I just wanted to say I love Uwila and her straight talking honesty. If you don't like butt out! If you do, join this thread in praise of her.

OP posts:

if uwila started it herself she'll be a bit depressed, as not that many people came out and joined the thread to say they 'loved her straight talking honesty'. Where I live (the straight talking north) people describe themselves as 'straight talkers' when they really mean 'insensitive rude w**er who doesn't give a toss if I hurt your feelings or not'.

wobblyknicks · 27/02/2005 21:18

leglebegle, totally agree, or sometimes they say 'straight talker' meaning 'everything I say is naturally true'

beansontoast · 27/02/2005 21:20

this thread looks like nastiness done up as niceness to me

WigWamBam · 27/02/2005 21:23

Sorry you feel that way, I certainly haven't said or intended any nastiness.

beans, a huge amount of the thread isn't about Uwila at all, and most of what nastiness there is has come from her.

leglebegle · 27/02/2005 21:39

does anyone have the link to where the offending thread was that caused uwila to flounce?

JanH · 27/02/2005 21:43

It's been deleted I think, lb.

But it all started on this thread (Tuesday)

Blu · 27/02/2005 21:46

people started 'chatting' on this thread to fillibuster it away from the playground atmosphere it was developing. Then it all came back and everyone strted a whole lot of 'don't say that about my friend' 'well my friend says this' and it was just about chatted into oblivion again when......

It can't be right to pursue arguments around from one thread to another, or to start gangs of people sticking up for each other, or go for people personally, however much you disagree with them.

So can we go back to the weather for a bit?

JanH · 27/02/2005 21:48

True, Blu (lol) - as this one was started though it was hard to ignore under the circs. Shall we all start posting KILL THIS THREAD (thus keeping it at the top of active convos)?

Blu · 27/02/2005 21:59

And bumping like dodgems?

RTKangaMummy · 27/02/2005 22:04

OOOH Yes

I love Dodgems

Do you think XXXXX does too?

wobblyknicks · 27/02/2005 22:05

What are you all on about, you mean you think we should bump this thread, how do we go about that then?

JanH · 27/02/2005 22:05

dodgem

RTKangaMummy · 27/02/2005 22:06

can't cope with waltzers though

What is your best and worst?

WigWamBam · 27/02/2005 22:06

Surely this thread needs to be allowed to die now?

Ooooops

RTKangaMummy · 27/02/2005 22:08

dodgems or waltzers or something else?

Blu · 27/02/2005 22:28

the Headless Woman!
that was a sideshow at nottingham's goose fair, and my Mum would never let us go and look (surprisingly because she said she didn't see how they could go to the toilet hygenically sitting in a sideshow for hours in end!).

My friend and I sneaked in when Mum was supervising my baby sister on a baby ride - there was a woman's body sitiing upright on a chair - she was knitting - and out of her neck where her head should be, there were just wires.

I had nightmares for weeks.

JanH · 27/02/2005 22:29

SHE WAS KNITTING? WITH NO HEAD?

I can't knit with a head. Maybe that's where I'm going wrong?

Blu · 27/02/2005 22:34

You crack me up Jan!

RTKangaMummy · 27/02/2005 22:36

JanH

Blu was that the best or worst? prob worst.....

WigWamBam · 27/02/2005 22:40

Anything like this , Blu?

Blu · 27/02/2005 22:40

oooh, a bit of both, I think!
What about divebombers? that thing with a capsule at either end and it goes right up in the air in a circle and comes down?
Best and worst, too.
Waltzers are the 'sickiest' tho!
If the fairground guy fancied you, he'd stand on the back of yours all through the ride and spin it.
