VoodooWithBellsOn · 22/04/2009 14:45

aaaargh I am sick of effing nursery place hunting

now I have a short list of 3 one of which told me to come now to fill in a form for the last place but I can't as kids are napping GRRRRRRRRRRRRR

think I will home-school. Far less stress!

VoodooWithBellsOn · 22/04/2009 14:50

I was stressed enough this morning trying to bribe dd to do a urine sample for the doctors she will not pee on demand the little blighter.
Except she did...when I produced a large lollipop out of the cupboard.
then we went to a playgroup that has reopened in a new built church hall - the floor was filthy. ds crawled around happy as larry. I felt very itchy.

VoodooWithBellsOn · 22/04/2009 14:51

dd crying when I left her at Nursery this am.

OP posts:
Jennster · 23/04/2009 11:12

Took the dc to nursery this morning, but got there a little later than usual. Turns out the older children were going swimming. Dd got really upset because she wants to go too but they don't have enough places. We have to wait until September. It broke my heart because it's our fault she didn't get put on the list because we didn't read the newsletter properly. Ds was screaming as I left (which he never does for dh) and there was me trying to hold back tears. Anyway I went swimming too and found they were at the same pool. I'm crying thinking about it now. I'd take her myself but can't take one without the other. Weekends at the pool are a nightmare. Really busy.

Macdog · 23/04/2009 12:00

Ah Jennster, that's just horrible.

dd had perked up about 30seconds after I left her

VoodooWithBellsOn · 23/04/2009 12:09

poor Jenn don't worry can you take them both swimming when your dh can go too?

not heard anything from last viewers. think they hated our poor house too.

got dd a nursery place! but its afternoons..
have a couple more lined up am going to try and hornswaggle her a morning place somewhere
maybe a bit closer too. (place I do have is 21/2 miles away driving through very busy traffic)

dd driving me bonkers being afraid of butterflies today for some reason
we have lots of butterflies in the garden this year. must get a book to identify them. there are three types Ive spotted that Ive never seen before. I will try and google them now..

VoodooWithBellsOn · 23/04/2009 12:16

Orange tip male was the first one

VoodooWithBellsOn · 23/04/2009 12:26

oh the other one I think was a small tortoishell, quite common.
Have also identiefied the main birds chomping my nuts are coal tits, 2 robins, blue tits, a sparrow, a starling, a blackbird and something else a bit sparrow link but more finchy, to be classified... and some yellow ones I havent seen for a while.
we had mistle thrushes last year but not seen them this year, or my 2 squirrels.

VoodooWithBellsOn · 23/04/2009 12:28

sniggering at dd calling trafford 'Blue America'

mummy can we go shopping in Blue America?

think its because the domes are blue

VoodooWithBellsOn · 23/04/2009 12:30

macdog she'll be fine.

my mum (fountain of knowledge and crap..)
says to leave promptly after a quick goodbye, and to arrive early to collect. chile will feel secure faster. (allegedly)

what do y'all think of the budget? I dont know the full ins and outs but the car scrap thing sounds ok, if a little full of caveats..

VoodooWithBellsOn · 23/04/2009 12:31

chile/child
tomay-to /tomato

VoodooWithBellsOn · 23/04/2009 12:32

now why dont you all have a go at writing a poem for the £1000 competition? up to 160 words, no more than 20 lines. Any subject.
Have a go. Surprise yourself. Needs to be done by end May ideally.

VoodooWithBellsOn · 23/04/2009 12:33

My entry is called 'The Devil is A Cowboy?'

yes really
more sniggering at my own ridiculousness

VoodooWithBellsOn · 23/04/2009 12:34

I love a bit of a snigger.

VoodooWithBellsOn · 23/04/2009 12:35

wow this is the 10th message in a row Ive written to myself!
think anyone else has beaten that on our threads?
doubt it!

VoodooTheUnlikely · 23/04/2009 12:39

new moniker.

Jennster · 23/04/2009 16:47

Hey peeps

Been out to a friends for lunch, had another blub about how upset dd was at not swimming, and we now have hot water in the house. Should be finished tomorrow, when I can happily go into labour. Just have to convince dh to start 'helping' me induce the baby. I've just picked up the freecycle carpet to go under the birth pool. We now need to move the very very heavy kitchen table into the dining room, and move the very light outdoor table into the kichen. That way Dh can move the table by himself when it's time to blow up the birth pool.

Trying to work out if I can take dd swimming tomorrow without ds noticing she isn't at nursery. Might just have to brave the weekend rush and take both of them.

Macdog · 23/04/2009 16:49

Like the new name!

She was fine - i didn't hang around, just said 'bye' and left.
She settled really quickly.

So we've been swimming as a family today - dh came too
he was most impressed with his waterbub

Then we went to Ardrossan to watch the Arran ferry leaving. Planning a day-trip there soon. dd will LOVE being on the big boat. Also planning to go on the Waverley with her too

I'm a Macseadog at heart!

I loved watching birds in the garden, but due to influx of nasty furry things I have removed my feeders
