Number 13?

I don't want to be a full-time journalist again either. If I'm ever going to work full time again I need a career change.

Do you still have your super-strong painkillers Berrie? When is your doc referring you?

OP posts:
Berrie · 29/04/2009 09:30

Just having scrambled egg and bacon...bleurgh...I want some musli

MatthewBellamysMuse · 29/04/2009 09:31

When my back was bad I found a combination of co-dydramol an diclofenac did the trick.

OP posts:
Berrie · 29/04/2009 09:31

I've had the super strong ones...they are not super strong enough...have also had paracaetamol on diclofenac

oggsfrog · 29/04/2009 09:31

She didn't hunt in the high heels Lyra - she chucked them back through the open window .

Is Midnight Sun going to be more like the first ones?

Zeb, dd is still off; snuffly but brighter than yesterday. I'm going to let her watch The Golden Compass today to keep her occupied.

Breakfast... left over curyy. Yummy.
Zeb you could have curry without the naan and rice, grilled salmon and asparagus with salad, grilled chops, steak and salad.
What will you be drinking?

MatthewBellamysMuse · 29/04/2009 09:32

How can you say bleurgh at scrambled egg and bacon? Yum.

OP posts:
Berrie · 29/04/2009 09:33

I'm not a huge egg fan actually...like 'em in cake though!

MatthewBellamysMuse · 29/04/2009 09:34

Oggs, Midnight Sun is Twilight written from Edwards' POV.

OP posts:
Berrie · 29/04/2009 09:35

I ate a whole wedge of brie yesterday bet I'm not supposed to do that.

MatthewBellamysMuse · 29/04/2009 09:46

That may have been a little excessive.
Right, I'm off to do my exercise.

OP posts:
oggsfrog · 29/04/2009 10:01

I know Lyra, but is the writing style consistent with the first three? Is it the proper Edward?

Have fun with the builder. In a purely assistantish way of course

oggsfrog · 29/04/2009 10:22

Oh, sorry, you're not with the builder today?

MatthewBellamysMuse · 29/04/2009 10:23

He's not here today, won't be till Tuesday. I'm working alone.
I'd say Midnight Sun comes across like it was written at the same time as Twilight, IYSWIM.

Thank you for the tips - salmon and asparagus it is. With a glass of white wine...or two.

I think we need to know more about Lyra's builder. Is this what has prompted this sudden desire for a career change?

Berrie · 29/04/2009 10:42

I undid those 4 stitches Oggs and knitted them as I should. The nexr roiw was knit and it was hard because of the odd stitches along the row. i'm on to a knitty purly one now so here's hoping I do it right this time!

MatthewBellamysMuse · 29/04/2009 10:42

Ladies, please, it's not like that I'm a married woman (well, as good as).
And Zeb, not a drop of wine must pass your lips. It's chock-full of carbs. Spirits with low-cal mixers only

OP posts:
Berrie · 29/04/2009 10:43

She's very good at all the diy though isn't she. i thin k she should come round here and practice. i'll make her as much bacon and eggs as she wants!

oggsfrog · 29/04/2009 10:47

So you managed to tink them okay Berrie? Keep me updated as to progress.

Did you see I found you on Rav?

Berrie · 29/04/2009 11:03

No I didn't tink I took them off the needle and pulled the wool.

I was just getting excited as I did a few more rows and the pattern was coming but I've just realised I've got 2 more stitches so it won't work will it...think I should start again but I just don't know where I get these new stitches from!
Not looked on Ravelry yet.

oggsfrog · 29/04/2009 11:10

The new stitches are probably caused by you doing a yo (yarn over). You know when you are about to do a purl stitch you transfer the yarn from the back of the work, between the needles to the front? Well if you do that when you are about to knit (rather than purl) then you create a yarn over which makes an extra stitch (and also a small hole in the work).

Have a look at a few of the vids on the site I linked to to make sure you are purling correctly. You must remember to move the yarn between the needles (either forward or backward depending on whether you are knitting or purling).

Berrie · 29/04/2009 11:26

Well, I purled 2 stitches together twice so that I am back to 38 stitches... Don't know what this will look like but it seemed to be a good idea at the time!

MatthewBellamysMuse · 29/04/2009 11:28

I'm feeling quite faint now. Lots of exercise and no food. Must. Eat. Something.
The good news is I am now comfortably wearing a pair of size 12 cropped jeans. Yay!

OP posts:
oggsfrog · 29/04/2009 11:41

Ooh. Size 12. Barbie doll size .

Berrie · 29/04/2009 11:44

I'm still 3lb's lighter (sorry Oggs - got back on the scales) Dh lost only 1/2 lb - tee hee.
Well done Lyra - I've never been a size 12.
