Ciao, hello, welcome!

OP posts:

I don't do presents for DH's side of the family, but he doesn't actually do it himself, he co-opts his sister. Actually the whole present business is really easy as both our families are very small, none of our brothers and sisters have kids. On my side we all tell each other what we want, then throw in a couple of surprises and it's all sorted. We always go to the UK for xmas, ever since the year when MIL gave me a frilly purple apron and tried to poison me with the xmas cake by putting walnuts, which I'm allergic to. NEVER AGAIN.

Me and DH don't do presents for each other

PippiCalzelunghe · 19/11/2008 21:30

sputnik I am sure in a few years dh and I will reach this wise conclusion since one of his present went on ebay, one of mine was returned, one was swapped . it's just that we have only been together 4 years so it's still at that stage.

PippiCalzelunghe · 19/11/2008 21:30

hot I'm free anytime really. early dec perfect. no we are here for xmas. going on the 7th of jan I think.

Sputnik · 19/11/2008 21:56

I have been browsing playmobil on ebay, it's all your fault!

francagoestohollywood · 19/11/2008 22:01

Pippi the playmobil house is beautiful!!!

Hot I saw the bag in a shop here in Milan. I don't feel tempted to buy on line anymore (apart from amazon.co.uk, where I should actually make an order asap), as there are enough temptations in Milan as it is (mani bucate wannabe emoticon).

2 yrs ago dh and I got ourselves a nice lamp for christmas, that solved the problem presents delusion....

I love playmobil. Sadly the dc aren't that interested at the moment . My mum bought dd the bloody cicciobello bua, it was 25% off at upim.

PippiCalzelunghe · 19/11/2008 22:05

sputnik DON'T!!!! It's highly addictive!!!! I want to get everything. My friend is coming here tomorrow morning so we can play with it while the dcs are at school !!!

francagoestohollywood · 19/11/2008 22:07

A friend of mine once made a "fotoromanzo" with playmobils as the main characters

OP posts:
PippiCalzelunghe · 19/11/2008 22:09

I want this lamp - not on the xmas list btw! I wish!

(ryanair are doing an offer whereby the whole ticket is free, even taxes... so it seemes that for three of us was 30 pound, this was before luggage, check in, this and that: total 90! arggghhhh) not bad I guess but not what they say. i wish I could fly proper airlines (if they still exist) but no one flies to pg or udine.

PippiCalzelunghe · 19/11/2008 22:15

at the fotoromanzo!

francagoestohollywood · 19/11/2008 22:16

Wow it is beautiful!

PippiCalzelunghe · 19/11/2008 22:24

PippiCalzelunghe · 19/11/2008 22:26

off to bed. notte to you all, especially to you rosa, fingers crossed.

francagoestohollywood · 19/11/2008 22:29

It's gorgeous, isn't it. (mind you I once spent a few day in the mountains and my bedroom window looked onto a waterfall, the first night I didn't sleep at all as the noise of the water made me pee every 10 mins!)

Have to go to bed, tomorrow early rise (bloody Italian schools starting at 8.30)

Sputnik · 19/11/2008 22:35

Oh wow, another Frank Lloyd Wright enthusiast.
I would love to visit that house one day. Do they do a playmobil version do you think?

Rosa · 20/11/2008 08:14

Quick post .... MIL insited on getting Dd1 a doll that poos and wees SIL bought it with dh yesterday Eu60.......SO much for my suggestion of Lego ! - It will go in the cupboard I think I have enough trouble with Dd2 and nappies not worrying about a doll- If it cries as well when it wants changing I will put it in the bath so its electric circuit goes !!!!
he seems to have done quite well and said he saw something for me - It will be electronic I am sure as that is his forte so much for me hinting for something sparkly to match my eternity ring I got for having dd1 !! He diddn't even get me some flowers this time round !
Off to second hand shop ( SHHHHHHHHHHH) will put scarf over face incase anybody sees me and reports back to the IL's as need a few tiny wee jumpers/ cardies not paying Eu30 from Iana thank you !
Pippi am impressed at the PLaymobil excellent buy ....Maybe if I suggest that MIL buys a giant rocking horse- or anything else totally useless She might buy some

francagoestohollywood · 20/11/2008 09:06

lol rosa about rocking horse to get playmobil !
My dh didn't get me anything for the birth of our children... he even ate my sandwich while I was in labour .

My dd loves dolls and would be really excited about a doll pissing and pooing. In fact I bought her a little confezione with 4 nappies for dolls, and I'm pretty sure she'll love it .

Sputnik, there must be a collectable playmobil series (you know like those barbies dressed up as real actresses that cost a fortune!) with FLW and Frank Gehry houses...

OP posts:
Sputnik · 20/11/2008 09:26

God those dolls cost a fortune don't they. I'm pretty sure my DD doesn't want one, I might try asking her just to see what she says. I was the same when I was little I never liked the "baby" type dolls, but I did play with the girl type dolls a lot. I never liked real babies either til I had my own (which is why it took me so long to get around to parenthood).

francagoestohollywood · 20/11/2008 09:34

Yes, they do cost a fortune. At the moment there is a 25% discount on all toys at Upim (probably until the end of the month).
There are lots of children who don't like playing with baby dolls, mine must have taken after me, but then I was a bit pathologic as I played with dolls and barbies until very late . Even ds will play with dolls .

Just had a quick browse on the playmobil website and I think ds would love the colosseum, I think. But no space here for it

OP posts:
PippiCalzelunghe · 20/11/2008 10:08

spuntnik you are me!!!!

yes that house I got for 40 quid. half price! even my mum is a covert and` adores charity shops. impressed there's one in venice... don't know of one in pg.

ryanair is doing free flight free taxes dec and jan... got ticket for 3 of us for 30 return.look if you need.

dd was given a basic doll when dd2 was born. hasn't played with it once.

Rosa · 20/11/2008 15:40

Ihave been looking on M&S as they for today only have a 20% sale as sister coming over at start of Dec. She thinks she is flying over with hand luggage - I have other plans. Dad is coming over next week to see DD2 but he is flying Ryan Air - he got his ticket for £60 that is 2 flights BTW so not bad.
I should be doing dh accounts as I have 5 mins and brain is here - a bit not all but I have this nifty little laptop now and wifi so I can log in whenever I want !!!!!!
Only thing is the keyboard is tiny and I keep mistyping.

francagoestohollywood · 20/11/2008 15:55

Can I order some biscuits ? And the carrot cake...

OP posts:
hothell · 20/11/2008 20:43
