Well done Macpup! We ended up going swimming on Saturday afternoon. DD was so excited bless her, and when she found she could touch the bottom and bounce, well! Ds wasn't so keen, but did eventually stop crying.

VoodooWithBellsOn · 03/04/2009 13:11

weve just joined lovefilm, not got round to watching the first one yet, so busy this week. Its called Little Children .
we watched American Gangster last night, brilliant.
did controlled crying with ds last night, he cried at 7pm when he went to bed, settled after 10mins

at 10pm when we came up he cried for 5 mins (Inormally wouldve bf him, but didnt)

at 130am he cried for 22 mins, I held my nerve, normally Id have fed him for 20mins

he slept through till 830am. He was fine!
I have been mollycoddling him terribly, was much more controlled with dd.
A few nights of this and he'll be back to sleeping through, thank goodness. Now Im back at work I cant be feeding him every few hours through the night.

VoodooWithBellsOn · 03/04/2009 13:14

my poor sis has mastitis! really badly.
Doc gave her antibiotics on monday, theyve had no effect

she rang them today in tears, got through at 910am they said sorry no appointments, call back on mon!

I just happened to phone her at that point she was exhausted and didnt know where to turn, was going to switch to bottle feeding
I got her to ring her midwife and beg for help (her MW is also useless, and her HV has never even been round to see her)
the MW fixed it with the doc and now she has an appt at 410pm today

for all they knew the baby might be starved! and they were happy to leave it till monday! beggers belief.

VoodooWithBellsOn · 03/04/2009 13:16

well done to the little water baby macpup!!

VoodooWithBellsOn · 03/04/2009 13:18

theres still no support for BF mums in this bloody country.

VoodooWithBellsOn · 03/04/2009 13:18

these are rather cute, I must say.

worley · 03/04/2009 15:04

it is lovefilm but its done through tescos somehow, can look up voucher for you, at work tonight so will search for it in a bit and if i cant see where i put it will find it on sunday, then off to butlins on monday.
just put a bet on the grand national there were 2 i was def going to out 50p each way on then there was one called stan and as it was my great uncle stan whose funeral i went to on tues i put 50p each way on him and put 50p each way on fundamentalist, even though he has odds of 150/1, so if he is placed will get £64 back i think?

had to give my mums hoover back to her, as mine broken and have just been sweeping up as got laminate, its a goldtop dyson and i cant believe how much muck was still on the flooe even after sweeping, i loved it, have hooveder all the picture rails using the brush attachment thing and even hoovered the kitchen ceiling as it has that really pointy artex crap and it gathers loads of cobwebs, so hoovered it all! it was hard work hoovering the ceiling!lol

Macdog · 03/04/2009 16:28

Poor VoodooSis .
The level of support for bf seems to be a bit all or nothing - no middle ground.
I was glad I had MN

dd off to PIL for weekend

Jennster · 03/04/2009 20:58

Oh dear Voodoosis. Tell her not to stop feeding on the side she has the mastitis on. That will aggravate the problem. HERE

Macdog · 04/04/2009 09:16

Watched "the mist" last night - possibly the most profoundly sad ending to a film I've ever seen

OP posts:
VoodooWithBellsOn · 04/04/2009 15:06

she's switched to bottles

anyway, just trying not to really mention it as dont want her to feel in any way that she has failed, the reality is that you do whats best for you. Just feel sad that she didnt get help when she needed it really. REALLY WANT TO MOVE TO BE NEAR MY FAMILY.

ok rant over. Deep breath.
work is fine. Had 2nd shift last night, some people seem really glad to have me back!

we are off to pizza hut in a mo for dhs birthday meal 'Huzzah!'
think I might even put a nice outfit and shoes on....

VoodooWithBellsOn · 04/04/2009 15:09

and now have another irritation of unlimited work do's
the new management think it is amusing to have a work outing once a month and guilt everyone into thinking they should go..

never mind after a 9/10hr shift on a sunday the only thing I want to do is go home and see my babies for the 4minutes before they go to bed!

never mind some of us part timers are part time...and have no spare money for frivolous drinks!

VoodooWithBellsOn · 04/04/2009 15:09

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRGH

have some rage issues today.

VoodooWithBellsOn · 04/04/2009 15:11

ok chill out Voodz, pizza in a short while. zen out on the cheeeeeeeeese toppings maaaan
focus on that fat old stuffed crust yummity yum

I like best.
now off to get ready. bye guys. thanks for listening to my wurblings.

worley · 04/04/2009 20:20

trying to bank my grand national winnings and now they (coral) are syaing there was a problem with the account and they couldnt verify i am who i am so cancelled my bet, they didnt do that last year, so i have to ring them up to complain now, and they didnt do it till last night when i was at work so only just checked my emails to see they cancelled it. my brother put £20 each way on the winner so he's in the money,

i will just say that this is the only race we ever put a bet on, i dont normally go betting on horses!

drop dog off at kennels in the morning and then start packing for butlins on monday

Jennster · 05/04/2009 07:25

Worley [cross] for you re Coral.

Voodoo, I'm so sorry to hear about your sis. I know what you mean about keeping your mouth shut.

You'll never guess what happened last night. My sister and her fella were over and we were talking about music, and she mentioned the Cello Concerto that was played in ER. I spent ages Googling various key words including the episode name and all that and couldn't find who it was by. Anyway my sister does a search and says "good old Mumsnet". She doesn't have children, but has heard me talk about it loads of course. "You're kidding?" say I "You haven't found the answer on there have you?" and yes she had. The Google engine came up with the mumsnet link that no other than our good old Macdog answered. I couldn't beleive it and they couldn't beleive it when I said I knew Macdog, told them the part of the country where she lives, had met her and could show her a picture of her!

Macdog · 05/04/2009 10:01

My fame spreads!!!

So sorry to hear Voodoosis has gone to bottles, keep supporting her Voods. She must be having a hell of a time.

Sorry to hear about Bookie fuck-up Worley. Hope some good comes of it.

(I backed the second horse e/w )

VoodooWithBellsOn · 06/04/2009 13:45

so that's it. another period of bf over. feel really sad! How much it hurt and I loathed it at the start, you eventually miss it.
