I think I'll he'll be alright at least until dd starts school next year.
The chicken legs sound good. Can I have sugar free gum because I am doing.

Berrie · 28/04/2009 12:20

He's not off work. He's taken my car as it's automatic and he drives one handed. I was soooo worried last night as he was late home because of an accident but I thought it was his accident as he couldn't drive properly. Apparently he drives better one handed than I do two handed...

MatthewBellamysMuse · 28/04/2009 12:22

Gum's ok in moderation. You're supposed to limit your sweetener intake but I can't remember why.

oggsfrog · 28/04/2009 12:24

Check the carb content on the gum. Some are quite high regardless.

i can haz new profile...

MatthewBellamysMuse · 28/04/2009 12:29

I don't know if this is much use. They're serialising Monica Seles book in the Sunday Times, and she's quite interesting on her attitude to food and how she changed it. Basically she ballooned after she got stabbed by the lunatic, which began a really bad relationship with food. I actually found it worth reading.

My own 'fighting weight' in my early-mid twenties was just around 9 stone 3, which I was more or less happy with. These days, I'm just aiming to get under 10 and see what happens. However, my food problems are related to depression - I comfort eat rubbish, which is why I've shot up even more recently. But now I'm feeling happier and more settled, I feel ready to sort this out with both a diet and the gym. But I agree with Monica that it's actually about changing mt attitude than simply just dieting. Often easier said than done, but I guess it's worth a shot.

Good luck to us all.

oggsfrog · 28/04/2009 12:52

That's the spirit

I read that article on Sat too and it fits in with what I'm trying to do.

I don't actually know what my 'fighting weight' is, as since I was 18 I have fluctuated between 7st 10lbs (way, way, way, too thin) and 14st 10lbs (way, way, way too fat).
Unfortunately at the moment I'm nearer the higher one.

I would like to get to 1st and see what I feel like then

oggsfrog · 28/04/2009 12:54

D'oh! 11st

Berrie · 28/04/2009 13:12

11 stone...I can just about remeber that!

Berrie · 28/04/2009 13:12

4 rows done Oggs!

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 28/04/2009 13:13

1 stone would be a little extreme. It brings new meaning to size zero.

I want to get rid of my spare tyres, bingo wings and thunder thighs. Not to mention the additional chin. None of this is attractive. But having just had lunch - leftover fish from yesterday with salad, feta (is that allowed?), and the remains of the mango salsa (I know...). I actually paused and thought about what I was eating - taste, texture etc. I haven't eaten that slowly in a long time - DH always ate like he was in a race. I ended up eating half of what was on my plate and felt fine.

Monica's most meaningful line to me was about pizza or something - that you didn't need to swallow it whole as if it were the last one you'd ever eat. There will be other pizzas, or ice cream or whatever.

Berrie · 28/04/2009 13:20

Berrie bites into the end of the brie...

Berrie · 28/04/2009 13:21

Will the bingo wings ever go do you think Zeb? I reckon they'll flap there however thin I get...

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 28/04/2009 13:42

Weights love. It's the only answer.

oggsfrog · 28/04/2009 13:50

Long sleeves.

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 28/04/2009 13:57

My arms are so fat at the moment, they don't fit properly in my shirts.

Berrie · 28/04/2009 14:28

I bought this at the weekend for the very purpose

Berrie · 28/04/2009 14:29

Though as it's an 18 it's a little bit too small

oggsfrog · 28/04/2009 14:35

I have the same problem with jeans. I only have one pair of jeans/trousers that fit... and they need washing. I will be unale to go out into the world until they are dry.

Paul Mck has only 4 rules in his weight loss plan...

  1. Eat whenever you are hungry
2.Eat what you want, not what you think you should
  1. Eat consciously and enjoy every mouthful

I did really well with these, but my downfall is the 4th...

4.Stop when you think you are full...

Berrie · 28/04/2009 14:51

Yeah - it takes quite a few Cadbury's creme eggs, muffins, flapjacks, bowls of ice cream, packets of hobnobs to feel full.

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 28/04/2009 15:21

And bagels and jaffa cakes.

Nice top. Maybe I should visit Dotty Ps.

MatthewBellamysMuse · 28/04/2009 16:08

I like that top too.
As Zeb said, weights are the only way to be rid of the wings.
