Well done your dd, both for the lasagne and the poos of course. Isn't it amazing how life revolves so much around poos? We are still commenting poos daily here. Ds is very proud of his ahem output

Awwwwww I miss drinking cuppas with my friends in Exeter.

Well, our offer has been accepted, and we have a date to exchange (beginning of March). We'll hear tomorrow if our mortgage application was successful... But apparently someone else has been sniffing around the vendors, so we're a bit afraid of being gazumped before it all goes through...

I heart John Stewart "I have shit to do!"

Penthesileia · 05/02/2009 21:00

I was explaining to friend no.2 that basically, once you have a baby, you become a poo-obsessive...

Penthesileia · 05/02/2009 21:02

Presumably BBC iplayer & 4ondemand are only available from UK ip addresses (or whatever - not good at techno stuff...)?

francagoestohollywood · 05/02/2009 21:02

Oh how exciting! Will keep my fingers crossed.

Yes, I can't watch the bbc iplayer. Gosh I miss the bbc so much. I must force dh to get a satellite and point it towards the uk, if that's possible.

I'm finishing revolutionary road hot.

OP posts:
Penthesileia · 05/02/2009 21:04

I am reading Revolutionary Road (having been too weak to resist); it jumped to the top of my pile, as I think I might go and see it next week at baby cinema.

Me too, hot!

Penthesileia · 05/02/2009 21:06

I'm already in awe of how he's setting out the theme of masculine delusion only a few chapters in (his fantasy about how the play should/might've gone; imagining his son's foot in the way when he's digging the path, etc.); and how choice some of his descriptions are - the flecks of gold sawdust on his father's arm.

francagoestohollywood · 05/02/2009 21:09

My local baby cinema only showed movies non vietati iyswim? Which was boring.

OP posts:
francagoestohollywood · 05/02/2009 21:10

Yes, the descriptions are perfect "Frank arranged his face..."

OP posts:
hothell · 05/02/2009 21:11

oh, goodness, off to get it from the libray tomorrow.

still on mansfield park, it needed a tougher editor, 3 pages about whether fanny price should o shouldn't go for dinner at her neighbours'.....and me thinking, on your bike girl, just go, fuck it...

francagoestohollywood · 05/02/2009 21:13

lol hot. I must say I never got into Mansfield Park, despite loving JA

OP posts:
Penthesileia · 05/02/2009 21:13

LOL @ hot. Damn that lazy Jane Austen!

Our baby cinema shows everything! I saw Waltz with Bashir and Changeling, for instance: not really soft fare, really. I kept on covering DD's ears... Not that I think she noticed...

Penthesileia · 05/02/2009 21:14

And turning her away from the screen so she wouldn't see nasty images...

hothell · 05/02/2009 21:15

have you read mpark penthe?

francagoestohollywood · 05/02/2009 21:18

I only went once with dd and watched Bride and Prejudice

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 05/02/2009 21:20

LOL at poo obsission, it is so true though! and we'll start weaning soon, so that'll be a whole new thing...

yes, tired, thanks, had some people over to buy a cot we bought for DS and never even open til last week, as we got given one (like 5th hand) so we kept the new one at PILs but obviously we never go there... they've just left...

fingers crosse Penthe, we were gazumped just before we got this house (actually, good too as we ended up in better area and bigger house, but we lost money, just went to Yorks for xmas all happy we'd got the house, came back and found out a cash buyer snatched it! (estate agent's friends me thinks)

BS - hope you're re-adjusting to new life...

Pippi - how's DD2?

Franca - how's DS? we tell DS to think of being al mare with his cousing while I stroke his hair (he loves both mare and his cousin).

Sputnik - are you better?

must really get reading then...

francagoestohollywood · 05/02/2009 21:28

Sunflower thanks for asking, he had no problems tonight. We'll see how the night goes though. When are you starting weaning? Do you blw or puree? Or follow the Italian way with all those brodi vegetali?

OP posts:
hothell · 05/02/2009 21:29

Hi Sun, we started weaning dd, it is lovely, but it really shows how fast it goes with 2nd child.

Off the net guys, see you later.
