How long are you gone for?

OP posts:
oggsfrog · 01/05/2009 16:42

Ooh, that was a bit sudden wasn't it? Where'd she go?

Buy anything interesting Lyra?

I have been absolutely shattered today. I took dd with me to do the shopping so it took a lot longer than necessary.

I tried in vain to get hold of the book Zeb mentioned, but neither Asda, Tesco's nor Morrisons had it.
I was also going to treat myself to the double disc dvd set but nowhere had it! I'll just have to watch it again on the computer.

Survive the day Berrie?

MatthewBellamysMuse · 01/05/2009 18:09

Nothing interesting - door handles, yet more paint. Everything costs a fortune.

Berrie · 01/05/2009 19:18

I've not seen the special disc either. I'll have to Amazon it.
I was pretty crap today I'm afraid. First full day i've done in weeks! Fortunately I still get paid.
Dh off to flying club. I've got to wait in for my Tesco disaster delivery. Do you reckon the person will say anything?

Berrie · 01/05/2009 20:10

I'll bet that's fooked my back goodn' proper! Why did I think it would be a good idea to take delivery of lots of heavy tins and stuff on a night hen dh wasn't here. All the time I could hear dd who should have been asleep wittering something about water. When I got up there she is holding the plastic bag dh uses to cover his bandaged hand in the shower, full of water and her bedroom floor and bed is soaking. She is a baaaaaaaad girl!

MatthewBellamysMuse · 02/05/2009 10:33

Naughty DD
What are you up to today? I'm off to Richmond to buy a light fitting from Habitat (our Habitat has sold out), then to Screwfix to pick up the door handles we ordered, then look after the boys while DP paints very slowly. He's really not a good DIYer but at least he tries. Yesterday he spent about two hours fitting a door handle that Ben the Builder could have done in 5 minutes.

Hello

We went to see FIL this morning and stayed for lunch. This afternoon we had a family birthday gathering. I made a delicious carrot cake. Next we went to see the next door neighbours and we've just got back.

oggsfrog · 03/05/2009 02:21

Hello .

Berrie, you've buggered me with this Twilight thingy.
I'm spending all my far too much time googling the sublime rpattz, and watching the film.

2:17am again, and I haven't started reading Midnight Sun yet...

Dd much better. I'm bloody shattered.

Berrie · 03/05/2009 08:02

Oh dear Oggs. What does dh say?

oggsfrog · 03/05/2009 08:22

He hasn't commented on my RPattz obsession just the late nights...
Thinks I'm mad. He's in bed by 10:30ish.

How's the tardis coming along?

Berrie · 03/05/2009 19:57

Dh didn't mention the pictures I put up on our bedroom wall at all. I wouldn't have liked him putting a bit of totty up at all. Still he had already had to get used to my DT Hamlet poster!

MatthewBellamysMuse · 04/05/2009 07:20

Morning. What are we all up to today? I'm working till 3 and DP is taking the boys hiking across Richmond Park. At least a 6-mile round trip

Morning! Do you get extra for a bank holiday?

We were supposed to be up the allotment but it's raining.

MatthewBellamysMuse · 04/05/2009 09:26

Nope, not a penny extra for bank holidays. They pay extra if you have to work Christmas Day but that's it. Luckily I've managed to avoid that so far.

OP posts:
Berrie · 04/05/2009 09:32

Booo!
Anyhing intersting happening in the world today?

MatthewBellamysMuse · 04/05/2009 09:36

Nope. Swine flu, Harriet Harman, nothing interesting.

Berrie · 04/05/2009 12:21

How dull.

Oggs, I am now on my 4th attempt at the tardis. The 3rd attempt ended mid morning when I found that I had gained 2 more stitches again. I am up to the 8th row again and still have 38. Things nearly went wrong when dh stuck both fingers to his aeroplane with superglue and asked for help. he wanted me to cut between his finger ad the plane with a scalpel. I tried twice but couldn't bring myself to do it but he managed to pull it off and cut the other fingers off himself.

MatthewBellamysMuse · 04/05/2009 13:05

DH's plane habit is getting to be a bit hazardous!

OP posts:
Berrie · 04/05/2009 17:58

Ha if that were all!

We have spent our bank holiday afternoon in A&E. We were out in the garden digging in the soil. Every one of us was filthy and DS slipped over and banged his head on the corner of the car trailer. The gash in his brow obviously needed hospital treatment so it was a matter of washing hands to apply a dressing, peeling off our filthy wet clothes before we could even think about sitting in a hospital with a great sense of urgency and whilst trying to calm a distressed child. Anyway, he's fine now and they were able to glue it which I've never seen before and was rather magical, it sort of sucked the wound closed.
DD was entranced. She had asked if she could watch them make ds better and I'd said only if she was very good and quiet. (she never stops talking) She considered this for a moment and said that she would like to say something to the nurse. In the end she said nothing just loving watching them take obs etc. She made up for it in the waiting room later holding forth loudly telling everyone they were in a spaceship and she was taking them to planet moon.

Anyway, that was our day!

MatthewBellamysMuse · 04/05/2009 18:59

OMG Berrie! Does your family have shares in your local A&E?
Poor DS, hope he's not too distressed.

OP posts:
Berrie · 04/05/2009 19:01

Yep we're keeping them busy!

He's absolutly fine. He didn't make a fuss at all. I was quite proud of him.

oggsfrog · 05/05/2009 07:00

Morning

Poor ds Berrie. (Do you have your own special seats reserved at A&E?

Lyra, did dp and boys make it back safely?

Working today.

Berrie · 05/05/2009 07:15

Morning.

I'm on squirrel babysitting duty some time this week. The neighbours are looking ater it since it was brought in having fallen out of a nest. It needs keeping warm and milk. They say the fleas are gone...It is quite cute, a ratty body with monkey legs...but still.

Berrie · 05/05/2009 11:39

Hellooo...ellooo...ellooo....eloo..oo

MatthewBellamysMuse · 05/05/2009 16:38

Hello!
Yes, they were all alive when I got home. Today I was supposed to be doing loads of washing and getting the bedroom ready for our wardrobes to be started tomorrow but I read my book instead. . Looks like I've got a busy evening ahead...
