TheCosmicClock · 17/03/2009 11:45

brum!

Jennster · 17/03/2009 22:07

Was lovely seeing Macdog yesterday. Her DD was delightful. My dd was a little sod. I am a grumpy old witch. 3 1/2 more weeks left at work. My shop closed on Friday and I have my last day there tomorrow, boxing stuff up etc. Very sad.

Jennster · 17/03/2009 22:17

Got horrible back ache.

Had to have a growth scan on Friday because fundal height had only gone up 1cm in 3 weeks and was 5cm behind the norm and was off the chart. Scan showed me on the 50th centile so nothing to worry about. It did show how low the head was which might explain why I'm in so much pain and waddling.

TheCosmicClock · 18/03/2009 16:50

poor Jenn!!

your body is an expert now at babying

why is your shop closing? is it moving premises? (sorry if youve explained this previously, I obv don't listen!)

just had a great afternoon on park in sunshine
dd been a little swine last 2 days, really really naughty. Not like her, oh well. She didnt have a pm nap today for first day in her life, so a bit weird..
ds fell asleep before lunch and slept till 2pm then ate, so they are both having an unusual day.

saw baby lambs at the farm, one licked me! so lovely to see spring coming

Jennster · 18/03/2009 17:43

My body is creaking. My sympathies to you voodoo with the broken tailbone. I don't think I'm going to last much longer at work.

Saw Macdog again today by chance so had a quick natter and sent her in the direction of icecream.

My shop is closing for good. I'm about this week, next week is holiday, then my last 2 weeks before I start maternity leave is at a branch in Blackpool where they have 80 Methadone addicts. I'm seriously considering only working 1 day a week and looking after the children myself.

Jennster · 18/03/2009 21:13

Co-codamol having very little effect on my back.

Jennster · 18/03/2009 21:18

and I can't take any more for over an hour.

Jennster · 19/03/2009 08:19

Goodmorning

I can walk today (ended up crawling last night with my back), I'm wearing a short sleeved blouse, the sun is shining and have just noticed my butter is best before a week after I'm due

I didn't take any more co-codamol, thinking if I needed some in the night I would might be overdosing, and ended up not needing to.

TheCosmicClock · 19/03/2009 14:15

oh cocodamol you lovely drug

dd drew on (cream) leather sofa with biro

luckily baby wipes got it off but I was hopping mad

she also opened the beanbag twice to play with bits and ate one in front of me
she is a holy terror, all of a sudden she cant be trusted anywhere by herself
we went to a new playgroup today thank god I took dd a spare pair troosies as they had a water tank and she played 'pouring' for 45 mins and got completely drenched

at singing time ds trumped so eye-wateringly badly one woman commented he looked so angelic, how could he smell so bad!

TheCosmicClock · 19/03/2009 14:17

re; dry skin on hands...jen is there anyhting better than e45 which isnt oilatum?

my hands are dreadful.

my coccyx still hurts to sit on 8mths on. Cant believe ds 8mths already, crawling all over the show.

TheCosmicClock · 19/03/2009 14:20

got really near tears last night/this morning
I really am shot.
do I just let him cry? he would yell at top of his lungs for an hour I reckon, so we'd all be awake anyway?

worley · 19/03/2009 15:26

ds2 has been waking up mega early, it was 5.20am yesterday, and 6.15 this morning, and stands there saying "come on mummy, nate hungry, up we get" he stands and rubs hi belly! if i wasnt still trying to sleep it would be cute.

i had a co-codamol addiction, according to my gp, as i took it every day when i had a headache and when i went to go see him, he said if i put up with the headaches and stop taking co-codamol they would stop, which they did and they gave me mega constipation when i took to many after havine ds1. oh my god, i never knew anything like it!!![blusk]

worley · 19/03/2009 15:30

i cleared my nans/grandads old green house out and found some old bowles and cake stands, no one else wanted them so itook them home and cleaned them up and it turns out they are actually wedgwood! ha! have just been baking fairy cakes for every one so they are standing on them now. have also dug up nearly all my nannies shade garden as she had hundreds of bluebells, hyacinths, tulips and snow drops. put them in my shady side where nothing grows except for my blubells, am very happy, will think of my nan every time they all flower.

i have a pain in my kidney, it kjeeps coming and going, i am paranoi i have a kidney stone and panicking i will have to go in to work for an xray, will be mortified. i am such a hyperchondriac

worley · 19/03/2009 16:19

ds1 got his school eport today, 2 A's, 12 B's and 1 C. very please he is now sitting here and reading the bible, is this normal for a 10 year old? my dad says he gets it from his great grandad who was a methodist lay preacher, but he has been very anti god at school so very strange he now comes home and reads the bible every day!

(did any one else get one of those liitle red bibles at school? i got given one in my first year at middle when i was in (the now yr 5)first year.)thats what he is reading

Jennster · 19/03/2009 19:31

Worley a Gideon's Bible? Yes we got them at school. You can get analgesic induced headaches. Loads of people end up with them. You know if you like Rhubarb, it grows really well in a shady area. Just plonk a load of manure on it.

Voodoo if he's teething then Ashton and Parsons teething powders are brilliant.

worley · 19/03/2009 21:39

i didnt think of putting rhubarb in, thats a good idea, i love it, and it grows quite big with its leaves! that will fill a corner in. we have quite nice sandy soil, does it like that? im going to search the garden centre for some tomorrow now, when i am ds's free. going to lunch with an old uni friendm ds1 at school and my mum will have ds2 for me, we go here its lovely. if its sunny we sit outside looking over the water.

just ordered ds1 some new audio cds to listen to, got him the carpet (i think) by terry pratchett and the first disc world.

just ate a fondant fancy [mmmm face]

worley · 19/03/2009 21:43

yes a gideons bible, does every one get them?
it seems only yesterday i got given mine and now i cant believe ds1 has got one. i feel old

hope the macdoggies are having a good time.

Jennster · 19/03/2009 22:07

Fatsia Japonica is another good shade plant. It's evergreen too. Rhubarb can be grown from seed very quickly, but it's not pickable for a few years. I saw some today about a year old for £2.50 a pot. No idea if sandy soil is ok. If you put enough manure into the ground it should be ok.

That pub looks nice, but only one photo of the water you were talking about. If it's that beautiful they should make more of it!

Mmmm I love French Fancies.

Jennster · 19/03/2009 22:10

Oh and Hostas, sweet box (smells beautiful and evergreen), Hellebores and Alchemilla Mollis. AM is beautiful when there is a drop of water resting on the leaf. Oh and Vincas, Mahonia and climbing hydrangea.

Can you tell I've had a shady garden?

worley · 19/03/2009 22:20

i have 2 different vincas, they spread like wild fire! i have started to pull some of it up now. it grows all along the edge of my drive way and up the side of the fence, i have tried lots of hostas but the b**y slugs keep eating them, i put them in pots and put shells on top and they still manage to eat them, they will strip it bare over night. i have a couple of big ferns and a caster oil plant which loves the front garden, its taller than me now.
i want a gunnera (? spelling) for the back garden, they get so big and i have so much cargen to fill up. last year i put a buddlia and a mallow in to try and cover some of the fence up a bit, but it will be a few more years before it doesnt look so sparse. i have a eucolyptus (?spelling) tree in the back i put in, as my neighbour looks straight in to our back garden so hopefully as its ever green it will stop them looking right in and give us a bit of privacy maybe.

im going to go look up those other plants now, thankyou

Jennster · 19/03/2009 22:20

I use this sight a lot as a quick reference. They're a bit expensive but I love the sight to browse

Jennster · 19/03/2009 22:26

Fuschia, buddleia and get better flowers if you hack them right back every year. They STILL come back vigourous.

The climbing hydrangea is brill for north facing walls with lovely white flowers. Clematis Montana too.

I'm thinking of the evergreen stuff with berries that birds love. Berberis and Cotoneaster? They can easily be trained against a wall, but are thorny so bad for footballs and burglars.

TheCosmicClock · 20/03/2009 14:36

my hostas are slug food had 2 lovely ones in pots my mum gave me. slugs adored them.

Jenn if you were alive in 17-1800s you'd be suspected as a witch with all that plant knowledge! and medicines!!

lol worley - early mornings. My dd is the same. mummy Im very very hungry always guilts me straight into the shower!
