Welcome, ciao, hello

Those slippers don't look too feminine either... [vom]

Night night, franca!

I wasn't laughing at your sister needing people, btw, Sunflower. Rather (in a sort of understanding way) at her getting more fashionable in Paris, IYSWIM.

Ok. Off to read myself.

Notte.

Tricolore Theatre Company was set up by professional actress Nadia Ostacchini in October 2007, to promote the work of International playwrights in the UK .

Tricolore Theatre Company's "The Gingerbread Man" (L'Ometto di Pan Pepato), is our first bilingual English / Italian children's play in a new adaptation by published novelist Penny Culliford. In December, we played at The Italian Cultural Institute, the Scalabrini centre, St Peters Catholic Youth Club and Cambridge Italian club. Tricolore are currently accepting bookings for January and February and are especially keen to hear from Italian schools with children from 4-10 years, as well as any Italian communities who would like us to travel to them to perform our show. We are also currently devising workshops to take to schools.

ciao, it's been 3 months since may last confession, oops, wrong thread!

Hello all, had a mare of a few months but back in the land of the living, sort of.

Sputnik, just wondered if you've received my emails as I know there's been probs before? Anyway, I haven't managed to get 3 months off work as i'd hoped but we are coming to Casperia for 5 weeks on the March 11 . I've managed to rent a 'cosy' apartment right in the centre and the scuola materna has said that dd can go for that time too . So, hopefully we can meet up again.

Bucharest · 09/02/2009 10:16

Morning all, just back from scuola elementare iscrizione.....what a larf...lots of people waving their arms around and insisting on going through highlighted lists with the 2 people in charge...I page of the form asking what kind of orario (23, 27 or 30 hrs) and the other all about religione cattolica and vaccinations....

Looked OK, we put down the name of the teacher who is a friend of my friend (not scary old one, a different one) and the names of our 3 kids in a little round robin as you're only allowed to name one on the form....

Going to lie down and eat chocolate to recover now.

PippiCalzelunghe · 09/02/2009 10:38

one night I'm away and hell gets lose.

anyway LOL at sputnik's 'quadro preferito della famiglia italiana' !! even before I opened it I knew which one it was. To be fair, i have got one (wedding present) that 90% of pgini have in their bedroom!

re the houseswap: I want to go to prince edward's island in nova scotia to see anna of green gables! you might be laughing now but I am dead serious!
and di you see that claudio and danilo only want a place in london that is as central and as equipped as theirs...no suburbian shit basically! so no weekend in rome for us I am afraid.

I want to go on the 22feb to the show in islington, BS, HOT, Sunflower come as well and we do massive meet up too.. want to come to? DD loves the gingerbread man story. off to book now.

PippiCalzelunghe · 09/02/2009 10:44

done. booked for the 22nd. if anyone wants to join me maybe we can meet before for a coffe or smthing. might be with dh or not but he's doesn't bite (might snore though ).

PippiCalzelunghe · 09/02/2009 10:46

PS: I really liked 'the wrestler'.

PippiCalzelunghe · 09/02/2009 10:51

Oh and franca well done for going to Paris. do not even contemplate feeling guilty - is only for a couple of days and the dc will love being with the DGP. If I had my mum close by I'd be jetting off here and there and everywhere. I'd be one of those mums who only come into the 'nursery' dressed to the nines to say 'night poppet' before rushing off to the theatre or to a ball while little darling stays behing with the nanny with soundrak at the back 'mammaaaa, mormora la piccinaaaa, tu compri solo profumi per teeeeee...'

hothell · 09/02/2009 10:53

Yes, i would love to come!!!
Micky Rourke new movie? He looks punch drunk that guy an to think i had a poster of him on my wall when i was teenager. I sent you an email guys boasting about having a RL!

PippiCalzelunghe · 09/02/2009 10:56

I kissed MR on the cheek at 15 !!!!

hothell · 09/02/2009 10:56

did you book online or phone?

hothell · 09/02/2009 10:58

you are a celebrity whore!

at 15 the only guy i kissed was a guy called peppino who worked in the benetton shop and all the girls looked at him as a celebrity!

PippiCalzelunghe · 09/02/2009 11:04

LOL hot.

At 15 my only intimate encounter with opposite sex was prob dancing 'through the barricades' with a guy half my height, ugly as hell with tie-dye white jeans who I thoght was the coolest and I loved more than life and who never ever looked at me.

then one night M.R. strolls the corso of pg and.... nothing changed except gaining an authograph and a kiss on the cheek. (Must admit I felt quite a celeb myself)

PippiCalzelunghe · 09/02/2009 11:04

I called the girl and she asked me to send cheque. she'll send tickets.

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 09/02/2009 11:53

morning all,

Pippi, I wanted to take DS to the Islington one, but need to check if DP's working that Sunday, it'd be lovely to do s.thing just me and DS and meet all of you. will check tonight.

I'm in London tomorrow as well, and then probably one day next week as the last few times mum's been here we haven't been (when I work I avoid the centre like the plague, but now quite fancy a stroll down Oxford street and covent garden).. just hope it stops raining...

francagoestohollywood · 09/02/2009 12:30

Hello my dearest expats.
It is sunny here, so I'm in a good mood

Delgirl, hello! I'm happy to hear you are managing some time in Italy

Bucharest, phewwwwwwww. I remember last year how distressed I was by the bureaucracy to iscrivere the dc respectively to nursery school and primary.... I'm that you get to "choose" a teacher, you can't do it here... (unless people more in the know than me did it ).

Hot, lol lol lol at kissing the boy in Benetton . At fifteen I still hadn't kissed anyone apart from the poster of Billy Idol and John taylor . Che sfigata!

Pippi: "mamma mormora la piccina, etc". My grandmother used to sing it and made me cry ! No, I don't feel guilty to leave them, they are very happy to spend 2 days with their nonni (my mum gives them cicche ), but I do feel very anxious. And I'll miss them. But I'll consider this a trip to "monitor" Paris with the idea of taking them in warmer months. I think ds (after his passion for lady oscar) would love to go.

Awwwwww so many activities in London. What a fab city! (dons rose tinted glasses). I'd love to meet up with you! Who knows, maybe in easter

Am also happy because I've just eaten 2 panzerotti di luini, which is one of the few things you should visit milan for. Actually panzerotto is not milanese, but pugliese. So Puglia wins, again!

Rosa · 09/02/2009 12:46

I ate a Fritella con Nutella this am I warmed it in the mircowave as well it was sooo good !
Great news on Paris Franca just you and dh how romantic ( well when he is not working !)
I went to bed last night I kid you not laughing - Mind you seriously most of the places were so posh and obviously owned by rich people why would they want to swap houses when they can stay in a hotel ????
We choose s/C as we have the dc and its easier but when it will be just dh and me then no way amd I washing up !!!

hothell · 09/02/2009 12:48

the terrible thing is that i kissed him but i found it revolting, big tongue down my throat, very freaked out.
trying to book so hopefully see you sunflower as well on sunday

Sputnik · 09/02/2009 12:52

Rosa, you obviously haven't twigged that the secret of getting rich is to not spend any money

francagoestohollywood · 09/02/2009 12:54

Frittella con nutella sounds heavenly!

No, not that romantico, I'm afraid. Apparently he'll have to work a lot on Friday and possibly even thurs night. He has just told me so. I'm not sure whether to be pissed off or just comprensiva, and get romantic with the credit card

Bleah at the tongue. You poor hot!

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 09/02/2009 12:58

miserable here Franca, just wet wet wet got soaked during school run and DP's in earls ct today so have to pick DS up too..... and it's cold, just MISERABLE!!

I'm sure your DS would love Paris, I loved it, I went when I was 9, and my fav must be montmartre, didn't get to go on the Eiffel tower as it was 1989 (sooooooooooo long ago) so bicentennery celebrations and they had closed it as this guy was going to walk on a rope from tower to bridge that night! how incosiderate of him!! also went to Bruges in belgium on that same holiday and my brother and I were just speachless whe we saw a real guillottine which used to be on the square!
