You must have been at some point in your life Berrie, or were you born adult sized?

MatthewBellamysMuse · 29/04/2009 11:56

I feel it's coming off much faster this time. Must be the exercise.
I'm going out tonight and it's a bring-a-bottle kind of thing. What should I take? I'm not allowed wine. And do you know, having not had any for over a week, I don't particularly want it either. My old wine guzzling habits were just that, a habit.

I'm off for a walk in the sunshine.

Lyra, what do your boys eat when they come home from school. Ds always says he's reeeeeaaaaly hungry and no snack seems to satisfy him.

I've made them some flapjack...not a morsel has passed my lips...agony!

Berrie · 29/04/2009 14:20

Just ate a date..but spat half of it out...

MatthewBellamysMuse · 29/04/2009 14:23

Berrie! Dates are evil!
If I remember I take some bananas to school with me at pick-up time. Or maybe a club bar. Something high-energy to keep them going. Usually I forget and have to put up with the whingeing.

OP posts:
Berrie · 29/04/2009 15:33

He won't eat banana. He'd eat it if he really was as hungry as he says...

oggsfrog · 29/04/2009 16:27

Dd is always starving too.

If I've baked fresh bread that day I take her a hunk of that. Sometinmes I'll take a sandwich (marmite or nutella), or a small milky way.
The only fruit she would eat at that time of day would be raspberries or strawberries. She doesn't like bananas.

She's still poorly, with a temp, headache, sore throat and feeling sick. She keeps sicking up bile as there is nothing in her tummy. She tried some tinned mandarins (absolutely the only thing I culd tempt her with) but threw them up.

Dh is going to go to the shops when he gets home from working and will get her some vanilla ice cream and some lemonade. I don't care what she eats as long as she can keep it down, and the sugary lemonade will help re-hydrate her.

She's currently lying on the settee watchig Turner and Hooch, while I try and knit a small sock.

Berrie · 29/04/2009 17:08

Oh dear that is nasty...poor, poor dd.

I'm trying to fill them up with cups of tea tonight! Ds's teeth have gone rotten from the amount of fruit he eats. It's the only thing we can think of as he doesn't do sweets or sugary drinks very often at all and I brush them really well.

I'm going to have to have a chat with them because the incessant 'I'm hungry' in a whiney voice is driving me mad.

My tardis is looking a little....wonky...holey?

MatthewBellamysMuse · 29/04/2009 17:17

Hope she's better soon. She must feel horrible.
Berrie, does DS need fillings? DS1 had one recently and I was horrified. Luckily it's white so it doesn't show. We're making more of an effort with the brushing now.

I'm Smug Mummy today. I went to Truro with DS for lunch. Afterwards, we went into the Farmers' Market and he had the choice of cake or banana (two stalls next to each other). The divine cherub loudly opted for the banana. Next time he'll obviously scream the place down for chocolate cake, but sometimes they come up trumps.

I see you guys have all been knitting again. DH has dumped off more of my stuff, which does include a jumper I started pre-DS. I half want to pick it up again, but half don't as it's a size 12. Like Lyra is now.

But onwards. We have fresh asparagus, salmon and salad for dinner. OK, white wine is cheating, but anyway.....

oggsfrog · 29/04/2009 17:40

Thanks for the lucozade Lyra.

Berrie could you try setting them aside a box each filled with things that they can help themselves to when they are hungry?

Discuss acceptable things like fruit, small amount of dried fruit, crackers, plain biscuits etc and then when they are hungry they just help themselves.

I read about it here on mn a few years ago (can't remember who did it possibly greensleeves). I did try it with dd when she was younger.

Now she will make herself cheese and crackers if she is hungry or have a slice of dry bread.

Poor love has taken herself to bed .
I said that it might be best if she slept with me, and dh had her bed tonight, then if she needs me I don't have to get up.

I made the beds up, swapping pillows etc and went to make dh a cup of tea.
When I went back to her she'd put herself in our bed and was asleep.

Half of her school is off sick and when I spoke to the teacher earlier she said she felt rotten too.

Berrie · 29/04/2009 17:41

They are his front teeth...the dentist does not seem bothered at all because they will fall out soon. It's annoying because if the front ones have decay then some molars might get it next and I don't know what to do differently except for the fruit...

I nearly fainted on getting up just then. I need cake! We've just had a lovely meal of pork, roasted courgette, pepper and aubergine and green beans too.

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 29/04/2009 17:41

Yuck. I don't know what's going on with my tastebuds. I just bought some diet coke for the first time in around 10 days, and it suddenly tastes really really sweet to the point of yucky.

oggsfrog · 29/04/2009 17:43

Have a nice evening Zeb

Berrie · 29/04/2009 17:47

Mmmm I think they'd just eat the lot Oggs.

Is this low blood sugar part of it 'cause I feel ill! My body is telling me I need a nice bowl of cornflakes with lots of sugar on. Tell me how my body is now burning fat or something because I have a muffin top that doesn't even need a waist band to make it bulge anymore...

Berrie · 29/04/2009 17:48

Yes Zeb...don't get too squiffy...actually, get as squiffy as you want.

Berrie · 29/04/2009 17:49

Don't tell me that my body can't be doing it because of the slab of brie and the half date...

oggsfrog · 29/04/2009 17:51

Where are you up to with the Tardis Berrie? The holes are probably from the yarn overs.

Berrie · 29/04/2009 17:55

I've done 18 rows...it's looks a bit funny.

Zeb what is your jumper like?

Berrie · 29/04/2009 17:56

Dh has just given me a lecture on how it's been proven that ketosis is not the reason Atkins works it's because the food is so awful you don't feel hungry...

oggsfrog · 29/04/2009 17:57

The Brie isn't too bad, it's cheese and cheese is protein with little carb value.

The date on the other hand, wheeee, pure sugar. Only half a date shouldn't really set you back as long as you have been good otherwise.

What do you drink in your tea and coffee?

Berrie · 29/04/2009 17:57

I'll take a pic for you...

oggsfrog · 29/04/2009 18:00

You'll take a picture of what you have in your tea and coffee?

Berrie · 29/04/2009 18:02

no you daft bat my knitting
