it in time/money wise but we'll see...

oggsfrog · 05/06/2009 10:20

Cold and rainy here too. I've got loads to do.

Berrie · 05/06/2009 11:58

Cold but no rain...yet.

Where are your parents again Oggs? What is your nearest big town?

Been to work this morning and Ma looked after dd...she's a bit brighter this morning unlike DH and I who had to share a bed with her.
Now I need to find a car to hire, sort out my pay claim for this month, buy something for friend who is coming for tea (tricky as at home with dd)...er...sort out cases and make a list of all the things we are likely to forget. Collect Ds...again tricky.

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 05/06/2009 12:37

Anyone want to read a 200 page document on EU funding policy ? Thought not. I'm going to have a cheese and bacon sarnie to bolster me....

oggsfrog · 05/06/2009 13:09

I'll pass on that Zeb.

Anyone want to rip out and fold into quarters approx 500 raffle tickets?

Berrie, I fly down to Bournemouth (if I can get my act together and book the bloody tickets), and the nearest big town other than that is probably Salisbury or Yeovil.

LyraSilvertongue · 05/06/2009 13:10

We could meet in Salisbury. Is that too far for you, Berrie? It would be a couple of hours' drive max for me.

oggsfrog · 05/06/2009 13:11

or Poole maybe... all these are about an hour or so away from parents'

oggsfrog · 05/06/2009 13:12

It's a long way for Berrie or Zeb I think

Berrie · 05/06/2009 14:00

It is a long way 3-4 hours and there are no direct trains.

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 05/06/2009 14:28

I can get to Salisbury in around 3 1/2 hours. And my brother lives near there.

I'm being a total geek. I'm working with the BBC news on for the election results.

LyraSilvertongue · 05/06/2009 17:24

Hmm, 3-4 hours is a bit long. None of us should have to travel for more than 2. I'll consult my map...
