Bucharest · 24/10/2008 17:39

the Katie and Peter? I quite like Katie but Peter makes me eeeeeuw.

Rosa · 24/10/2008 18:49

As in Jordan????. That has not graced our screens yet On E news they have a documentary about Pamela Anderson but teh sound drives me mad as its half dubbed - she starts talking and then they come in over the top in Italian also she is not really my cup of tea.
Dh is also a channel flicker drives me insane! However not a political one as he has no faith in the Italian system whatsoever !

francagoestohollywood · 26/10/2008 15:19

lol lol lol at nancy brilli being manuela folliero with a wig lol!!!

I must say that I don't watch as much tv as I did in the UK, where the offer was much better (I miss bbc3 and bbc4 and e4), but I do watch more political programmes... mind you the last monday I watched bits of isola dei famosi and bit of l'infedele.

Bucharest I love Bisio's sketch in Zelig when he is Claudiano, il tronista della de filippi.

I miss English TV. Italian telly is so depressingly bad (generally)

Rosa · 27/10/2008 08:38

How were the Olives ??
DO you have Sky you can get BBc prime which does offer a fair few repeats but better than nothing at times. PLus you can get lots of progs in English on Sky - discovery , cartoons etc. We find we hardly ever watch Rai / mediaset no kidding !!!
Thought something was going to happen last night I felt sh*t and tummy was as hard as a football but no am still here with bump !! Swimming today if I manage to get there have lots to do and dh is out ( again) he has all the curtains to put up ...am placing bets that I will do it after having No2 !

francagoestohollywood · 27/10/2008 11:18

Yes, Italian TV is overall crap, apart from a few great exceptions. I still quite like Rai3, but then you all know I'm a leftie ...

Rosa mmmm sounds like she is getting ready to pop out . Was your first early?

No she arrived at 40+3 so will see had a lovely class made me feel great. Its grey and cloudy here today ...oh dd awake gotta go...

Sputnik · 27/10/2008 18:55

Glad to hear you're feeling good Rosa, sounds like things are happening.

Happy, have you finished with the olive picking? Was meaning to ask if they were yours or you were helping out. I love fresh oil, where I live is a mostly olive growing area.

PippiCalzelunghe · 27/10/2008 20:49

oh rosa since I had my daughters i get very teary when people are about to give birth.
The night before dd2 was born I called NHS direct 'cause I wasn't sure whether i had a show/water broke and whether I had to go to hospital. All of a sudden while I'm talking to the lady the water broke. When the nurse at the other end of the phone said 'I think she's coming' I started crying like an idiot. I couldn't believe it she was really there!

MarsLady · 27/10/2008 20:50

Ciao bella(s)

happychappy · 27/10/2008 21:03

Glad to hear youre feeling better. I hated the awaiting.

No we haven't finished yet but nearly. Yes they are ours. Its been so lovely ourside so its not been such a chore.

Looking forward to Saturday, all saints day and all. What are your plans

Sputnik · 27/10/2008 21:22

Do you have an imminent birth detector or something Mars?

I did olive picking for a week or so once, it was nice. And compared to the hazelnut harvest was a doddle.

Hurrah dd running a high temperature she had a grotty night - it never rains does it ? Hope its just a brief thing maybe another bit of this lovely permanent cold that she seems to have.
This morning I must admit to feeling like I want my mum ( as well as those blessed peanut cup things) - Anyway will be a day with dd hopefully flopping / sleeping on the sofa, disney channel - or me trying to keep her entertained which is is always fun when she is off colour !
You have been so lucky with harvesting olives in the nice weather - will have some of your oil if you have any spare!Never harvested nuts only grapes, olives - had a great time!

gio71 · 28/10/2008 07:32

poor you Rosa! Hope dd feels better soon. When is your Mum out?

Rosa · 28/10/2008 08:47

Hi Gio - Hows it all going ? Did Ikea deliver all your stuff ok . How is ds doing with eating and settling in ?
Mum is out on NOv5th but if dd does go down with something nasty I will ask her to come out sooner. Am just hoping its a passing thing. BUt she is refusing even to drink anything which is a bit of a worry. At the moment she is on the sofa watching Cars !!! I am trying to catch up on DH accounts as must get invoices done etc before 31st. NOt managing to get much done however.
Franca my e mail might be playing up so have sent you one from another address. WHatever happens I will see you even if it is just for 2 mins !!!!

gio71 · 28/10/2008 10:55

hi, yes they delivered and managed to do everything bar tv unit which they managed to break. so waiting for replacement......
anyway am much happier now as it feels like home. ds still being a pain with food, he seems to have 1 hungry day then 1 picky day. Seems settled in now though. Plus has Nanna and Grandad over from UK so he is a happy boy.
I hope dd picks up Rosa, get your accounts done and then join her on the sofa and relax if possible.

francagoestohollywood · 28/10/2008 14:35

Rosa have replied to your email, thank you very much . I'll text you on thurs night.
I have to run and pick the dc up. Hope your dd feels better asap. Gio, damn, there's always something that goes wrong with ikea!!! (still love it though...)

Rosa · 29/10/2008 07:58

Glad things are looking more positive Gio and hope Ikea get the table to you soon.
DD still not 100% so at home again . Off food and something is still lurking !
Brang have we offended you ???????
Has it been bad weather down south - we haven't had that much really bad ( yet)
Good job you got the Olives in Happychappy !.

francagoestohollywood · 29/10/2008 09:33

I saw Brangelina yesterday, I think she's been working a lot...
It has been raining since yesterday afternoon, which is good as it hasn't rained for weeks and air was unbreathable.
The Italians go all OTT when it rains, today children at dd's scuola materna were all wearing mantellina and wellies, which is very sweet, but seriously, it rarely gets that bad here !!

happychappy · 29/10/2008 12:16

I agree about the weather thing. However this year I keep feeling the cold. I sat all the way through a lesson with my coat on because I was freezing. My students couldn't stop laughing at me!
We got 14 litres of oil but there's still some to pick. My friend got 150litres so far and hasn't finished. Appenly our oil is very creamy! Is that good?
We've not had so much rain but it's still warm which is good.
I love IKEA just got the new catelogue. I want everything!

Rosa · 29/10/2008 12:20

Am no expert on Olive Oil - I just love the really local stuff that sits on the bread doesn't soak in with a sprinkle of salt! 150lit that is alot of oil !!!
I felt the cold for the 1st time 2 nights ago strange as am not used to it !!!!
My dd adores her wellies and can't wait to put them on - mind you she walks to school and we have acqua salata coming over the fondamente so it is a good excuse to wear them . Plus she is a puddle addict ..mmm I think she has a cape as well I must dig it out and see if I can find her a matching umbrella - Well us venetians must keep up with the Milanese

francagoestohollywood · 29/10/2008 20:45

lol rosa, but in Venice you do get more severe weather than in Milan!!

happychappy your oil sounds yummie, especially on the local bread, the one without salt
