Brang we have fastweb and never have any problems but it is not my campo dh decides what and who etc.
I could really eat something crap*y like crisps and prawn coctail sauce but when I go shopping I don't fancy anything and always buy the mimimal essentials esp now as can't carry much.Plus am terrified of acid reflux. Dh got me germo di grano , and seeds ( salted!!!!!) have cranberries and rasins and I think some dried apricots so after dd finished her merendina ( Lazy mum not insisting on fresh fruit today)we might give it a go.
I think all hire cars get given that off road test buy a client prima o dopo.
We had the protest march the other day probably as no public transport people can't get in today.
APparently MIL and mates reckon that dd2 will arrive at the new moon ( 29th Oct)...Watch this space !

francagoestohollywood · 17/10/2008 15:59

I'm starting to suspect that there might be a neighbour using our internet connection and therefore make it very slow or just useless. It is working well now.

Sorry to hear that there are so many foods you don't fancy rosa... you are nearly there though ! How is your mil btw?

Sorry to hear about your FIL Delgirl.
We have always had fastweb and never had any issues until this move and for some reason they are struggling to sort out sky tv and my wireless internet connection keeps crashing. Oh and the phone went today as well. All helps to make working from home so stress free
When is your due date Rosa?
Just eaten whole bar of chocolate and half a tub of haagen dazs , dp is out, ds is asleep and I have got my period so feel justified in my greed , minestrone e basta for Gio methinks tomorrow.
There is some film thing happening in our street, loads of trailers, costumes and the like but despite me hanging over balcony have not spotted any stars or understood who/what etc.

PippiCalzelunghe · 18/10/2008 08:17

at getting stuck on a hill! delgirl if it's any consolation, my mother, my brother and I got stuck on a hill as well in tuscany once! It's easier than one thinks! funny nevertheless !

Gio I'm glad you are happy with new flat. at the excuse to go and buy everything! re boxes: it's a year and a half and the garage and front room are still 'ripostigli'! front room has still no curtains so that is a good look from outside!

Rosa, I cannot wait for your lo to come out . I think it'll be the 28th!

Franca are you 100 going then? tbh I think it's half term here so ticket might not be a bargain but I'll check now.

In my house they are all asleep still, MIRACLE!!

PippiCalzelunghe · 18/10/2008 08:17

oh and sorry about your FIL delgirl!

Rosa · 18/10/2008 09:09

happychappy · 18/10/2008 11:26

Just thought I'd update you all on my dinner last night, in sunny Carignano (my village). We ate fish, fish and more fish and drank an awful lot of wine and didn't come home till the early hours. Yes the kids did come and yes they have gone to school (not voluntarilary) yes I have been working this morning (not to the best of my ability.

Was it worth it

YES YES YES. A great time was had by all and it only cost 45 euro for us all.

francagoestohollywood · 18/10/2008 15:02

Happychappy I'm so of the lovely time you had at the village fete. And the children just love feste di paese, you HAVE to take children to the feste del paese!!!

Gio my dh reckons it must be our pc that is broken, as his laptop connects to the internet with no probs from our bedroom. I hope you get it all sorted asap. Dh hasn't sorted the abbonamento to sky yet, after 10 months .
What film was that??? it wasn't scamarcio, was it? I sound like a 13 yrs old, don't I

Pippi, I think we are def going, but will be a 100% sure after talking to sil and bil tonight.
Well, we slept until 10 this morning, but that's becaue the children are staying with my parents ... until tomorrow at lunch time ..

rosa you should have told your aunt to come and lend a hand!! I was tired even with my first and didn't make the most of my last few months of freedom, I remember. And when I went to the movies I fell asleep or needed to pee every 15 mins!!

Oh Franca a child free weekend - enjoy it and enjoy your dh !!
Happychappy brings back memories and Eu45 I bet you were stuffed !
Long day with dd dh was working but am now going to slob on sofa and then bed - hoping for a more comfortable night,
Oh and the Navetta saga - I got the bloomin thing to fit. Basically the instructions said remove the seat cover - I had washed it . Put it back on today and put the thing on top and it clicked on. SO I have taken it off again to give it another wash !!!!!!!!

happychappy · 19/10/2008 08:09

Franca - child free weekend oooooooohhhh. Like the sound of that.
Rosa, not just stuffed, smug and pissed! Enjoy you slobbing. A good slob is a thing not to be missed!
Anyway off to a lunch and then a birthday party. First got to argue with kids about homework. I hate homework and they get soooo much here.

gio71 · 19/10/2008 19:51

Rosa for you at your aunty. interfering relatives! who needs them! Happychappy very jealous of your stuffed, smug and pissed state. And Franca a child free weekend ....
Ds is driving me INSANE with his eating. He used to be fab, ate everything and he has suddenly become so fussy, plus gets bored after 2 mouthfuls and refuses food. Any advice anyone?

MarsLady · 19/10/2008 19:53

Ciao Bella(s). It's been a while since I popped by.

Gio... what I used to do was to put the food in front of them and if they refused then that was that. If they continually refused a certain food (currently red things in our house) I still put a little on the edge of the plate. Eventually (though it might take weeks) they would eat it.

gio71 · 19/10/2008 19:55

ps Rosa I was knackered for the last month or so and hated with a passion people full of bounce and vitality I saw at the monitoraggi. Oh and I was doing NOTHING (finished work 2mths before due to moving back to Italy). I dread to think how knackering it must be when you already have a dc.

gio71 · 19/10/2008 19:56

ooh dont go yet marslady, did you give them something else if they didnt eat it or just let them have option of that or nothing?

francagoestohollywood · 19/10/2008 21:14

Gio, I think that lots of children go though a fussy stage when they are 2ish. It does sound "final" when it happens, but they go back to eat happily after a while (ime, of course).
I did offer an alternative, but only if they ate a little bit of what was my first choice.
Another thing that has always worked for us was to always eat together and eat the same food most of the time.

We had a lovely weekend, bil and sil came for dinner yesterday night (with another couple of friends), I got slightly drunk with grappa and this morning we all went to an exhibition. Then we collected the children and took them to a birthday party.

Brangelina, tellme, what do I do with loads of crunchy peanut butter (which I bought to make a thai curry)????

OP posts:
MarsLady · 19/10/2008 21:21

I would get them to eat a little of what I'd put on their plate first. I would only give a piece of fruit afterwards. No yogurts or desserts etc and certainly no in between snacks. Seems to be working so far (or at least the older 3 don't completely hate me)

MarsLady · 19/10/2008 21:22

franca... Peanut butter chicken! Yum! Chicken, tin of tomatoes, onions, chilli and peanut butter. Must make some this week.

francagoestohollywood · 19/10/2008 21:30

Yes, yes, yes Mars!!! yesterday I cooked chicken with red thay curry paste, coconut milk, onion and two table spoons of peanut butter. It was yummie!
But I have never bought peanut butter and was wondering how it is eaten with sandwiches etc...

And like Mars we usually have fruit after dinner, so they don't have yogurt or pudding after main meal anyway

Sputnik · 19/10/2008 21:34

How old is your DS Gio?
I've changed my aproach as DD gets older, and I'm becoming less tolerant of pickiness.
But when they're quite little I think sometimes they want to snack more than eat full meals.

Sputnik · 19/10/2008 21:38

Crunchy peanut butter is pretty good straight from the jar

francagoestohollywood · 19/10/2008 21:41

I tried it, full of expectations, but wasn't too keen .

OP posts:
MarsLady · 19/10/2008 21:43

The Americans (and some Brits) have peanutbutter and jelly (jam) sandwiches. Some have bananas with their peanut butter.

And of course you can always make satay

francagoestohollywood · 19/10/2008 21:48

satays, of course!!!!!!!!! I do have a recipe somewhere.
I quite like the idea of it with jam. And will keep trying eating it from the jar, pretty sure I'm going to end up liking it

OP posts:
francagoestohollywood · 19/10/2008 21:49

satays? satay
