I just wanted to say I love Uwila and her straight talking honesty. If you don't like butt out! If you do, join this thread in praise of her.

Isn't it more 'bulltick' in Lancs?

Toothache · 25/02/2005 12:49

My DH is a scouser and he thinks I make these words up!! His favourite it Glaiket (sp?).... meaning gormless. He loves describing peoples facial expressions as Glaiket!! lol.

Peely -wally - Pail

Squeejee - Squint

Donder - walk

tarantula · 25/02/2005 12:50

Well Ive already got a fan club here

RTKangaMummy · 25/02/2005 12:51

JanH The most popular would be at the top 50

and the unpopular ones would be dropped off

If you bribed people to put positive posts on yours

Would you have to own up how much you had paid in money or choccy

collision · 25/02/2005 12:51

TinyGang · 25/02/2005 12:57

RTKangaMummy · 25/02/2005 12:57

In day to day speech

tarantula · 25/02/2005 12:58

Toothache · 25/02/2005 12:58

expatinscotland - Like the pronunciation: Edinboro? Grrrrrr

IMO It should be pronounced: Eh-din-Buh-ruh

Maybe even with a rrroll on the rrrrrrrr.

JanH · 25/02/2005 12:59

Not Embra???

expatinscotland · 25/02/2005 12:59

Aye, Toothache, or worse, with a hard 'g'! Expelled immediately!

RTKangaMummy · 25/02/2005 13:00

pmsl tarantula

Toothache · 25/02/2005 13:01

Tarantula - What a bird? Chocolate coated sparrow?

RTKangamummy - Got to be AYE... unless the kids are listening, then it's a definite Yesss.

'No' shall be pronounced - Naw (unless as above, the bairns are listening in).

Marina · 25/02/2005 13:01

Love the way this thread has turned especially being able to add Baltic to weather descriptors. Is Haggis McBaggis still used to describe someone who is not feeling well-groomed, ladies?

NomDePlume · 25/02/2005 13:01

HaggisMcBaggis would make a great MN name

Toothache · 25/02/2005 13:03

NDP - My DH used to be called Scouser McSh*t when he 1st moved up to Scotland from Liverpool.

Toothache · 25/02/2005 13:04

Marina - Never heard of Haggis McBaggis. My favourite is "Haud yer Wheeeesht"!! Meaning Shut up..... perhaps that would be less offensive on threads.

RTKangaMummy · 25/02/2005 13:05

Toothache

I am being very dim but what doyou mean AYE unless children are listening

Do you mean you want them to say yes rather than aye

Having a dim moment

expatinscotland · 25/02/2005 13:06

I've heard some VERY posh folks slipping up and saying 'aye' from time to time. Heehee.
